Doing a couple of test servers. I use the clusterID and I am able to see the other map and transfer. However, when I get to the destination map, it makes me create new character. What am I doing wrong?
it's not able to write the data it needs so the other server can pick it up and use it
or the other server can't read it
they need to share a directory

I used the cluster folder for each map on each directory.
It needs to just be ONE directory
how I have mine setup: my maps are hosted in docker containers, each has it's own cluster directory. that cluster directory in each is connected to a common directory on the host. when files appear in the cluster directory of one they are available in the other
they can be separate directories, but you need to sync them in some way
I've done it with syncthing across the net before and had it working on ASE with a friend
I shared the directory and boom. Fixed. Thanks man... just needed some guidance.

Whats the deal with the likes of Games, Glam, and Guns (Sample), is this a mod you only load on a client or on the server side to unlock the skins for players?
@fossil onyx that's a client side mod...anything with skins for players or structures will be client side unless it includes stuff the server has to load, such as the dear jane mod...which has explorer notes it loads for players to find.
Makes sense, i had ended up loading it on the server the day it came out and forgot about it. Until today that is when i finally took each mod off 1 by 1 to figure out which was killing my servers on start up.
i currently run a nitrado server where i recently put ark omega premium mod and i play asa using game pass on pc i opened the game try to join my server it tells me i need to buy a the omega mod so i do that and i have the confirmation email but when i go back into the game it still asks me to buy the mod instead of installing what i paid for and letting me join my server any suggestions on how to fix this ?
Anyone else have a hosted server and only getting like 3-4 wyvern spawns total in the trench...? i remember on old ASE SE there use to be atleast 12-15wyvs

I bought it from my browser that opened from in game i tried to join my server and it asked me to by the mod so i clicked the button that opened chrome and then redirected me
this is the same on my server and I've noticed the same on a few Livestreams I've watched
I only asked because you’re using the PC gamepass version. Premium mods aren’t available for Xbox users yet because it’s going through Microsoft certification, so I would have thought it would be the same for PC gamepass users. My guess would be the mod version you bought has compatibility issues with the PC gamepass version if it wasn’t bought through the Microsoft store.

okay so setting it to read-only was the key, but it's not stopping the items from appearing in loot crates. Any way to do that via ini, or does that need a mod?

So I having a problem. Me and my sister are trying to play ark together. But Everytime I try to join her and vice versa on a non dedicated server it keeps timing out
non-dedi does that, gotta keep trying.
restarting the game and joining a server first then trying the non-dedi can help.

Updated my unofficial server to 39.32 and everything was wiped except for my character. Anybody else get this issue?

does anyone know why you have to always move your game before playing it? like i have it installed but i always have to transfer my data before every single session. I have no idea what its cause is. it always takes an hour to play ASA sadly

So I’ve been playing on an unofficial server on SE since its launch and up until recently I can’t find it. The servers up to date and it turns out for whatever reason the servers name was changed to ARK with a random number. It was changed back to its intended name but I still can’t find it. Was wondering if anyone has encountered this problem and if they’ve managed to fix it. Thanks!
The save has corrupted and wiped everything. Restore a backup as close to just before you noticed it first go missing.
I am noticing a lot of people with Nitrado servers are having similar issues. Additionally, our server version is ahead of the most recent console version...
I legitimately blame early access for that because it’s happened twice to me now on ASA but only a couple times over several years on ASE. To your second point, the server version will likely always be ahead of the client version, as long as the major version is the same it’s usually all good.
This is the first time we've had an issue like this with the server, especially the shenanigans like it renaming itself.
thats a nitrado issue, nitrado doesn't like to change settings

Hi I am having an issue with nitrado setting.
I select the wipe dinos on restart check box, but no dinos are not wiped with he nightly reset and it gets unchecked.
We've done several restarts. However my server renamed itself...
did you wait 5 minutes before and after you changed it?

Last night a wee bit longer (because I honestly forgot about it).
they said it renamed itself not wiped. if its wiping then the server probably isn't saving at all or a mod is messing something up.
I didn't even consider the mods.
Either way, from my experience the server has wiped each time it’s happened, not just renamed. Like all the config settings reset not just the map name.
The rest of my settings appear to be correct

probably should talk to nitrado support then. if everything is resetting then its nitrado that is having issues.

That’s not really a Nitrado issue as such. ASA removed an ini setting from ASE that could bypass the tickbox on Nitrado and wipe dinos on restart every time without manually stopping the server.
what do you mean by this? the -ForceRespawnDinos commandline was removed?
the wiki says it still exists.
ServerAutoForceRespawnWildDinosInterval=<value> doesn’t work on ASA. I used that on ASE on Nitrado to bypass having to manually stop the server and tick the ForceRespawnDinos box
hmm, the wiki has a ? for that. if you are manually doing it then just run the destroywilddinos command tho.
I’m just saying what worked on ASE for Nitrado doesn’t work on ASA. I got around it on ASA by installing the Automated Dinowipes mod. Works better than the ini ever did because you can customise what gets wiped and schedule them too.
it probably isn't in ASA. that mod sounds better anyway tho.

It’s weird that it’s not. It worked a charm on ASE but then we didn’t have mods on console so we took what we had. This mod even has an option to wipe nest eggs, it’s great.

Just default, unless you specifically want pve/pvp and flyers carrying wilds.

Just go through the settings then and check pvp. Turn off/on autodecay if you want that, etc.

What's the best way to do a cluster, when the transfer server don't show up to transfer to, they are both on the same server, running ports 7777,7779 query 27105, 27017
a little bit of info also, we can connect to the island map using IP:port with no issues, but never see it in the server list, and if trying to transfer the other map server isn't there
this is on the local LAN also not across the internet
Does anyone know how to change the maximum number of generators you can have, we have a pretty massive base, and already have 3 and we're trying to get a 4th one going, I don't see the option in Game.ini or in gameusersettings.ini, I added limitgeneratornumber=0 and limitgeneratorrange=100 in my game.ini but it didn't work

but otherwise there is a mod that adds boosters you can use instead.

Both my wife and I can connect to the Island map which is what we started on but can only connect if we start ark hit ` and run the open LAN IP:port to connect
not sure, I run my server on a PC instead of a an actual server.
I can even transfer on lan which never worked on ASE.
Both servers are up and running, what's odd is I never had this issue with ASE, I had I think 3-4 up and running and could transfer with no issues across the LAN
The only changes were I was running Server 2012, but had to upgrade to 2019 with palworld, etc requiring the newer server version OS
and a new ISP, which should not impact the LAN connections at all
all ports are forwarded on the server and also the router since I did have friends that would connect from outside before with ASE
I could not see the server at all or connect till I ran that one command for certs that seemed to at least fix where we can connect to the server with that IP:port command now but still having issues
I had the server given to me from a friend that I used to work with, so I figured might as well put it to use lol

ASE: Is there anyway at all to allow decay on PVE but NOT ALLOW players to destroy structures or claim dinos at the timers end?
I seriously do not understand on PVE why it allows dinos to be claimed or bases to be destroyed... when the structures are auto deleted when server resets anyway.
How do you enable single player settings on the server?

I would like to extend the time before destroying structures is possible in PVE.
Also some clever kids have fun leaving their dinos in reproduction 24 hours a day... I would like to increase the difficulty so that if they don't take care of them they don't become adults. (I don't know if it's clear :D)

Specifies the scaling factor for structures decay times, e.g.: setting it at 2.0 will double all structure decay times, while setting at 0.5 will halve the timers
As for the dino issue you have couple choices, either increase baby food consumption rate , or increase overall maturation rate.
use the beacon ark omni app, the free version will allow you to setup breeding mutip-liers an see the effect on each dino, much easier

Anybody having an issue where everytime you add a mod it puts server in a restart loop and when you go to remove said mod again server is still doing the restart loop?

My settings have not been messed with at all, all we did was add a mod and it did it (assuming it was a bad mod) I removed it server kept restarting in a loop and now I have to do a backup each time I try to add a mod bc now every mod I add causes the server to be in a restart loop even after I remove it
Guys how do i hatch eggs? I tried to put them close to a fire it didnt work
So, I have ran my own dedicated ASE servers in the past. Used to work fine. I try setting up an ASA Island/Scorched cluster. I can connect directly using ip:port address in the command window from main menu. Battlemetrics sees the server online. Servers do not show up in server list in game. I cannot add servers to favorites via ip in steam. I cannot connect to servers over wifi on local network. I cannot connect to servers over WAN.
I have contacted my ISP, no help. They do not block ports or use a Carrier Grade NAT. I contacted Netgear and they helped me troubleshoot for around two hours, trying to find an issue in router settings to no avail.
I have done everything as I should including setting up firewall rules. Is there a guru here that can help me?
i think you wont be able to add favourite in steam as asa now uses eos , epic online services, not steam for servers .
asa servers are kinda fussy about there commandlines, sometimes things work some times dont, alot the servers i see are using either wrong or outdated commands .
start simple , use simple commands and see where u get at , a classic example is ?port=xxxx wont always work, -port=xxxx always seems to work .
so alot people think there server is running xxxx port they set but in fact its just running default ports.
maybe share start commandline if u want, just xxxxx any data u dont want to share

check on battlemetrics ,see what actual port the servers are running, likely 7777 udp and 7778

no they dont need it at all, the query port was for ase steam servers, asa runs on eos , they only need a udp forwarded that is set with ?port= or mostly -port=
luckily ?port= works for you , it wont for a lot people, especially if there on home versions of windows
I'm going to change it anyway, does ASA use peer ports as ASE did? eg. port listed at 7777 but forwarded ports required were 7777 and 7778
not as far as i know , i run mine on 7777 island, 7778 scorched, 7779 svart , no issues

ughh, i cant really help with that soz, im terrible at networking. i just know they need what ever port u set with -port=xxxx forwarded through the inbound firewall on computer and through the router/what ever between you and internet

I have a loopback adapter set up on the desktop running the server. I do not have it setup on the laptop
i get timeout error on both servers, its always been a port forward issue for me in the past when i seen that .
double check the port you are using for each server is forwarded in udp

when i first install and run a server it also asks me if i want to allow the arkascendedserver.exe through, i always say yes, not sure if thats important or not if specifying ports .
i will have to test next time i have free time if saying no messes it up

That's all I get when I launch the server.
I should have the ports forwarded properly... but that's not the issue. It's not even starting the server properly it seems.
if the batch terminal is not closing and you can see the server in task manager (windows) or top (Linux) and you see Number of cores in log, it generally is running
If you cant see the server in game its either a filter wrong on the client, or your ports are getting blocked. You should see it on the battle metrics website which is useful to test listings
Also, with how you've setup your password, it's making the Server Password : -----?ServerAdminPassword=----?Port=7777?QueryPort=27015?MaxPlayers=20
Because you've specified the password as everything after it. Use: ?ServerPassword="Password"?
So either move your password to the GameUserSettings.ini under [ServerSettings] or change the formatting within the command line args.
If you cant see it in listings its a networking, generally a port issue

Remove the server password from your command line arguments to the GameUserSettings.ini under [ServerSettings] as I've stated, if you go to that file you will see everything after your password is written there. So It's not even applying the network configs you've specified
It doesn't get to the point it MAKES a GameUserSettings.ini

Im dumb. Okay. How to transfer said lines? IE, under which header
no it doesn't log anything else except for garbage collection or hiccups, on ASE and ASE, that log generally mens the process is running. So its not crashing or stopping.
But its known if your comman line formatting is wrong, the server can prevent the network portz from listening
So important to wrap strings in quotes, like passwords and more importantly, session name.
In your startup, add quotes around it. if using a bat or PowerShell script you may need to escape it like SessionName= \"Revival\" etc
In your commandline in log you can see there are no quotes around those and its a known bug that the server fails to listen on ports if those are incorrectly parsed

Then find ServerPassword= in there, make the password what you want, then remove the ?ServerPassword=? entirely from your bat file

It also lists the map as "ShooterEntry"
If that's the case, change your query port to 27016 instead. Your steam Client automatically uses 27015, so if your game and your server are on the same query port within the same machine then you'll have that issue They're separate machines
Alright, I'll give that a shot.
Still invalid. Steam is not running on the pc attempting to host. (Two seperate PCs)
Hmm. My final solution would be to disable the Firewall on the hosting PC and see if that fixes the problem, could be a blocked port or program.
I've never once seen an invalid authentication token error before, something isn't right
I'd forgotten to tell Norton to piss off with its firewall, but even then when turning it and windows defender off it still errored
I'm getting a connection timeout error a bit after the invalid token error.
I Just tried flushing the DNS cache
You can always attempt to disable BattlEye by putting "-NoBattlEye" without quotes at the end of the batch file and seeing if that has any affect

I'm officially out of ideas then. If the ports are forwarded, not blocked by a firewall, battlEye is disabled, and the bat file is configured properly then by all means it should work

Okay that's pretty hilarious, I thought it was originally Aberration_WP, and missed the mispelling of Aberration after verifying it wasn't _WP

Hi, while working on my server today I suddenly cannot see items inside anything else's inventory but myself, if I try to move an item it also disapears. From what I can tell it's not affecting the other members in my tribe but I can't see anything, even engrams in crafting stations.
Anybody know this or how to fix?

easiest would be nitrado...but it's not the best. Setting up for single player settings just requires using bUseSingleplayerSettings=True that would be done through the nitrado interface. There are other options other than nitrado though, but you would have to set it up yourself

small tribe seems to be:
4.5x XP, Harvesting, and Taming.
4x Breeding (imprint, maturation, hatch/gestation).
0.5x Mating Interval.

Our nitrado server isn't showing up in the unofficial list, we have both Xbox and steam players who for the last few days can't find the server in the list. Everything appears OK on the nitrado site - what else should I trouble shoot or try and restart a few more times?

Imprint every minute, but total number of imprints is baseline + 0 or 1 (due to rounding).
For example a Dilo normally takes 2 imprints, but with these settings they may take 3 due to rounding.
What this allows for is doing all your imprinting back to back easily. You can spend 5 minutes fully imprinting your dilo at the start, or an hour in, or just before it's fully grown.

Can’t overstate the usefulness of this. You can easily scan down the lists to make sure 100% tames are possible with your settings.

I just wanted to comment in case someone else was having similar issues as us last night (server not showing up, name changed randomly) that we put in a ticket with Nitrando and they sorted it within 24 hours with no data lost for us.

Single player for me is nearly unplayable. If I pick up or cryo a dino, I have to hard save immediately after just in case it crashes. Currently can’t TP back after I beat the spider. Crashes every time.

After transferring to SE on clustered server characters as well as the dinos brought no longer gain xp. Also dino stats are lowered.
Lower stats normally happen when settings are edited (boosted) on one of the maps and not the other
on my server imprinting takes 8 hours per, how do i lover this? my setting is BabyCuddleIntervalMultiplier=0.0001
It’s a combination of factors. I’d recommend using Beacon to calculate them to make sure you get 100% imprinting.

by ark server manager I am using epic games my friends and I are connected through radmin vpn I select host local then I go to run a non dedicated server and then my friend uses the /open ip command but nothing is happening it says host pending conection timeout

Hey so I have an issue here. I have been trying to rent a server for hours and I'm stuck in numerous endless loops. On the app I click to recharge, I select the amount and then I have no more options... so no card details from me then. Nitrado do you want my money or not???
On the website (on mobile using desktop site) I click to recharge and I asks for log in. After that it wants some details such as my name. The confirm button t the bottom does nothing. Again, nitrado, do you even want my money?? What a terrible website and app.

How do you tell the difference between "Premium" and normal mods? I have regretfully rented a Nitrado server and I can't tell them apart. I had finished assembling my load-order and server configurations to introduce a few friends to Ark for the first time and while attempting to launch and test the server stability it immediately asked me for 20$ on top of the 80$ I dropped to rent the sever. I'd like to deselect the paid mods as I won't ask my friends to fork up 100$ just to play with me but I cannot for the life of me tell them apart. I'd REALLY like to avoid having to shut down/relaunch the server/game for each individual mod. Any tips?

I have the game loaded and on "Join" you are prompted with "1 x $1 Mods : Total $20". No clear distention across Nitrado, CursedForge or the game.
what mods are you using? you have to check the mod browser ingame. when joining a server it should also tell you the mods. should have a crown over it.
The crown only appears over the server name. Not any mod specifically, I can get you a list if you'd like but I'd hate to inconvenience anyone with my issues. Is there a website I can use to cross reference them myself?

currently trying to figure out how to decrease the creature care timer. no matter what ive changed its always 24 hours. we do not want to wait 24 hours for creatures to grow up. especially if we want to imprint them. using nitrado.
the best thing for breeding settings is ark beacon omni app/program ,
use it to configure the breeding exactly how u want, it tells u what each setting does and shows the effect on every dino if u change it .
once u have the settings how u want , stop server, wait 5 mins, change them in your game.ini , save settings , restart server .
Be aware it only affects new eggs /babies born into the world, any old ones in the world will still have the old settings

Once you’ve set up using the beacon app, it gives you the option to post the configuration lines, you then copy and paste the config directly to Nitrado on the game.ini page found in settings>config files>game.ini

There’s several affect taming and mature speeds. And they go in game.ini and gameusersettings.ini

You don’t have to. I made my own database to calculate breeding/imprinting settings through internal testing. I’ve only ever used beacon for dino loot tables, everything else I manage manually through the wiki server settings. Beacon just does it for you, it’s an invaluable tool.

you're missing two commands I had when I got Gigantoraptors to spawn on SE:
NPCsToSpawnPercentageChance=(1),
ManualSpawnPointSpreadRadius=1500
I set the former to just control the percentage chance by the Entry Weight.
I set the latter so they are spread out a bit and are more randomly placed.
- I took a shot in the dark on whether or not the Spawn Containers for SE would be the same for Canyons on ASA as ASE...luckily, it worked, it may or may not work for all the containers...YMMV. It would be good to report back on what Spawn containers actually work for ASA.
You'll probably need to modify the values of the entry weights....as those values you have are rather high. Look at the values for Scorched on the spawn entries page

The highest you see is 1....such as for the Thyla in the Badlands. If you set it to something like 1000...you're basically not going to give any other creature a very high chance to spawn. I would bet with your settings you're going to have a lot of each of those creatures spawning....like a lot. More than you probably actually want.

yeah in the game.ini. I think the biggest thing stopping the spawns is not using the blueprint path. It would probably work for a creature that naturally spawns on SE, but not for creatures not native to SE. You have to give the blueprint path so it knows where to get the creature from

I am having Issues with breeding was breeding two rexes that have already been bred lvl 1000 and the child came out to be around 900 is there something I was doing wrong or coding wrong?
You can try using the spawn container I used for my gigantoraptor ini entry....just replace the NPCSpawnEntriesContainerClassString with "SE_DinoSpawnEntriesCanyons_C" for one of your entires. If it works the creature will start spawning in the central canyons of the map. I would just try it on one to see if you can get it added to that spawn container and have it spawn. I know that container works as I got gigantoraptors spawning on my SE for ASA

They can play like normal but after awhile they just get disconnected randomly

issue occurs when i attempt to transfer
i get to see the map and it tells me to pick a spawn point, but when i click spawn survivor, the spawn button becomes downloading and gets stuck... i've tried restarting my client and both of the clustered servers. the cluster dir override and cluster IDs match between the two servers
clicking create new character allows me to click a button for respawn existing survivor, but doing that returns me to the map to select spawn point, but the spawn button says respawn (random location) but is disabled
Both servers have read/write access to the dir you set

Both servers on same computer? You check it's making a file in that folder when you try to transfer
Not sure then, only time I seen that problem was from when one of the servers could not read the file the other one put in the cluster dir

Im running a nitrado server for Scorched Earth and we are 107 days into the game map. Can someone help me and tell me what might be the reason that Wyverns arent spawning in the World Scar. Ive tried to restart the server and destroywilddinos command but nothing seems to be working
Not sure if this is the place to ask about this, why are the water veins all over my scorched map “dried up”? Any water vein I approach just looks like a sandy pit and a well can’t be placed. I do know I can spawn in the vein using commands but maybe someone knows of a fix so I don’t have to respawn every single vein.

Looks like the Rustic structure mod is broken, just tried logging into the server and all storages and doors from the mod are gone, tried restarting the server to see if an update but nothing that I could tell

That's usually a mod loading issue. Check the server logs if it loads the mod actually. For good measure delete the mod folder on your server when it's shut down before starting again. That forces it to redownload all mods
beacon omni app/program makes it super easy, pretty sure free version can do that too iirc

asa only uses a udp port to connect and play , 7777 is default, this shud be forwarded through windows firewall, inbound, i do outbound too but prob not nesercary , any other antivirus software u might be using and through the router .

-port=7777 isnt needed really as defaults to 7777 but i left it there incase u ever want to change it in future is easy to do so . I wrap the server name an password in quotes as they will work then if they have spacs in them , will not work with spaces if no quotations. i also set the admin password as the last ?<commandhere> as othr wise it dont always work

queryport is the old ase steam server port , asa uses eos and only needs udp port that is set via -port=xxxx
the queryport was just used for the ase server to connect to steam an show in server listings afaik

Me and my friend are using a nondedicated server to play, when we tried to play abberation whenever we entered a new area it did the pull/teleport to host thing no matter the distance set between us. (Its the same way with caves on other maps. We both have to go since Ill be teleported anyway.) Does anyone know a way to fix that?

Today it says he need to make a new character... i can go in to the game and see him sleep in his bed. What can i do to help him. He is on Console
You can also setup a whitelist if you want...so your players don't need a password to connect (remove the server password if you do this)

Take a backup of the server. Eliminate mods one by one to determine which which is causing it. Can do it without the backup but you might lose stuff.
We are unable to run a dedicated server since we each only have one pc. Is there another server type that could change that?
if one of the pc is good enough can play game and run server, just need learn how set it up , if not rent a server from nitrado(easiest option) or rent from anywhere and setup your self.

of course, that doesn't mean it doesn't, just that no one that has tried to use it has edited the wiki to confirm it works...as I am doing with ConfigAddNPCSpawnEntriesContainer right now, which does work on ASA.
On a dedicated unofficial server, we've been noticing since the SE release that unrendered babies ignore maturation rates for growth and as a result grow very very slow when unrendered. For instance, our rates are 10x maturation, so for instance a Theri takes 11.5 hours to fully grow. But when growing completely unrendered, after 12 hours, the baby has barely made it in juvenile stage. No server downtime, no rollbacks.
Anyone else experiencing this issue? Tried searching around to see if there were other reports of it and possible fixes, but couldn't find anything.
I'm the only one that plays on my server right now, so when I disconnect, all my growing babies are out of render. They grow as expected though. I'll usually plop down a baby at night and by the time I reconnect it's fully grown. There doesn't appear to be any pause when server empty on ASA, or anything for hibernation on dedicated servers.

you could use the dlss enabler mod on nexusmods to replace dlss with FSR3 though...which allows for frame generation and there is no limit to 40 series cards.

An access violation error message isnt a ban btw. Just to clear that up. Its actual extremely common error message and has nothing to do with your gameplay status. A ban would give you a pop up window stating the ban.

Can't place any GDG structures or the dino depot stuff. Some of Klingers structures too.
Went into GCM to see if a fresh structure would help but then those started placing as other mod items entirely. Tried to place the dino depot storage box and it places a JVH Landscaping mod tree.

I've been looking for such a mod...as development has stalled on Super structures (supposed to be back this month). All the options I've found seems to be broken in some way. I have a partial solution using peyloris cryo mod. It at least will pick up babies for me. It can also grow and imprint babies, similar to the nanny. I have not used those options yet, so I don't know how well they work. I use it only as a baby auto-pickup system.

I ask the community about experiences about the RAM consumption of the server.
I plan to fit ASA cluster, preferably Island, Scorched Earth and the upcomming Center in one machine. It will have 8 core (Ryzen 7000 or 8000, 4.2Ghz+ ) and 64 GB RAM. The cluster will have 10-20 active users spread on those maps, several hundreds tames and PVE setting.
Can this machine run this in a performant way or I need to target more RAM.

one thing i always bring up, Ark (ASE and ASA) functions really well on Virtual Ram too. On average an instance uses about 8-12GB RAM at a time so you're looking at about that x 3 ( each map)
Dont be afraid to throw another 64GB as Virtual RAM.
I run a two map cluster with just 8GB physical and added anouther 64GB as VRAM and it works a dream.
I have only 1-5 players.
CPU is likely the biggest factor. I run a small 4 core and it works perfectly for us.
Think when you push around 20+ users is where things get intense CPU-wise

Dedicated means it’s a server running on a PC and not just someone inviting you to play in their game on their PC or console. It runs all the time and not just while playing.
You have official dedicated, which is Nitrado. Then you have unofficial dedicated like the one I run on my own server

I mean the server browser in steam was for Survival Evolved (ASE).
If you are running your own dedicated server, I would recommend
- don’t run it on the same PC as your game unless you use a port other than 7777 and have a load of RAM (32GB or more).
- check your ports are set correctly.
- check your firewall allows the ports through in both directions
- check your router is forwarding the ports you set up to your server
in your Steam app for the desktop go to view then game servers that is what I am talking about and the ports are all done right I have checked and checked like 8 times but for your point 1 what do you mean I should change the port from 7777
I mean if you run the game from the same pc as your server, they will argue over who gets to use port 7777
There is no server list in steam for ASA, it’s all in game now and managed by Epic, not by Steam.

If I config Paleo Ark to just spawn its creatures, it won't affect Acro spawns right? the config just makes it guaranteed Paleo Creature spawn (ASE)

XBOX Players complains a lot that they only see stars ****** in the chat. I tried to turn off the chat filter (even it should be deactivted by default) bFilterChat=False but it doesn't help. Any other ideas?

Are you stopping the server before making the ini change? Do you have serverPVP also set in your ini? Or PreventTribeAlliances? If so, what are they set to?
Yes add MaxTributeDinos=20 and MaxTributeItems=50 within that section, obviously replacing 20 and 50 with whatever numbers you're looking for. The wiki says not to go over 273 for Dinos or 154 for Items though, for reference.

Sure, no worries. For reference I don't have much experience with Beacon/Nitrado specifically but I run my own self-hosted dedicated server so we should be able to figure it out even if it takes a little longer

you both need to be on the same platform, ie xbox and xbox , or ps5 and ps5 .
if your are both on same it is still a bit hit an miss, some isp block incoming connections, so might be worth you hosting and have friend try join
So with Nitrado, double check that all those settings are set correctly in the General settings page as well as your ini. Nitrado will default to the General settings page if the 2 places conflict. So be sure that page is in line with your ini.
I checked their ini file earlier and the PreventOfflinePvP variable wasn't actually in there anywhere to be found, presumably from not having stopped the server entirely before changing it. There was also a few other variables that were probably causing issues due to being doubled/tripled and/or in some cases just not being an actual variable name at all.

ASA is crossplay on all platforms. the servers themselves decide if platforms can play. win10 is often disabled due to no anticheat on PvP including officials.

Anyone know what happened to DinoCountMultiplier for ASA ini files? Just set up my Nitrado server, and spawns are very sparse with dinos to tame/kill for food.
Takes about half an hour for everything to finish spawning in if you are starting from fresh.
That setting is generally duplicated in the ini and wouldn't cause a crash. Can you post a screenshot of the error you're getting?

I've been having an issue on my server, people are complaining about no gigas spawning. How can you fix this because u haven't seen any either I think I've seen a carcharo once but that's it and don't they share spawn points?

Majors we always get but they can be 30min to 4+ hours after officials get them

Definitly a mod, i tested on a map with no mods and it works perfectly
no issues after my first freeze. on my servers I swapped Super Structures Ascended for QOL+, just to make the switch, not troubleshoot or anything. No issues after doing that, though I don't know the status of SSA after the patch.

look for the steamdb link in the pinned comments, to the dedicated server page for it....when the public branch gets updated, then you can update your server. nitrado has it's own system though. This only applies to non-nitrado unofficial servers

After the big patch, go to the island coords 91,7 / 50,5 and observe your Server-FPS (setCheatPlayer 1) and CPU usage (taskmanager).
The Server-FPS drops from 30 to around 5-10! The CPU goes from 3-5% usage to 40-50%

Found the issue! Massive overspawn in the caves. Over 72k wild dinos on the map! We restart the server every day incl. dino wipe.
Now i did a manual wipe and the server fps are more stable now. This needs to be fixed.
yeah cave spawns have always been an issue on low pop servers. normally they are regularly run, so they get cleared out. low pop servers don't run them as often....so it becomes an issue you have to mitigate

If you configure something like Google Drive to sync the game folder(s) it will save up to 100 file versions each time the file is saved that you can restore later. E.g. TheIsland_WP.ark would save a new version in the file history every time the file was modified (in this instance, every time an autosave or saveworld happened in game, so at least every 15 minutes by default), and you can pick from those which to restore from.

Google Drive is free for up to 15gb of storage, which should be plenty for your save file(s). From there you can go up to 100gb of space if needed for $1.99/mo

Help me pleace, i have a error in ARK Survival Evolved, What happens is that it doesn't let me play the nitrated servers and tells me "union failed, the address could not be recovered" I'm almost sure it's something on my wifi although I don't know what it is, my wifi is very fast but I don't know what the problem is 😦 I have a year with this problem, I don't know what to do
My servers have been down since April waiting for the patch (and I was off playing other games). Getting a crash on my ASA scorched earth map on startup. after the patch it came up and was stable. then after I was done taking care of things with my main on the island, I switched over to my alt on scorched. I had died in the spot I spawned. Nothing on me. Shortly after that I lost connection to host. I decided to restore from a backup in April. Now my server crashes every time I startup. Running the same mods on it as I am on the island
It's back to the same thing. Every update, love that in the laundry list of 90% SE issues, this wasn't one of the fixes. Servers rollercoastering

Jw, I have a server that is updated to (v41.23) but the xbox players who are updated can't see or connect to it. They say that the xbox version is on (v41.18) and they can not see any server including mine. I can see it and connect on the windows 10 version though? Is there any way I can fix this or is this an issue everyone is having?

after a big update mods are frequently the cause of server issues
duplicate those mods on single player and process of elimination will tell you which one it is.

my general rule for stuff like that is get rid of any that you know you may not use first, otherwise just get rid of 1 at a time, and keep restarting the server until it stays up and then you can rinse and repeat while re adding them when you find the problem mod, you can also try to do it on singleplayer but ive never had much luck doing it that way

Usually the structures mods are guilty, but they did a bunch of visual updates in that patch. So could be alot of things unfortunately.
So I just did that and now am left with the same mods as another server had, still my server keeps going down, what could it be now?

yay....got back in my character on scorched earth. Not sure what it was. Made a backup of the character profile. Took those files off server (no other player profiles on the server, and just my tribe) and transferred my island character over. Found my alt character's sleeping body in the base there. Tried to move it, but that crashed the server. Reconnected with main to my scorched server after it came back up. Didn't try to move my alt again. Transferred my main back to the Island. Restored the back up of my character profile, but deleted the tribute file (had nothing stored there anyway). Was able to load it and connect using my alt on scorched. Shortly after that though....a few minutes, the server crashed again.
you may need to delete the save file rq or just try and repair the server, nitrado should have a button to do that, cant remember what menu it would be under though

for some reason the transfer looks like it works but when it pulls the next server it doesn't show a character to download or spawn with, downloads/uploads have all been enabled and notributedownloads have been set to false on all servers, I can't quite figure out why it's not wanting to work

likely a permissions issue with the source serve not able to write to the cluster directory, or the destination not able to read from it

it didn't I double checked that prior the notributes are set to false, all preventuploads and downloads as well, the cluster ID works fine because our servers show up in the ob and you can transfer to however when it comes to spawning its not there to download
100% recheck your ini files, on all servers, asa loves to randomly wipe them back to default for fun

From what Ive heard, several people removed it without issues. None vanishing. Still spawning. Same BP path as well which leads me to believe its true.

Question pertains to unofficial, admin commands and the notorious 50/50
On a daily basis usually after server refresh, admins will clear 50/50 of Dino's and structures with the Killaoe structures/Dino command.
In my time doing this since ASA came out this works well, but I have come across 4 individual structures (2 on each map) that are simply to the best of my knowledge... are Indestructible!!! And are still there to this day, can not remove them, redgun, kill commands, claim and demo, tried everything we know.
