I'm not new to ark but i've mostly done pve, so in pvp why do tribes all leave their tames on passive like to me it makes more sense to have the on neutral and attack back

usually because they want to keep breeders organized, if they arnt on passive they can attack corpses of babys and get all messed up. alot of tribes do keep agressives in cave entrences and whatnot tho

adding to what the other guy said, it's also because tames could be attacked, and depending on where you are, enemy could bait your dinos into killing them outside the turret range, it's also a pain for breeder as to not to have to replace every dinos if something/someone attack.

Were auto-decay timers on official too short and brutal? Surviving solo i probably lost far more stuff to decay timers than anything else, easiest way to survive was to have lots of different spots but being forced to carefully visiting each of them every few days was tedious and dangerous.
Also the decay timers caused lots of maps to be extremely barren, no ancient bases to discover as some interesting archaeological find. I understand a big purpose for the timer is to manage spam but I think it also made things kinda sucky

Depends if there’s cryos, if there are cryos it’s gonna be ice cave, pack cave, easy underwater and just the usual caves people build in. If there’s no cryos then people will still probably build in caves but they will need breeding outposts until they get transmitters

Because once people get transmitters people are just gonna download dinos in their caves

Try pressing g as close as you can to where you think the body is to try and drag it. If that doesn’t work and it’s not above you it’s probably a goner.

I remember once that WC made a statement something along the lines of "will never release anything that's so overpowered in PvP" after so much outcry about the titans and manas on launch of Extinction. It seems like they forgot about that. There needs to be someone looking at new dinos and features from a pvper's perspective, so things like one-button aoe dismounts (owl and shadowmane) don't destroy the competitiveness of tribe pvp. And lvl 82 cloned bugs that can tank 100 turrets. imo, dismounting should be way more difficult, and more things should instead be stuns to encourage set-up plays. Instead of just net -> pocketcarcha -> profit.
