How do you thumbs up a raid before others do? Been trying to get into genesect raids for a while 😅

@zenith hedge For future reference, I'm guessing what happened is your host chose to rehost the lobby. When this happens, you lose access to the channel and everyone in the previous raid group is kicked from the lobby. If the channel turns to read only, do not fret. That means the bot worked and you are out of the lobby and free to join another group.

@iron palm The raids are very competitive. There is not one best strategy besides waiting and clicking where you think the button will appear. Perhaps wifi or some low-latency internet would help more, but I have heard from a lot of people having success on cellular data too, so I'm not totally sure that makes a difference.

Try clicking a few times a little bit before the button appears rather than waiting for it to pop up and then reacting. You can maybe click it as soon as possible this way.

You have to wait, 5 seconds is it? Before the BOT "likes" the posted raid, after that ever other player will be able to "like" it aswell, with the 5 fastest to join.

The order of reactions that shows up on your screen is the client-side order, i.e. it assumes you have 0ms ping while everyone else has their ping applied. Basically, you see much different from what the bot saw.

Permissions to add reactions are disabled in the raid chat, but you can still add on to existing ones. The bot always is the first one to react, and as soon as the first 👍 is added, it is fair game for everyone else
All you need to do is click the 👍 that is already there and you will add another one to it

I’ve had it happen to me aswell plenty of times, you’re just gonna have to deal with it unfortunately, or ask them to rewrite the code so it reads out the reactions to a csv or whatever and then reads it back to the bot

but it's just highly competitive right now with a new T5 raid boss
within a couple days it will likely die down
you just can't depend on what it looks like on your end
might seem like you were like, 5th to react but it might not be the order the bot sees it

In order to change your nickname (it will only affect this server, not any others you may be in), you just have to swipe left or right to access the server list. Tap the 3 dots in the top right and in that menu will be “change nickname”

Clarification on the new system: if there are lots of raids should we only react to one and wait to see if we are in before reacting to a second or will the bot not include us in a second one if we get into the first? Don't want to get into two at once and not be able to turn up. Hope that makes sense.

Yes just click on one raid if you don't get in then you are free to join another one. There is a bug cheop is trying to fix that type of issue

Also regarding the issue you experienced earlier, every night the bot cycles off on. I set it to reset all roles including host when It gets reset as a measure so no one gets stuck with the role. A side effect is people will not be able to rehost/leave rooms. This will be smoothed our in the future

for the channels that dont say legacy in front you just press on the thumbs up button that appears within 10 seconds. after 10 seconds the bot selects random people to be apart of the raid.
if you are selected you will be have access to a new channel with the host and other members you will also be pinged so it will be pretty obvious if you got in
after that you just add the host and wait for invite 😇

Sometimes someone clicks the thumb and then unclicks but the bot will register everyone that clicks even if they take their reaction away
So even if the number shown wasn’t over the limit it’s possible it actually was if anyone clicked and tried to undo their reaction

Only one host per channel will be allowed at a time. This is make the process more fluid and to minimize bugs where users end up in multiple lobbies.
This also makes it much more painful for hosts. Now we have to sit and watch for when the previous room is filled, and then hope that we're the first one to smash enter to get our new hosting offer out there. I think you've got this wrong, you've tried to compensate for a technial issue by making it less easy for the people that wish to host.

@digital dome while yes this does compensate for a technical issue, it isn’t solely for that. What we noticed being a big problem in the past is that 2 or 3 or 4 hosts would all post at once. Each one would get maybe 4 👍 and none of them would fill up. And then those same people would post them again after their lobbies didn’t fill up the first time. Whereas if you concentrate all the original 👍 into the earlier posted lobbies, then we can actually fill them up and overall reduce the messages being posted in the channel. If by making it “less easy” for hosts you mean that you have to wait your turn and let other people’s existing lobbies fill up then yes that’s exactly what we did.
What you are probably noticing right now and frustrated by is that we have crossed a point at which the hosts for genesect raids outnumber the players doing them, and lobbies don’t go as quickly

Thanks for the response. The rationale seems sensible, but when it is busy and I have to wait for an exetended period of time to post a hosted raid then I may as well have joined someone else's. It's easier being a raid consumer than a raid host, therefore it should be as easy as possible to host.
If your hosts get annoyed with waiting 2, 5, 10 minutes (random examples) to be able to post their raid because they don't happen to time it correctly when pushing the enter key, then they're soon going to lose interest.
If you are determined to have a single raid at a time (which I'm not saying is a bad idea at all!) then it would be better, imo, to find a way to queue the hosting requests in the order in which people post it so that the hosts aren't reliant on timing their offer

A queue system would probably be best (although that doesn’t fix the problem of waiting, just timing). It’s hard striking a balance between fairness, efficiency, ease, and working within the limitations of discord rate limit and API to get done what needs to get done. We will continue making changes to the system until we feel it has achieved that, which is not yet the case
Something small that could be done now is changing the host timer to 90 seconds which would lessen the waiting, and also setting a room cool down to 120 seconds so that people cannot repost their own expired invitation immediately

When a raid is posted, there is now a 10 second opening at the start where an unlimited number of users may react to the raid. The bot will randomly select from those users to make a full group. Everyone in this 10 second window is given an equal chance at getting in, regardless of whether they are first or last.

Strange Raidbot Behavior... There was just a rehost in other raids, 2 person minimum, had 4 thumbs up and Raidbot said there weren't enough people...

It could have been the same people from the previous raid who pressed it and didn't know that rehost only accepts new people. Or people may have the in role from a previous lobby. This issue has happened before and one solution is just doing it again

@woven prawn hey, we have a system that only allows people to host in the raid channels any other messages will be automatically deleted. To properly join a raid you just press the thumbs up within 10 seconds and if you are lucky the bot will select you.
If you are selected then you will have a new channel pop up and you will also be pinged. If you have any questions I'm happy to help

Do you recall if you added that host at an earlier time?

The old way seems better for when it is slow. But when it's like the first day people will be saying need 5 need 4. And everyone is typing in at the same timethe hosts don't exactly know who is in what raid there is also lag where people think they were 4th to say in but actually were 7th. We can add another channel but unfortunately most people won't use it like what happened with Rayquaza.

When someone hosts a thumbs up will appear under the post, then you just click it. The bot will randomize 5 people to join that raid and they will get added to a seperate lobby

Once you understand everything you then select your team by clicking on the emote which will give you access to the rest of the server. Also update your discord name to include your friend code and pokemon go name. Any further questions just post them here 👍

to Join a raid: Go into the corresponding chat of the Pokémon you desire.
React to the thumbs up emote (👍 ) on the host's command message. The bot will take all users after 10 seconds and randomly take a select few.

so if you host you'll do -host @pokemon 6 6 (the numbers are how many people you need min/max including yourself)
then whoever gets selected you'll all get pinged to a private lobby and everyone can add you

@silk mist unfortunately that's a pretty common bug in pogo. If it happens, try exiting out of the game and reentering asap and see if that helps.
