Of course it's taking away from the challenge. It's a well earned boost for how far you have come to make the rest of the journey easier. If you hate all these extra levels so much then dump them into a useless stat.

Crafting skill doesn't have diminshing returns as far as I know. But it isn't a guaranteed bonus either. It just raises the ceiling on the bonus for items you craft. So with really high skill you could get a 100 armour saddle up to 124 cap pr you might just get bad rng and get a 0.1% bonus and it barely gets anything extra.

if i want a stat with 40 plus should i even bother taming a dino that has less than 25 points in that stats while wild, for example 23

its rng as hell, the higher stat on wild creatures are usually favored for the bonus points ...so a rex with 35hp wild perfect tame has a good chance to have 45+ hp after taming but as i said its rng, ive personally seen a 15 melee stat wild go to 38 after perfect taming....

personally wild stats dont matter to me since no matter what its going to change after taming but i always just go level 135+ when taming

thats up to you, technically if you really want it and strive for it, 60-70 base stat after taming clean is possible but just not needed at all......personally i like anything above 45 is really good for breeding

Can someone give me some advice. I did the lost colony boss and got the Giga Desmo egg.
I put it in my egg incubator, but once it reached ready it wouldn't hatch.
I read online that if your egg incubator is in too small a space, it won't allow you to hatch bigger creatures so I picked up the egg incubator and moved it.
It dropped the eggs onto the floor which I picked up.
It wont let me put them back into the egg incubator (as its already ready to hatch).
If I drop it on the ground, the egg sac just sits there and does nothing.

21k hp rest dmg and cake and as good a saddle you can get on 18 and mix of gender.

Just tamed ones you will struggle, you really want to use veggie cakes for healing and the optimum hp for that is 21k. A stack of cakes then effectively doubles it's health. Then you'll need as much melee as you can get on them with good saddles, really need at minimum 600-700 melee, more is better. Better to breed, raise and imprint a solid team of them. Monkey and spider (maybe not alpha spider) can be done with really good wild tames but not dragon, he's no pushover.

gamma only has like 60 and below for the lvl, should be fine as long as you have decent saddles....as for the defense missions outside the city, round 1 put up as many material gather things as possible then put up turrets for 2-4+ and on the very last round destroy the material gather for more turrets..by the last round the turrets themselves will easily kill any enemy but may struggle on the actual boss

you can rex rush almost any boss but for dragon you need some really good theris with cakes at 21k hp and the rest melee

for monkey you can keep using the theris or rexes

for spider megatheriums are the best since the buff they get from killing the spiderlings is insane

tek cave is gonna be a pain on solo, but you probably need one amazing giga/carcha and a couple shotguns/lots of ammo, med brews all the stuff lol

you need a high lvl drakeling, for example a lvl 80 drakeling will get you a 30k xp key in twice the time it take a 180 drakeling, so the 180 will much easier, but for the hoard keys farm gamma+ resource outposts each thing there gives you 5x xp
