The lower you put your graphics the longer it will takes for the FPS drop to happen (might be a VRAM memory leak of some sort)

So even if you can run at higher quality, lower it until they can fix the issue.
When it happen in game you can try in order:

• Go to windowed fulscreen then go back to fullscreen
• disconnect and rejoin your server/map
• restart your game
• restart your game and wait / restart your pc

sometimes just the first one will work, sometimes you will have to do the last one, it is quite random

To mitigate the issues, someone said that the following resolved the problem (not tested though)

• On nvidia, downgrade your driver to version 560.39
• Disable Hardware Acceleration Gpu Scheduling on windows

It's not a setting. It's UE5 rollout. Be patient, they're fixing bugs as fast as they can. Lots are crashing more often than before, best you can do is find a reliable way of making it happen and submitting a bug report

Listen guys for some reason it seems that graphic presets modify some kind of hidden settings... (do not ask me why or how , i dont know much about pc... i just try stuff). I have noticed that if i use a high or epic preset and set all on low the game still requires hardcore hardware , get fps drops etc etc... BUT me and my friends tried using the LOW preset , then save ,then increasing the settings as we want ( im curreclty having adv.text , text , view distance and foliage on epic , all else is mixed between high and medium) and im getting stable 70+ fps even near 50 breeding teriz and 40 breeding argies. I always runned fine with ark UNTIL i used nvdiageforce to update drivers and change settings during aberration ( i have a 4060ti) i highly suggest you to never use nvidiageforce with ark asa... we kept having problems with it and those strange settings layout it gives... So if u have time i suggest trying this after a complete reset of all ark graphic settings.
Reset settings (from main menu) , load the LOW graphic settings preset (image below) then save , then change the settings u want one by one , then save , then restart ark (completely close it and restart it) do not let nvidia touch ark EVER , set it on ignore on nvidia or like me... unistall nvidiageforce (its trash anyway). Also try to set the ark.exe in his files with "run as administrator" , helped me for the crash on the game start insta fixed it.

Anyone who has an Nvidia GPU and begun constant crashing with this error message, install older drivers for nvidia seems to completely fix it crashing for me.

The following versions are stable for most users:

566.36 - Dec 05, 2024 (recommended for older series, not compatible with blackwell or latest DLSS transformer model)

Older versions should be downloaded directly from the Nvidia website. Navigate to "drivers" from the top bar, Scroll to "Manual Driver Search", enter your GPU model name, click "Find", scroll down to "View More Versions", then scroll down to the correct older version.

I have a 4060 and never crash even with latest drivers but I've got the FPS tanking issue where whenever you lose frames sometimes they get stuck at lower FPS and never recover. Gotta relog and that fixes it until next time.

I put all dlss overrides to default (in nvdia app, cause in ARK 5.2 I had DLSS 4 preset K) and enabled the nvdia hud overlay to see current version/preset and what I see is DLSS v310.2.1 (latest version of DLSS4), preset C, and no nvidia frame gen info so assuming its not working. Thats why I asked, not 100% if its a problem with my setup or WC screw things again.

i used to run a huge tribe, like 4 or 5 servers worth of people, we were huge.. never harassed people, only defended them from meshers and trolls..

in 1 night we had all of our bases destroyed, on all servers,

huge meshing group, we had a official admin come to us, out of no where, and banned the mesher's entire tribe, they delete all their stuff too

we still lost everything but were able to rebuild stupid fast, good times.

I wanted to ask if anyone else is having the same issue as me. Since the big update, my game keeps crashing whenever I try to transfer my character from one server to another on official x1 servers.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game, but nothing worked, the problem is still there.
The only solution that works is connecting directly through the server list, which lets me join, but I can't use the transmitter at all.
Can someone please tell me I'm not the only one having this issue ?

Work around For console players:

1. Delete all mods
2. Join server and let it download mods from the server listing
3. You'll get a failed to join message. Don't close this. There will be a mod counter in the top right saying x/0 mods updated.
4. Wait until x=the number of mods actually on the server
5. Close the error and back out to main menu. Don't close the application
6. Attempt to join the server again. It will download the mods again but faster
7. Cross your fingers you don't black screen
8. If you crash or black screen, restart app and start at step 1 again

Graphics haven't improved but same scenario though. I turned off hardware acceleration, used an old driver, and have everything at medium and screen percentage set to 70. Get good frames but I still get the FPS tank bug if I am doing a lot of hopping around the map fast or loading a bunch of bases in but if I'm out away from most stuff it doesn't come as frequent and can play for a lot longer.

Yea, it will do that. You literally just have to wait, a very long time depending on the number of mods. A 7 mod server I got into took about 20 minutes, but the 20+ mod server I got into took me hours. Mainly due to the first two successful attempts ending in black screen. I know it sucks, takes forever, and isn't 100% guarantee, but if you're desperate to check your tames/bases then its worth a shot!

Hi survivors! I am having a major problem after the update. I am trying to play on the center. I have played on the map before, when I choose any server that is center, it says DLC not installed. Continue to the store to install it. After I accept, and enter my password, it says looks like you already own this. I select close, and it repeats the same process over and over. Hello. You know that guy everybody hates because he was spamming a step by step to get online?... well.. it seemed it worked!
So at least i got to refresh my base and decay is still on, as a gacha already died in this 2 days...

But i believe the steps he gave us. Was missing a crucial step (atleast for me) that was, when you go for the second time to your server to try get on it like described in his step by step, i checked all the mods, and everything said installed except for 1.... in my case, the big al's meraxes. So i clicked it, uninstalled it seperatly, went back to the store to reinstall it manually.. then followed his further steps and guess what.. im online 🥳🥳

So big thanks to that guy and the graphics on ps5 are actually better, the screenmovement feels awkward but it the good way...

I've installed each map and vetified files and it still says I don't have it. Is there somewhere to install them other than right clicking Ark going to properties and then to DLC and checking the box next to each map? Because they are all checked and have the size of the map next to them indicating they are installed. Bobs Tall Tales and fantastic tames are also checked but have no size indicated. I'm at my wits end. It's been days of trying to figure this out.

I've heard that you need to uncheck all the maps. So its like they aren't installed.

Then launch ark. After it loads up quit. Then go back and recheck the maps and the next time you start Ark it should download the other maps for you.

How to move a tamed Rex from Dead Island to the bottom-right corner (The Island map):
1. Land/Water Route (No Cheats/Mods):
Swim the Rex to the mainland near 85/20, then walk south along the coastline to around 85/85. Be careful — Rexes are slow swimmers and vulnerable in water. Building a raft with ramps or using a Paracer/Quetz platform saddle can help.
2. Cheat Method (Singleplayer/Admin):
Ride the Rex and use:
cheat teleport – teleports both you and the Rex.
Or use:

3. Mod Method (e.g. Dino Storage, Dino Depot):
Use a Soul Trap, Cryopod, or Depot pickup to store the Rex, then teleport and redeploy at your new base.
