is anyone else having issues with drakeling fertilized eggs just vanishing? im trying to breed them on rag, but the egg is only there for a few seconds then just vanishes, never to be seen again. i must emphasize that they ARE NOT in the oviraptor. they are just gone. i only have the one oviraptor on that map, so i know its not in a different one. i have tried to cryo the oviraptor, thinking they were just invisible, but nada. every other type of egg is still there. its just the drakelings

Yes I have noticed that it inconsistently does not show the mutations there. If you open the dinos inventory and look at ancestors (sorry forget the actual name) the mutations show up there. Then when you look with the tek binoculars it will show correctly.

So... After the release of Aquatica, and the subsequent downgrade to the preaquatica ASE branch (so I can play unofficials again) , I found I was crashing every time I tried to load into my unofficial servers. After much poking around, I discovered that unchecking the graphics option "Distance Field Shadowing" fixed it. But this setting never caused crashes BEFORE Aquatica came out.

I will say that I recently upgraded my GPU from a 3060 Ti to a 5070. Was the crash from the GPU/ driver change, or the game code???

get a better GPU. the game handles texture pool size automatically now (more or less) and will use as much memory as you have

telling it to use more than you have would just drop you to single digit fps

you could also try changing these settings r.MipMapLODBias 2 | r.Streaming.MipBias 2 | r.VT.RVT.TileCountBias -1

that will make the whole game look significantly lower detail, but may help make texture loading more predictable

I’m having issues with harvesting while mounted. Often when I hit a node with an Anky, equus, etc. it takes the game several seconds to “count” the harvested materials. If I try it multiple times the game stops responding. Tail swings are delayed and I can’t dismount. Eventually I get kicked from the server. Nobody else on the server seems to be experiencing this. We have several mods installed but nothing I can see that would be related to harvesting. I am the only player on with Lost Colony so could be related to the skill tree harvesting bonuses?

Terminals are invisible that’s why you’re having a hard time finding one. If you have transmitter unlocked then take one with you when you spawn in place it down and use that. Alternatively you can rerender the terminals by finding the spots they are normally at and then slowly backing away from them until you notice it pop up or you can go to a boss terminal

Pick a map. Best to start on the island. Choose a server. Remember that server because that’ll be your server. Spawn in start hitting trees and picking up rocks build a house and keep going. It’ll take a good while to learn the game and we can’t just explain how to play it in one go

Id recommend island or Abberration, some may say "Why abb?" its progression is VERY linear and it can help you get a grip on the game. If you're an avid gamer that learns decently quickly thats also not an idiot, ABB could be very fun!

Have you tried running it with -preventhiberation? That has helped me. Rarer creatures like giga/carcha/rhynio still spawn in slow, because that's just the nature of the beast, but they do come in a lot more than they used to, for me.
However, I wouldn't recommend doing so if you have a lower-end PC though; it can be pretty taxing.
(Also as a weird glitch bonus, for some reason adding this command makes a lot of the jellyfish die up in the air, so endless supply of free biotoxin lol).

So i was having some major issues with stuttering and FPS drops still, reverting my driver to 572.47 made it much less frequent but it turns out the mod 'dino depot' was causing me issues, any time i'd use a dino ball i would get the slideshow of frames that returned to normal after unequipping. Accessing the DD terminal would also cause this drop but it would never recover.

If anyone is having bad performance issues and uses this mod, try uninstalling and see if it helps, be sure to cryo all of your dinos with vanilla pods first >.<

Does anyone know the decay timer for a dino with a platform saddle on Official Small Tribes?
I was living on a Quetzal on Ragnarok which had metal structures on it - so I knew I had about 16 days potential to leave without structures decaying. I took a break for 8 days, but upon my return the Quetzal instantly "auto-decayed" as soon as I spawned onto it. Now I believe I am left with nothing as the beds are no longer there even though they haven't decayed in tribe log.

That is not what I said.

The issue is that as a Mod Dveloper I can override a function that allows me to filter out what can and can not go into the structure.

This works fine when the player tries to place one item at a time into the structure, but when the player presses something like the Transfer All button, then Ark doesn't adhere to the over ride feature that they implemented.

So, if anything needs to be done, then the Trasnfer All, needs to use this Over Ridden feature.

Have you leveled up the theri’s ?
If they tamed out at level 52. Any levels you put into them do not count towards the baby’s level. The eggs will hatch at the base level when tamed which would be 52 ( in the example I gave).

Why when destroying rockwells tentacles does he sometimes just go under the element straight away and get his tentacles back when there was only the opportunity for my megalos to hit him a couple times? (Only doing like 500 dmg total in that cycle) As far as I'm aware as long as you can do the dmg while he's down you should only have to go round killing the tentacles 4 times.

When you imprint them it gives a boost to some of the stats. Later when you are breeding them you’ll look at the babies stats and the breeder stats and be confused why they are different Realizing later it was imprinted. Hi All. My dad is a PS5 player and we play on the same server cluster together. When he logs in he can move around, but half of our base is completely missing for him, and he can't interact with any dino's. On my end (on PC) being logged in at the same time, it shows him laying in the bed. Everything loads fine for me and i can interact with Dinos. He has logged out and in multiple times, done a full shutdown restart of the playstation, and i have restarted the server as well. He is currently uninstalling Ark to reinstall it tomorrow, and hopefully that fixes the issue. It doesnt seem like anyone else on the server is having these issues either. Have any of you had an issue similar to my dad and were you able to fix it?

The frequent "Exception Access Violation" crashes people are seeing are not a hardware problem. They are poor coding on SWC's part with regard to Ark and there is very little you can do about it. They just have to fix it. Ark often sends requests that are too large to the GPU and it takes too long to process them which triggers the Windows TDR (Timeout Detection Recovery) feature which dumps your GPU state and refreshes it, causing the crash. This gets reported as the error outlined in the original post because the API doesn't know the difference. All it knows is it tried to make a request and didn't get anything back.

Lets say your on Unreal or DLSS, changing your settings to FSR Ultra performance makes your game looking incredibly fuzzy and and grainy its really hard to look at, not much in context form either that's basically what it was, person made the issue known and was told it sounds like they got vram issues a literal wild goose chase when the solution was changing off FSR Ultra performance as simply as pie but you have to have messed with those settings to learn that which he clearly hasn't, so he was talking out of his ass for no reason.

Hey everyone, I’m running into an issue with the template build menu in ARK: Survival Ascended on console.
When I press Square and go to the third option (where it lets you choose between Build Target and Auto Build), I try to switch to Auto Build so I can view the material list — like what I need or what I’ve already placed.
But as soon as I switch to Auto Build, it automatically bumps me back to the first option (the creative mode), not letting me stay on the third option (build mode) to view the list.
Is this a bug, or is there a trick to locking that view in place? Any help would be appreciated!

Hi, I'm running the game on PC (steam) on high graphics settings preset, but the models look like that of the "low" preset, and the testures are incredibly low resolution;
is there a known solution to this graphical problem? I've tried switching to "epic" settings, down to low, medium, and nothing seemed to change;

further notes: on inspecting my screenshots from the island, the textures (on almost anything) are much lower than they should be on any setting and the model quality looks more like a LOD mismatch than the graphics preset

this shouldn't mater... files hosted on the PC and files associated with an account shouldn't matter. uninstalling a game file just based on purchases is crazy.

I know 3rd party mods do not do this... seems to only be ASA DLC material...

I can be on one account... own the mod, do the things. Be on 2nd account... don't own the mod.. can see the skin or item.. but can't use skin or item.
