Hi Incendium team,

First off, amazing work on the datapack! My server community really enjoys what Incendium adds to the game.

That said, I’ve run into a bit of a performance issue. The spawner spawn rate seems a bit too high, and it’s causing MSPT to spike on our server. Since it’s a datapack, server optimizations like those from Bukkit don’t really help in this case.

Would you consider slightly reducing the spawn rate from spawners in a future update? It’d make a big difference for performance, especially for servers running in survival mode.

Thanks again for your awesome work, and I really appreciate your time!

Best regards,
Green.

Incendium 1.21

Incendium is currently in an odd spot. The project desperately needs a rewrite, which is currently ongoing. However, this will take a while, with no ETA - likely won't release until 2025.

In the meantime, we have an unsupported port of Incendium for 1.21.x, posted in our Discord and on Modrinth. Reasoning:

  • It will not be possible to directly update old Incendium worlds to the rewrite
  • We want to discourage people automatically updating to the port, and by proxy the rewrite when it releases
  • This would normally mean we would not make a port at all, but we want people with Incendium worlds in 1.20.x to be able to update to 1.21.x

What does unsupported mean?

  • The actual datapack/mod works perfectly fine! No huge issues
  • Small bugs, compatibility issues, or other problems will have no guarentee to be patched by us
  • Large game-breaking bugs will be fixed by us, and Incendium will be updated
  • The port will be updated to all Minecraft versions as they release, up until the time the rewrite comes out
