Make sure you have the latest version of directx installed, and your video card drivers. Otherwise, in steam there is a funciton to verify integrity of the download. Go to your library, right click the game, go to "Properties" > Installed files > Verify integrity. Click the verify button and it will check every file installed for the game, and redownload corrupted or altered ones as it finds them. Give an update after this, and I will try to help you further.

Has anyone had an issue with the Carchar not eating during a battle? I was going an OSD on Extinction and everything was going great, full health on a vampiric(2) Carchar. Then all the sudden his food meter went to 0 real fast and wouldn't heal or get stamina back. It ended up dying because I didn't have the stamina to get outta there. I had tons of food on him from all the corrupted critters I was killing.

Hey trying in here again! As of a week ago my mods have ceased updating and I cannot install new mods. I'm afraid to boot up my SP save because one of the build mods is broken entirely (broken file warning on mod page). I've tried file verifies and multiple restarts. Mods that I have uninstalled I cannot reinstall. Everytime I login in the top right corner where the mod update progress icon is, I see an error flash for just a second that says [server unreachable] or something close to that. I've been putting off updating to Windows 11 but that's my next step if I cant find a solution. :/

reinstall is a complete waste of time. unfortunately that is an 8GB VRAM model and cant ever fully load the game in some maps/areas, especialy with lots of dinos nearby

Be careful when reincarnating wyverns with an Oasisaur, the wyvern babies like literally cannot be fed enough milk. My tribe mates put 10 wyvern milk in it's inventory and it ate all 10 and the food just sinks back to zero

I think there’s a mod or two that’s tipping your console over the edge. Might need too much RAM for example. PC’s typically have at least 16GB RAM and a graphics card with 8GB or more video RAM.

nitrado is the exact opposite of clientside. clientside is the game client, aka the game installed on your system. last update could have changed something, but a connection bug in it would apply to all servers. more likely just nitrado's net being shitty.
and your net speed has nothing to do with your connection to a specific place being good or not.

the memory error is not legitimately running out of memory, unless you set your pagefile size to something way too low (dont do this unless you understand what it is for)
that also has nothing directly to do with dino spawning and is unfortunately really vague. could be a mod bug, or a game bug..

that is nonsensical, crossark refers to a specific gamemode on official servers, there is no "host" player. there is no way to play a DLC without installing it, which means owning it. for survival ascended, all the old DLC maps are part of the base game, not separate purchases

you have to use your own games and accounts with it, generally. you are just renting a computer. it is also very janky for ark due to their network conditions, often slow updates of their game version cache that prevent online play, and very limited ability to use mods, since the "computer" is wiped each time you log out

It varies, but sometimes they don't appear in the tab at all, and sometimes only a few of them will. I've tried reinstalling them, but the issue persists. It's completely random.

Back to Mainmenu and reconnect and all cosmetics are there (the icons are missing on most of them - but that's a different problem). In the client log you can also see that they are not really loaded. So there seems to be a bug in the ARK client. This has nothing to do with the server. The skins now always take 20-30 seconds after connecting until they are all displayed. It's really great what WC has done to the CCs 😦

No I ended up going and getting a new upgraded pc with more ram. I only had 16gb now 32 and it seems to be fine now. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, verifying files, deleting a bunch of things. Nothing worked until the new pc with a clean install of steam and ark.

since there seems to be some confusion about what a dedicated server is, it is standalone server software, not built into the game. it can be downloaded from steam separately from the game.

So I'd got a little stalled with ASE and dusted off Ascended for something a bit different, and here's where the problem started.
I'm on Steam, and whenever I try and join a modded server, I get to the page where the server mods are listed, and there are no images, just greyed out flame icons. Then when I click JOIN it takes me through to the next screen where it should start downloading the mods etc, the progress bar shows downloading x / x mods or whatever it says and that's all it does. At the bottom of the screen it just says Pending and doesn't change nomatter how long I seem to leave it.

If I go back to the main menu and Browse Mods, I get the same grey icons, and if I click one of them and hit the INSTALL button at the top right, it flicks to the installing progress bar for 1/2 second then drops back to INSTALL and doesn't do anything.

I did manage to get on an official server so I know the actual game is ok, the issue is just with mods.

So far I've tried:
Installing the curseforge app because I read that on a steam discussion
Using a different steam account
Verifying files
Uninstall and Reinstall
Disabling my anti-virus
Running it as Administrator
Restarting my Modem / Router

And nothing works, the only thing I've seen suggested that I've not done is a reinstall of windows, and that's not going to happen, I'll uninstall Ascended long before I reinstall windows.

Any suggestions please?

Yeah, it worked fine fairly recently because I was admin on a cluster and occasionally went on to ASC for a ticket, but either a Microsoft update or Wildcard update has broken it.
As per usual it seems that Wildcard are doing the ostrich and burying their head in the sand with no announcements about it. Sadly it's way too late to get a refund from steam for their POS so I'll probably just uninstall it and go find a reliable game for a bit.

All you need to do is select the box that says "Turn on DEP for all the programs and services except those I select." Now, click on "Add" and browse to the executable of the program that won't run.

You select ARK and you should be solid

I would try and install the game on another harddrive if you have one. If not defrag your drive and see if that does anything. Also make sure your drivers are up to day and see what that does and don't ask why, attempt to reseat your RAM because doing that just fixes weird things all the time.
