I will grab something with my argy to lure it (an any or something) and then fly it out to deep water. Just make sure you're high enough that it can't reach the "bait" lol.
It can take a few tries to get it to follow. Carchars get distracted easily.

So I'm having some weird problem with, what I believe is something in my pc setup.

So the actual Ark SE game I can run without any problems, no frame drops, excellent FPS in max graphics 1920x1080 (everything on max), but the main menu is the problem. It takes me up to half an hour to actually join a session and it crashes a lot when I try to go to main menu or I click ESC (even tho this ESC crash dosen't happen often at all, happened like 3 times). It's still really annoying and I feel like there is something wrong somewhere but Idk how to fix it. Someone please help

You'll often lose your character or tribe in Ark. I always back everything up with PIN codes so I have access if a rollback or a bug deletes my character .

Does anyone know what the heck is going on with cosmetics? Since the patch on thanksgiving if I have any cosmetics mods downloaded I just crash every so often for no reason!!!!! Just standing at my base. I’ve deleted all of the mods multiple times, and downloaded one at a time. It doesn’t seam to matter which mod. If I delete ALL of the cosmetics then I have no crashing issues at all.

There's not enough space on the SSD you have the game installed on to patch the game, so Steam is using other drives, which are HDD.

If you see high disk usage in steam downloader, great, it's working as it's supposed to. If it's at or below 150MBs I'd start to worry and look for replacements. The HDD won't just stop working, but performance will deteriorate as the time goes on.

Not sure if someone replied or you figured it out but you have to angle the analog stick you move with in a particular way and just keep holding it while going backwards around its totem. That way it can’t attack from behind. Once you get the motion the timing will become easier to smack him in face lol. I did it with my ps5 controller and snagged a 140 on PVE official.

Anyone know why my passive tames aren't working right? I have the rates turned up for prompts, food drain, and whatever is needed. Even with that though, if i use low quality food for something, it seems like it drains the entire taming progress from the last feed before it'll eat again.

Wear ghille, or a combination of flak and ghille that gets your heat resistance up but enough armor to save you from minions.

I'm trying to run a dedicated Ark: Survival Ascended server on my PC to play with my friend on PS5. I installed the server via SteamCMD, set the installation directory, and logged in with a valid Steam account. I also opened the necessary ports.

However, when I launch the server, I keep getting these messages in the log:

No Machine ID was found
Couldn't load mods library from disk

Even after correcting the GameUserSettings.ini file and making sure ActiveMods= is empty, the Machine ID error still appears.

The server shows as 'ready' but I cannot see it on my PC, and my friend on PS5 cannot join either.

I’ve tried both Steam “Tools” version and SteamCMD, but the Machine ID issue persists.

What am I missing to generate the Machine ID so the server becomes visible on PC and PS5?

first thing to do would be to disable cloud save entirely, if possible, or back up and erase all existing save data

xbox cloud save can get really buggy and weird. file permissions as well

a new save is created every time you save the game. easy to check if it actually is creating the file, or not

Has anyone else had this issue im having at the moment? I tried joining a map with turkey trial mod and it wasnt loading so I tried downloading the mod from the mod menu but it showed no progress and said installing cancelled. I closed the game went back in no change and from the start of trying to get turkey trials all the mod images are blank but the details are all there. I uninstalled and reinstalled ark, it still had the issue, I did a power cycle and still not solved. Then the game updated, still no progress, I cleared the cache and still nothing, uninstalled reinstalled again and no progress, can anyone help please? I dont want to lose all my dinos

I got the latest update for ASA for my pc and now it won't open the game. I get this message: "DirectX 12 is not supported on your system. Try running without the -dx12 or -d3d12 command line argument."

I’ve had items stuck in the link box since 2 weeks after Val dropped, on Val. Sometimes they’re there but can’t pull them out. Other times it shows nothing in there. that does not sound like a backup save. sounds like you lost the character profile or something and loaded an extremely corrupted/partial save. duped stuff loading in the air at 50/50 is due to memory cleanup errors and should not happen anymore. how old was it?
