In your screenshot the FMA doesn't show the Glideslope as captured, it shows " GS* " which means it is approaching the Glideslope. "GS" would mean captured
Can you try to reproduce this?
Ahhhh... well I haven't seen (or at least haven't noticed) earlier G/S to appearing as green with or without * before it's actually captured... have I been this blind? ๐
Easily... it has done like this in all flights within last for a week maybe... so started (or at least noted) it already few versions earlier. ๐
Ok, that's strange, we don't have any other reports of this at the moment, but I'll keep checking
Well @quick stag gave already some tip which I might have missed earlier.... that *-symbol after GS which states approaching G/S, not captured yet.
Indeed, but the G/S* engagement seems a bit early to me as well
It shouldn't end up pitch up for example
And that G/S* has appeared when still even bit more below G/S (diamond near the upper edge)... I will observe on my next approach that does it just report "approaching G/S" too early or even pitch up a bit to capture G/S faster.
EFHK ILS 22L, just captured LOC and immediately also G/S* green when still on base leg and not even close to FAF (4 miles away, FAF at TIXED)... no pitching up...
BUT after G/S* gone green, VNAV didn't respect MCP ALT which was set to 3000ft, aircraft continued to descend below it basically keeping it going below G/S longer time, eventually G/S came down faster and was captured...
Well once G/S* is active it won't follow the set altitude anymore, that makes sense
but I don't know why it starts descending on the G/S while it's below it
I will try to reproduce this a bit later
Yeah it continued descend at -300ft/min but good thing that G/S came down faster than that and was capture at some decent altitude. Basically ILS can't be even armed before reaching FAF altitude in VNAV mode, if want to capture G/S in that intended altitude. Very weird yeah.
.efbabout Can you just send this so I can check you're on the correct version?
In order to rule out version conflicts and continue with providing support for our aircraft, we need to see a screenshot showing your flyPadOS and aircraft version. The version of the flyPadOS and aircraft can be found in the following way:
After loading the aircraft, use the flyPad (EFB) to open the Settings - About page and provide a screenshot of the flyPad. For more details on the flyPadOS, check our documentation.
Thanks ๐
