#How to (legally) include Curseforge mods in Modrinth modpacks?
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
it's uploaded to modrinth so you shouldn't do it unless you have permission or the license allows it
it's documented that overrides are put inside the pack zip
overrides are stored in the zip yes ^^^^ so these jars are being distributed by modrinth (which is why explicit permission/license is required, to legally distribute them!)
there is no documentation about this "issue" because it is not specific to curseforge, you can include ANY jar you'd like as long as you have permission
How can I determine if a given mod/project can be used in my modpack?
in fact it's not really content from curseforge at all because curseforge does not own the rights to mod jars (they have distribution rights but not copyright)
Cf authors don't get download counts from these bcuz they're distributed directly from modrinth
it could be different if Overwolf didnt C&D Rinth Inc to not use CF links but oh well
