Hey! I’ve played around eighty hours, through almost two years, on one save. I’ve had very few disease outbreaks, and until recently only minor things-I was diagnosed with a cold and the flu at different points (everyone did recover, they weren’t permanently sick or anything). I figured I was just really lucky no one died, but that wince few people caught it, the odds weren’t impossible. Recently, I got smallpox coming in on the weekend boat. It’s been several days (Friday, so five days since first contact), and no one has died from it. From what I can tell, that is statistically unlikely, especially since two thirds the town got sick after the super spreader event that was market day. Has this been noted before/what do I do for it?

Edit: talked to a family member I got into the game, they said the same thing happened. Smallpox, tons of people come down sick, no deaths. Does it just take a really long time for the deaths to happen?

no, deaths should be pretty common there; I can take a look at your save to see if there's anything weird? Maybe it was in the update

Huh, I moved forward one day

And on the current build as well; what device/branch are you playing on?

Huh. I just went and slept through the day and same result. Is it supposed to take a week? (The experience wasn’t bad, especially since these deaths did end up occurring-an empty town was pretty spooky.) I’m running a dell latitude 5450.

Yeah, I don't have the exact numbers up but I think it takes 4-7 days to get through smallpox with a chance of dying within that period
