You could try The Hunted. It's still a bit of a challenge but not quite so intense on your laptop.

Is there a server setting that slows down how fast a wild dino wakes up?

Example: 150 wild theri needs 500 narcs to tame out, but want to see if there's a setting to make it only 100

For that example, you can just increase the taming speed.

You can increase it at a small amount. Another option you can tinker with is increasing hunger. It won't take less berries but it will be faster.

Hmm that’s the thing there’s is no way of running more then one map at a time for Xbox/windows unless you rent from nitrado ect , that’s why I’m asking , because at the moment we’re just jumping from one map to another n have make a new character all over again

You will need to make a line of code for each level. Meaning if you want 750 player levels it will need 750 lines

Many event assets were removed over the last year to reduce arks final size for the closeout version. Many special models and some items no longer appear as intended. All holiday cosmetics are available in the hlna store

@umbral horizon for you, you may be able download a mod to add back some of these assets

'Giving all servers in your cluster their own config files'
Normally, there is only one set of ini files to configure all servers on your cluster. Follow these instructions to give each server on your cluster their own set of config files. This took a lot of time and some help from chat gpt to work out. This is dumbed down enough so even I can understand it.

Everything inside dashes is the script, copy into bat file to run. Make sure the directories at the top fit your use case.

Below "IF NOT EXIST "%CLUSTER%" MKDIR "%CLUSTER%", copy and paste for every server instance, leave everything the same except "Set Server=" to your server identifyer/server name.

This works with existing clusters already set up, the binaries folder where your launch bat files are, now has a shortcut in each virtual server directory. When you launch you servers, Make sure you launch from the virtual server directory.

For example:

Correct launch directory:
c:\SteamCMD\steamapps\common\SERVER1\ShooterGame\Binaries\Win64

Incorrect launch directory:
c:\SteamCMD\steamapps\common\ARK Survival Evolved Dedicated Server\ShooterGame\Binaries\Win64

Lastly, make sure the gameusersettings.ini file is blank in the directory:
c:\SteamCMD\steamapps\common\ARK Survival Evolved Dedicated Server\ShooterGame\Saved\Config\WindowsServer

Youd need closer to 32 to host a official snapshot save.

You can delete player data files from the server files that arent people using the server. Then you can fly around and manually remove structures.

All you have to do is to turn them on. We've had a different event on each map for the last 4 years. It's coded into the game and all you have to do is turn them on. When WC runs an event, that event AND the event you have turned on, BOTH run.

I have my max lvl set to 180

I assumed that tek dinos on my server would be 210, I remember seeing higher than 210.

To calculate the max dino, egg, and tek, levels that are max before tame it's,
30x difficulty level(ours is 10) for max normal
36x difficulty level for tek dino max wild
38x difficulty level for egg max level
45x difficulty level for max crystal wyvern egg

Hello,
me and my friends wanted to host our own modded Ark server. However, due to my internet connection bein a ds-lite connection, I can't use port-forwarding. That's why we decided to use hamachi instead. However, this did not work in combination with Ark.
We experimented using a Minecraft Server with hamachi which did work and we were all able to connect to it, but Ark remained a problem.
Moreover, we can all find the server in steam (int the "servers" tab), but not in game. Even when we tried joining through the steam menu it did not work and gave the error message "Unable to query server info for invite".
An yes, we did update the game, the mods and windows as well as verified the integrity of our game files.

Does anyone know a solution? I have genuinely been losing my mind for the past 4 hours. Any help is appreciated.

have you done a full uninstall and reinstall after rebooting the system

I am trying to run a dedicated server with some mods, Once I have everything set up and start the server it starts up perfectly fine. Then I'll go to open my ark to join the server and it loads the mods just fine as well. Upon getting into the server, the mods don't appear to load. I'll have the engrams for the modded content but you can't learn them and none of the mod items work or the modded creatures don't load. Any ideas?

I setup a dedicated cluster on my own pc, but encountering an issue where I timeout whenever I transfer. The character still seems to get transferred but I timeout without fail when trying to transfer within game. It doesn't even seem to get to the load screen, it still shows the screen I was on with the map "frozen" in appearance but just takes me back to main menu saying timeout.

I've never had this with rented hosts so I'm assuming I did not set something up right.

My friend and I recently started a fjördur playthrough on a G Portal Dedicated server. Although not instealled yet, we plan to install S+ and Awesome Spyglass mods.

My question is, is there any way to set things up, or anything we can do to make it Crossplay Steam <--> Xbox?

For ASE specifically, mods are only on Steam. Not only are you unable to crossplay anything with Steam if there are mods, Steam and Microsoft are unable to crossplay anyway.

They'll automatically be removed once on another map.

For that you need to have a cluster directory override set so all the ark data goes to a shared folder for all servers and in your router nat loopback rules setup to play on your own network.

The better home hosted setups usually have their own server racks/hardware firewalls in place for that sort of thing. Or renting a vps host from a provider like hetzner. Like have a virtual PC to run everything off of without actually "renting" a server from Nitrado.

Other than the actual official dedicated servers instances? We don't yet know if the unofficial community will have access to the server files themselves day one but Nitrado rentals are viable. I will at some point myself but I host off my own hardware so day 1 is going to be....iffy at best dependent on the public distro.

Use beacon, it will tell you the incubation times at the bottom, before doing so find the egg that takes the longest, i think its a giga but i can't remember, i got my giga eggs to 30m and even then i get players who complain about it taking too long but beacon is a big help especially once you understand how to use it

I mean this kind of sits on your responsibility, you own it, you will need to manage it. You are going to be very hard pressed to find someone to JUST admin your random server. You need to establish a community. There are many guides online about how to do some admin things.

Are we now simply deprived of the opportunity to play ASA because we are happy with our hosts and don't want to change? What I have understood. Nitrado has a 3 year monoploy on ark servers. Self hosted servers from your own server will work. But for the first 3 years they own it.

I'm looking to see what people recommend for server hosting providers? I've used survival servers in the past but haven't been overly happy with them recently.

I liked survival servers when I first found them, but recently they've just been unreliable and the wait times to restart an ark server would take over 20 minutes..

So all the mods you subscribe to on steam get downloaded to your HD but not automatically run. When you are in your single player start screen with all the settings there will be two windows on your right. One at bottom is mods you have and one at top is mods you want to load with the map you choose. You just move the mods into the top menu and run the map you want them on. But removing the mods will remove them from your map save and so if you built with S+ structures for instance and you remove that mod when next you load the game, all your structures you made with S+ build parts will be gone.

the annoying part is if you want map specific mods and then jump between maps you have to physically write down your load order for each map and unload and reload according to the map you are on. So like an Extinction add on will kinda break if you load it with The Island and the mod list you have ruunning per specific map is not saved and not auto loaded the next time you want to play with that configuration.

Nah they shouldnt. if you exit from gameplay and go back in to those settings (where you choose your map etc) there is a tick box on your left right at the bottom of those settings that says enable creative mode, it needs to be ticked

Pending the service that you use, you can do a direct connect though it and just copy the IP address for thers to use. For instance, I go through GPortal and at the top it says Join server, I click on it and it opens a new tab and I copy the IP link from there for my community to use when nothing else works.

Hello, i have a problem. I have a PC at home with Ubuntu Server and Pterodactyl Panel installed on it. On the PT Panel I have 3 different ARK Server installed. This three servers are in a cluster. But now I have a problem, when i want to upload something the item disappears in the inventory but do not appear in the inventory from the uploaded thinks. And on the pc localy it doesnt save it as well. The directonary is /arkcluster the permissions should be right, i have set them with chmod 7777 arkcluster. The additional startup thinks from the ark server I have also importet. Can somebody help me? Where should the order be with what permissions? (Sorry if my English is not the best 😬 )

I’ve just been looking on Nintrado because I’m interested in renting a server for the new game.

I can only find pc servers on there but I’m looking to play on ps5 until steam goes crossplay. Am I right in thinking now we have crossplay, if I rent a pc server from nintrado I can play it on the ps5 with mods installed on the server?

I am sure if you wanna play with crossplay you will only be able to use the mods that wildcard will release for all platforms. If you use any incompatible mod you will not be able to activate crossplay at all. On the other side pc players allways will have smoother running game because they have insane amount of memory compared to consoles. So in pve it would be ok - but in pvp never.

Hey I was tryna play with a friend and for context I play on PC on the xbox app and he plays through steam but for some reason Idk I had an option to join Unofficial Pc Sessions just as I have when I played Ark on PS but he only had "Unofficial" which is different servers so does anybody know anything about that or how we can both be on the same servers?

This server shuts down any time there is nobody online. Would this have something to do with that and how can I fix this problem without a reïnstall and who to turn to for that ?
Nitrado support thought to have fixed the issue a few times already and it's not my configuration.

Please, I need help. I'm using Structures Plus by orionsun. I want to transfer in single player element from one of my save games to the other. There's the tek engram : Transferable Element. does not work for me. I can only transfer shards with this method. when i click to craft element it says no element and i have in inventory over 500. the mod says i have 0/1, so how do i fix this issue/bug? Any settings i need to set up for that to work?

You can activate events any time however the event items are hardcoded to only be available on the official dates such events run. So look at the events wiki for the applicable date ranges.

depending on if you have a stacking mod or not. this could be the issues
if you have element from before the stacking mod was in place. it will not be seen because of the different stack size and in game name.
