Hi, I have a couple instances that simply keep crashing before reaching the menu and properly launching the game, one on forge and 1.20.1, and the other on fabric and 1.21.4. I would opt to try and resolve the issue on my own except I simply don't understand crash logs or how to read them and extrapolate the issue. so if anyone can help me fix these issues then that would be amazing (brownie points if you can also give me some insight on how to read crash logs and extrapolate data so that I can do it myself in future).

see if removing essential from the 1.21.4 modpack fixes it

check for a crash report in the crash-reports folder of the instance

sometimes logs cut out the actual error that caused the crash

yeah that mod only supports 1.21-1.21.3

yeah, possibly, i just noticed while doing some digging that it is supported for 1.21.4, but in a seperate listing as a resource pack instead of a mod, so i'll delete the mod, download the resource pack and give that a go to see what happens

ah yeah there was a bunch of item model changes in 1.21.4 so you can do that with resource packs now

nope, still not working, even if i just have it dissabled completely. i think for now i'm just gonna try rebuilding the fabric pack from the ground up

any ideas on the forge pack though?

same with that one, the log isn't showing the actual error so we'll need the crash report

you've got a pretty old version of Ambient Sounds it looks like

I'm still kinda new when it comes to modding my game and the modding scene seems to be a bit more disorganized than what it seemed from an outside perspective, so it's really awesome that there's people willing to help with things like this 🩷

hopefully. I'd love to repay you both in some way, simply due to my lack of faith in humans i tend to do this when people are kind to me. perhaps would either of you want to try joining the horror series i'm planning to do soon? i know horror isn't everyone's cup of tea, but it's pretty much all i have to offer 😅 and having someone with more modding experience to help when thing get too buggy might be good.

Neither? Closer to a server, so far it’s just me and one other friend, and we’re using essential to just host it off my PC atm

But it’s like, natural gameplay, do what you want, but there’s these far more threatening things around, making the game more… dynamic?
