custom foods are from BPs it just says who crafted it and the crafting % I think

1. Is nitrado a better host the Gportal? or should i stay with Gportal?

2. If nitrado is better or the same, is there a way to transfer progress in a map from gportal to nitrado? like buildings and everything,

Well I do not use G-portal at all, I tried it in the past and did not like the layout of it. I have being using Nitrado now for the past 4 years and it has worked out well for me. The main advantage Nitrado has over G-portal, is beacon can be fully integrated with Nitrado so that would remove any issues coding wise.

As for question 2 no, if you move to Nitrado you would lose everything you have on Gportal and visa versa. No way to transfer any of it.

Download a program called file Zilla. As for instructions, that varies from providers but it's common for it to be your servers IP address then an ftp port number and your server password.

You need one server for one map, so to transfer to another map you need another server set up as the map you want.

On the Web interface there is a section called "cross ark" in there you need to generate a "cluster ID" you copy and paste that ID into the same section of your other servers so they all connect.
Then check you have upload and downloads of items, characters and dinos enabled in the check boxes.

Ensure the names of your servers are different. Or they will not show up.

In my experience a standard 10 slot server from Nitrado is sufficient for my and my community's needs.

However if you want a gen 2 server you will need a 16 player slot if you are on pc or 20 if you on console

trying to join a hosted server, server 'admin' says her client is reporting patch version 343.19 in bottom left corner, my client shows 343.17 -- forums say PC client version is 343.17 and servers should be 343.19; i see on the 'join ark' page that servers are 'healthy' with 343.19, and i can see the server there, and in steams servers list, but my game attempts to connect, system monitor shows ARK accessing a bunch of files from the ARK directory, loading some blueprints from the mods folders, and then drops me back to the main menu; she says her client connects to the servers fine -- any ideas/suggestions/troubleshooting tips? i'm running a 'file verification' through steam now

For some reason my rented server on Ragnarok doesn't have anything spawning what so ever in the deep ocean. No dunkleo's or anything at all. Same thing with our red woods- their entirely barren. No wyvern spawns other than ice, no gigas or titanosaurs, and hardly even any rexes. I have adjusted alot of settings, but I haven't done anything that should effect dino spawns- infact I even increased the amount of dino spawn weight to try and see if it would force those spawns but theres been no change.

It's Primitive+ too for those wondering. I've never encountered this problem before with rag and it's alittle staggering. I have dino wiped multiple times as well, so I am unsure what to do to fix this

could anyone give me a hand or some tips on getting my server running properly? I've got everything setup and running for an ark server on a computer that is used exclusively home server. Running ubuntu 20.04lts, service is up and running, uwf is disabled on the computer (I know its not the best way but for troubleshooting its disabled, will enable after everything is working), and I have ports 7777, 27015, and 27016 setup to forward to the server as tcp/udp protocol . Server shows no errors and reports the service as running. EDIT: I know the system is getting ports properly forwarded from the router as I can ssh into it from my public and local ip addrs. EDIT_2: The server is running as cli only with no desktop installed, trying to keep it that way if at all possible, I was tempted to install a lightweight desktop and use X forwarding through ssh to do it graphically, but this should not be needed.

So, I am using mods and I noticed that my various crafting tables are stuck in folder view. Anyone know a solution to this? In many cases I would want this, but when cooking or making narcs, it is nice to not go into the crafting folders constantly.

Characters and everything built on the maps, but eventually we found out that returning players still had access to their upload from the previous season. How do I make sure this does not happen for next season wipe?

It's odd, and I also noticed when they're bunched like that, I can't hit them when I shoot them. I have to wait till they move away from each other for the bullets to impact.

Hey all, I recently started running a dedicated server on pc purchased solely for this purpose. Everything appears to be working fine on my end. I am on the island at this second and everything is going great as far as i can tell. But I am noticing something odd with my server. On my second laptop I am ssh'd into the server (i5-11400f, 32gb ddr4, 500gb nvme drive, 1gb network switch, with a ping of 10-12) and at idle (8+ hours after starting the server and sitting idle with no players connected to the world) I am sitting on 7.9 - 9gb ram usage. This seems unusually high as I see people online constantly saying that they see idle ram usage of 1-2 gb after letting the server start. I can connect no problem, and have not experienced any obvious issues when exploring my island. Any idea why I am not seeing the process idle down to a lower ram usage after sitting for a while to boot?

ok i just did some tweaking on my systmd service file and reloaded the server now its sitting around 5.5 gigs ram idle, going to boot up ark again and connect and check for issues, still seems like higher than expected idle ram usage......

Np. Usually just involves finding where the issue is. I'm not sure if saveviewer tools like Larkator or Ark Save Viewer work for win10, but it's worth a try. If they don't, manual exploration I suppose.
Do you have any custom spawns?

nothing custom at the moment, no mods, 100% vanilla. I will look into the saveviewer tools you mentioned, and I'll ssh back into the server here and see if I can manually comb through the servers save files too. Thank you for getting me pointed in the right direction, that is a huge help! Hopefully I can get this sorted and be able to run a server for each map here.

No problem. You can also use DestroyTribeDinos while looking at an unclaimed dino, or detsroywilddinos commands and see if those help as well. If they do, it's possible breeding bomb or wild dino overspawn respectively (though if you have no custom spawns then it's probably not an overspawn)

I'm not sure how sizes compare between win10 and steam, singleplayer (hibernation prevented) and servers, but looking at an island save I have that's mostly just wild dino spawns on dino count 1, it's 31700kb. So much larger than that and there's probably a lot of something there

We are definitely getting somewhere with your suggestions, I wiped all wild and tribe dinos ( out of curiosity i went into the ocean and ran into about 1 billion sharks), did " cheat saveworld" in game , closed the game, ssh'd into the server, ran systemctl restart ark.service && systemctl restart ark && watch -n systemctl status ark. The server is now sitting on 4gb ram at idle, so we are already down 50% from idle usage an hour ago!

Also if you noticed sharks were a particular problem, try using NPCreplacements on them, see how much that helps

OOH..... wow..... I did not think of modifying the game.ini or GameUserSettings.ini , I have been doing everything by writing and manipulating systmd service files. I'll do some more investigating on the files and see if that may be causing the issue as well. I noticed under arkserver/ShooterGame/Saved/SavedArks, there is a" TheIsland_DD.MM.YY_HH.MM.SS.ark" where the dmy/hms are date and time, file for about every 5 minutes ive spend in the server, Wondering if that may be causing some issue too, possibly tryingto save too frequently and overlapping functions?

Every 5 minutes? Yeah, that's definitely abnormal. Worth checking AutoSavePeriodMinutes in GUS as well in that case

ok so under the directory "arkserver/ShooterGame/Saved/Config" I have these files " Compat.ini, DeviceProfiles.ini, Engine.ini, Game.ini, GameUserSettings.ini, Input.ini, Lightmass.ini, and Scalability.ini" all of the files are blank with the exception of GameUserSettings . Checked game user settings for autosave settings and adjusted it to 25min, there is no DinoCountMultiplier line, going to do some looking for a good default value and input that into the file.

just modified the files and took a few lines out of the systmd service file since some of the flags is was using were duplicates of parts of the ini file. booted the server up and the memory usage is back up to 5 gb, but ill give it a few minutes to load everything up and stabilize, maybe the mem usage will drop here .

on the high mem usage i just noticed a few things, when I did the dino wipe i also reset the day to day 1 on the island. Logged out and back in a few times and all was good, after modifying the files it is reverting back to a save at day 105 on th island before the dino wipe, I'm going manualy erase the saves on the server except for the one that is known good and try again, and if that does not work, ill wipe all saves and start a fresh ark with new settings, the memory usage is for sure dropping when everything cooperates.

How do I use the s+ transmitter in single player? It says to turn off hibernation in order for it to show all scanned dino's. I have always ignored this but now I want to fix it.

Preventing hibernation fixes resource and dino respawn bugs, and allows buff-based mods (that apply their mods only in specific circumstances) to work, allows the S+ dino finder to work properly, and I do highly recommend running with the launch paramater. But I do have to warn that if you later re-enable hibernation (remove the launch option), it can cause crashes. This seems to be able to be fixed by launching with certain launch params and dinowiping, but I've not run any save like that for an extended amount of time so I can't say if it's 100% effective in the long term or not.
You'll need to add it to the steam launch paramaters- Right click on ark on steam, properties. Add exactly this- Hyphen included- -preventhibernation
It also increases ram usage quite a bit, but is very much worthwhile

Sadly, we've had players try complete uninstall/reinstalls, mod folder removal and reinstalls, unsubbing to mods and resubbing, all of it, and nothing has fixed it either. I figure if this is an underlying patch designed to open up functionality and give control back to private servers, fundamental things have changed slightly and can usually result in mod issues. Give it a few days and I bet we start seeing mods get updated and a patch or two to fix the latest patch. Just gonna be a waiting game most likely.

You shouldn't lose anything, but would be best to check with your server host to make sure. Also, you'll want to ask them what their policy is on multiple accounts throughout their server; that's in reference to your second question.

A lot of the settings I've seen in videos I've looked up are really really high and that seems a bit excessive

Check the pinned messages in #bobs-with-probs for stack sizes (if you dont want to use a stack mod) and you can use the info there as well for the difficulty stuff. Taming and breeding multipliers are very slow on 1x, so definitely bump those up if you don't want to spend hours/days on it.

Hello fellow survivors! Just curious if anyone is running unofficial of the Lost Island map from a Linux hosting server? Since the release of LI map when going into the Ice Wyvern trench you can mesh thru the cliff walls and continuing further into the heart of the Ice area where nests and stuff should be spawning you mesh right thru the floor and drop out into water where you eventually re-materialize above the entire area out ontop of the snow...

We also notice that out of all the maps this one doesn't seem to show a build version when looking at the listing.

The clients are PC's running the version of Ark from Steam

Stack INI

There's two versions, a global multiplier, and a per-item multiplier.

First, make sure the game is closed, and for Singleplayer, to find your INI files, see the INI pin for instructions for your platform. Server hosts may have different ways of accessing the INI.

The global mult is ItemStackSizeMultiplier= in GameUserSettings.ini under [ServerSettings]. Just multiplies everything by the number you specify there (except items which don't naturally stack; those must be configured individually).

Individual code goes in Game.ini under [/script/shootergame.shootergamemode]

To break down how you write code for individual items, ill take honey as an example
ConfigOverrideItemMaxQuantity=(ItemClassString="PrimalItemConsumable_Honey_C",Quantity=(MaxItemQuantity=5,bIgnoreMultiplier=true))
This stacks honey to 5.
For ItemClassString, you need the classname of the item, with _C on the end.
MaxItemQuantity is simply how much it stacks to
bIgnoreMultiplier dictates whether that amount is affected by the global multiplier or not (with false for it to be affected and true to disregard the global mult)

As far as getting the item classname, you can grab those off the wiki. You'll find it's blueprint path listed- And from there, you can grab the classname (bit in bold). Then add _C
Blueprint'/Game/PrimalEarth/CoreBlueprints/Items/Consumables/PrimalItemConsumable_Honey.PrimalItemConsumable_Honey

You may also want to boost your weight gain per level, if you want to set your stack sizes very high

Difficulty/Wild dino levels

In singleplayer, the Max Difficulty option on Island, Aberration, Scorched and Extinction, is bugged and will use levels that effectively follow the x4 offset instead of the x5 that official servers (and most unofficial servers), and official modmaps (such as Ragnarok) use, meaning a maximum wild dino level of 120 on the paid maps and 150 on the rest. If you're on PC, this can be corrected by altering the override in the INI-

To alter the override, you need to
-Make sure the game is closed

• Find the GameUserSettings.ini file. To find it for your platform check the INI pin
  -Open up GameUserSettings.ini (will open with notepad but notepad++ is better)
  -Find the section labelled [ServerSettings]
• Add OverrideOfficialDifficulty=5 right underneath that

If you're looking for the full 150, and not just a corrected override, also edit DifficultyOffset- it should already be in the file, under [ServerSettings]- and set it to 1 (this same value can also be edited with the difficulty level on the menu screen. It cannot be set past 1- to raise the level cap past 120/150 you must add the INI line)

Then, in game, do a wild dino wipe with the command destroywilddinos to get the higher levelled ones to spawn

Getting crashstacks after the patch, can't open the .dmp files to see if it's a mod, or if its WC. We're getting timedout messages.

Happens literally right after breeders start breeding dinos. nobody can get within 30 foundations of the room they fired up the breeding dinos in without getting timed out of the game.

Pretty much tried all those solutions, and since this is dozens of our players on our cluster being affected, pretty sure this is a mod.

Granted the patch had to have directly broken said mod, so we don't know how to proceed atm.

The other thing tripping us up, and believe me I know why they protect their .dmp files, proprietary stuff, etc. is that we can't look directly at the .dmp file because of that lol, which would give us a pretty straight forward answer on what's going on lol.

I tried reaching out to Zen Rowe already, thought he might have some insight, but it's Saturday and I'm sure he's hiding from the world, I would be if I was actively working in a studio and it was my day off. 😛

My friend made a server and edited the GameUserSettings.ini to remove some engrams, using OverrideNamedEngramEntries, but now the engram list is taking a few seconds to open and the FPS drops when it is open. I looked it up and seems like a common issue when the engram list is edited.
Is there any way to edit the engram list so that it doesn't cause this issue?

Hi guys, I am in search for a mod that allows me to tame the vanilla alpha creatures. Although I haven't tested them yet, there are some mods that add alpha variants to a lot of dinos but either don't touch the vanilla alphas (meaning they remain untamable) or disable them. If any of those mods can be configured to only spawn their equivalents of the vanilla alpha dinos and take the vanilla alphas out of the game (meaning I won't encounter untamable alphas on the map), that may also do the job (although I would prefer tamable vanilla alphas).
It's important to me that the mod either doesn't add any other functionality to the game or can be configured to disable such. Does anybody know a stable mod that fulfills these requirements? I'm playing on the Island (so the mod only needs to support the vanilla alphas from that map).

Couldn't test that yet, but first the description says "normal non-tameable creatures" and also the list of "all creatures this mod affects" doesn't include any alpha creatures.

Found a more detailed description of the mod, where it says the following:
The goal of the mod is to rework the non-tameable creatures to be more in line with ARK's vanilla tameable creatures - "untameable variant" creatures will mostly not be included in this mod as they already have a tameable counterpart, as well as many of the untameable variants being heavily unbalanced like the Alphas and Corrupt creatures. There are enough unbalanced variant mods on the workshop already.

Nah myrme very specifically does not touch the alphas/corrupted etc, since for alphas they're literally just normal dinos but recoloured. It's targeted at the actually unique ones

What made me want this mod primarily are the size, stats and the color, but the particles just like wild alphas would also be kinda cool, so you have my full support adding that :D
Also let's talk about the taming process. What I imagined, is that the taming should work just as it does with the non-alpha counterpart. Implementation of Raptor, Carno, Rex, Meg should be easy, Tuso ofc a bit more difficult because of the unique mechanic. Also I'm not sure with the Leedsichthys, since even the non alpha variant isn't tamable so I'd make an exception there.

Last I heard wild dinos only spawn on the Island and Centre if you are in prim + aside from that no spawns. I believe it is a bug

Possibly just a temp issue. It happened on official once that's when I stopped playing. We had no wild Dino's at all on server then to really take the piss at one point when loaded in the screen would be black. Like sittin with game n headset on but with TV off. Could hear everything but see nothing. I left my stuff to decay n not been back since

Loved prim+ tbh it was the battleaxe that kept me there. Awesome weapon. But yh deffo needs some TLC. The center server I was on was an awesome place to be tbh lol anyone would of thought it was pve with how everyone got along. Til the bobs turned up n started raiding each other for stupid shit. That soon stopped when ab guys turned up 😂 then we was at war. Even the bobs did thier bit it was beautiful. Never seen such cooperation from non allies n ransoms it really was just a great time to be playing ark tbh. But after all that with the no wild Dino's n other issues I came to the official servers

In single player Prim + there is only about 7 maps that come as options.

With a Nitrado server, would I be able to make the maps not shown into prim plus (eg. extinction or even Gen 2)?

Well there are a few really good primitive styled mods

Collect a few of em together and with some InI wizardry and you should be able to do exactly what you want without breaking the game badly

Can anyone help me with this? I changed all of the engrams in the game to match my player max level. But now whenever I open my engram menu it drops my fps from 118 to 1, even freezing the game for a few seconds. Switched em all back to default to see if that was the case and it's still just as bad.

If you head to single player and press restore to default settings that will make your single player game almost at official settings.

From there you need to make sure the difficulty level is set to 1.0

Then scroll down and make sure singleplayer settings is disabled and maximum difficulty is applied
