biomes only could be a good thing to do
because the worldgen isnt causing lag, having biomes only would still allow to have at least the immersion of its biomes
this is sad, however i see why its needed
I suggest we add metallurgy in its stay and some of the addons for it

i was thinking about that, idk how the server handles removing datapack items like that, but i image they would just keep their stats but lsoe any other features (like the voltaic trident turns into a normal trident) but the issue is would a greta sword of sacrifice just become a sword with like 20+ damage and no drawbacks?

what sucks is with incendium being removed several items are no longer farmable, major ones being sand, and redstone

I don't think Incendium is the real problem with the TPS lag, I think that it's only amplifying the actual problem causing the lag. Chunk generation. Sure the server has a huge area already progenerated, but players are still RTPing into unloaded chunks both in the nether and in the overworld, as more players do this the lag increases.
I know how much loading new chunks would effect the server tps because I use to run a small server of around 10 people. It was 8 gbs and ran smoothly untill players started adventuring out into the unloaded chunks and tanked the server.
Even if you removed Incendium, the lag will still be there as long as players can RTP to unloaded chunks.
chunk loading is also probably a cause of lag - but according to birch the incendium datapack deals 35% of the lag of the server
and that 35% is likely from its function code
we actually did several reports on the lag sources - 42% of lag is coming from function execution. I estimated 35% is from Incendium itself
but yes, chunk generation did take up about a decent chunk of the server's lag - about 5-10%

tps and server lag was much better today and not very laggy, maybe incendium is fine? idk
I feel like tps is also dying when (me and my friends) entered the farmworld because that were also unloaded chunks and if it resets every two days there will be even more unloaded chunks

•make Farmwelt reset like weekly

they are pregenned (at least supposed to be iirc)

I have been corrected: they are not pregenned, but that's because Kuma has an interesting plan for that process

We also said ~10% was coming from chunks, so it's not a "no", it's a "not entirely, the main source is functions but the generation is contributing"

i havent gotten any at all, i just can see a lot of people who dont regularly check the server posts but play often getting upset
maybe catter and kuma will figure out an alternative, but structures probably won’t be there anymore because there’s no way to stop the items inside from generating

There actually is 1 problem with biomes only that i just remembered, the wither skeletons in the withered forest will drop wither skeleton skulls

As soon as you go 20+ it lags
And the server was beefy too

yeah because render distance is absurdly low and mobs cant be breed
and even then it is very often at lower tps's
once incendium is removed we'll have access to more without a performance cost and consistent tps
another thing to note: part of the reason why the performance is not terrible even with Incendium is that the mobcap and render distance are set super low. once incendium is removed, not only will performance increase, but we'll be able to raise those 2 things as well
so yeah, TPS is fine, but quality of play isnt as good as it should be to compensate

Update: the server resource will be optional (it will ask you to download it, but you can click No to not download it), but you won't be able to see any of the custom item skins or cosmetic stuff.
adding to that: if there are Hats based on Pumkin heads and you decide not to download the pack then everyone will wear a pumpkin head
