Also, you might have seen GTA VI and its leaked footage. It was all criticism over that specific footage, just because it isn’t on a playable state.

Anyways, I believe in Dollie when she says they are fully committed on delivering it and weren’t able to showcase it at this time.

One of the biggest drawbacks for sotf was you had to either go tech or dinos, so if you went dinos and got headshot then the guys who went tech got free stuff. It was a big balance issue imo

So I actually have a few ideas which will compliment the upcoming realistic animal AI. I think our tames should exhibit more natural behaviours both when following and not following.

When following they should walk with us, not like they are now, being forcefully pulled along by an invisible leash; it looks odd lol. A reference I have is Far Cry Primal where the creature walks beside or in front of you. It crouches when you crouch and defends you if there's a threat.

When they are not following they could be sniffing around, being alert by looking around for danger whilst they guard the base and warn you if they detect something. Others could be cleaning themselves, feeding, lying down, sleeping or even interacting with one another. That would be very immersive. Also, with breeding babies, make them behave more naturally by interacting with their litter and parents. All in all, I want them to feel and act like actual creatures who are unique with their own personalities, who aren't just tools but companions. So if one was to die there would be a feeling of loss.

Those are my suggestions, may have more in the future 😊

Things like that would be nice, at huge expense to the resource cost of having them run. Far cry might be able to have creatures walk in front or beside you, but a mechanic like that wont really work super well in ark due to the large number of creatures involved. It might work for one, but when you have an army of 10-30 dinos it would be pretty bad performance wise. As for dinos in idle having complex movements and ai, that would be phenomenal to have, however most ark players like having a large amount of dinos out, especially in pve official and pvp breeding operations. It would cause an excessive amount of lag if people are allowed a large amount of dinos. I personally hope they can do it, but it probably wont really work.

That would be pretty unbalanced, especially against a base. Say you need dung beetles to produce fert, so you have a guy who has to have dino slots taken up for a combat useless tame. Not to mention all the other types of tames you have to have. 10 dino limit per person would completely kill pvp

ideally it's combined with my stricter 1-5 "on the field", and the remaining limit is used for "at home" which would include stuff like beetles

but again using ark 1's logic, if there's dino storage (which given the mention of the taming UI being added to ark 2 seems very likely) the issue is moot

I could see that working for small scale pvp. But there would be an extreme logistics issue for bigger tribes to implement anything like that. If we are trying to make pvp accessible to more players (which I think needs to be a primary goal) then the skill gap produced by fewer usable tames would definitely kill any chance for a casual player
