Your best bet to get to a good level is to run swamp cave on the island with a wildtame megatherium, scuba mask legs flippers + ghillie chest gloves and a broth of enlightenment

Levelling on fjordur is kind of toxic, don't do it

look up a list of 4x notes on the island, and then a "2x" just means any note that isn't one of those

rates up + 4x + 2x + broth will give you something dumb like 36x xp

broths are pretty easy to get now that fjordur lets you farm deathworms horns with a pickaxe

you technically don't need to get one, but you really should

Justi scout for an island with empty swamp cave before you pick up rhe notes + chug the broth

Getting aggro theri'd halfway through the cave is a lesson you don't want to learn the hard way lmaoo

Spider cave has the gas (attacking tribe can only wear gasmasks or they'll be chugging med brews like crazy) and a choke point but rad tree you can't use flyers or skiffs on official settings, so soaking is a bit of a challenge. You can pt spin and owl bomb the spider cave I think. It's pick and choose your poison, I suppose.

kill reaper queens for pheromones, just go into the rad zone and fight them. spino or megalosaurus best, make sure to bring a light pet to weaken her.

reaper king barb you can only get on the surfaces so go when it's night. if you have access to a skiff I'd grab a seeker in a tractor beam and just fly around with it. reaper kings have a low spawn rate but you'll be able to see the alpha buff on the seeker if there's one before it pops up out of the ground. same as the queen, light pet necessary and a good spino/megalosaurus will make good work of it

To preface this, I just want to say this is my personal opinion (I'm a discord volunteer and I play the game too), but I both disagree and agree with this. I think there should be some type of active enforcement (i.e. if a server is capped due to PVP engagements or whatever kind of metric that can determine active situations, someone should be more or less readily available to address issues in real time. This is much easier said than done, I'm sure. My thoughts on this are rambly so I'm trying to keep it concise.)

I also think it's unrealistic to expect active enforcement across hundreds of thousands of servers that Ark maintains. GMs can't come address issues in game if they don't know about them, which is why Enforcement appears to be reactive rather than active IMHO.

Is it a perfect system? No, but it is the system in place. I can tell you that from my time as mod here for 2-ish years and 3+ years playing PVP that it DOES work. I have seen real-time responses and I've also seen responses that took a few days.

the enforcement system has blatantly and repeatedly failed the community to the extent that they needed to remove the railgun from the game
with no disrespect intended, i really don't understand how you can reasonably argue that it works

i can send you tickets with implants, steamids and multiple video clips that never resulted in so much as bans

i've built up 30 member tribes from scratch on repeat to get screwed by railgun 4 times over with no satisfactory response from enforcement

and even after railgun was removed, i've seen bases drop to speed quetzals, flying paracers, and more

enforcement is a joke when bans are the only punishment, because people are willing to sacrifice accounts

operating at too small a scale or too large a scale means it's easy to miss how hard the current enforcement system fails anything in the middle

because in a large tribe you'll have people from your tribe to blatantly cheat from out of tribe in order to defend

in a small enough tribe you get offlined 'legit'

and in both cases you might be tricked into thinking that the current state of affairs doesn't mean you flat out can't build in a very large chunk traditional alpha locations because of how hard they get exploited on if you're playing legit

Ppl that have [] don't actually have hidden names. It's just hidden to you, because you don't have that alphabet installed. To achieve the []'s you'd have to get a name in chinese/japanese/cyrillic or some other alphabet that isn't yours. It's weird that Ark doesn't use unicode, but shrug

In the current iteration oppressive LDL tribes are locked to a single server, and on servers with permissive alphas it's basically primlocked pvp

If you let LDLs transfer to each other, then you remove the "safe haven" for bobs that is otherwise provided by more chill LDL servers

Not to mention completely screwing rag LDL servers in the process
