well, I tried it with the spear, stone pick and stone hatchet and it happened with all of them, spear was by far the most obnoxious though lol. It seems to only be a single frame or two of the whole animation, just long enough to know something's wrong but short enough to not see it straight away

my best guess is either the shader that causes the visual trail of the weapon swing is corrupted, or weird settings/driver issues are breaking it. have you verified the game install and ensured your graphics drivers are up to date?

verifying integrity of files now, and recently had to check drivers for a different issue on a different game a few days ago, 99% sure it's fine

might just bite the bullet and redownload the entire game if both that and deleting config files doesnt work

In the chance that you don't quit forever, transfer things in smaller batches. If you slot cap your inventory and try to transfer, there's always a chance you're going to crash the server and lose your stuff.

Maybe the stuff wasn't ready for upload? There's a 15 minute timer between saves, and the stuff has to be in your inventory for a save before you can transfer them. Otherwise they get dropped in a bag where you left the server. Sometimes you just get Arked though.

Issue: partner has a corrupted upload file - their character data on my non-ded is fine, but their upload is corrupted, anytime they attempt to access their tribute uploads via the obelisk/similar their game crashes. this occured after a buggy day one transfer attempt to Aberration after which their character crashed and data was lost.
What can we do to correct this? delete the file? which one is it?

additional info: they have always had an issue with uploads prior to this - whilst items appear as uploaded, equipment/blueprints are OK, however, dino uploads are NOT. Any dino they downloaded appeared as level 1 with stats wiped.

only thing i could think of is that it was stuck in the ground or rock for a second but we always had a lot of dinos here, sometimes stuck and struggling but never did one just die. it was some recent change that did it then.
guess i will have to put them all in pods now.

Right, second try without a link apparently. On 2560x1440 (my monitor's actual resolution), the bottom and right side of the screen flickers and just otherwise breaks any ability to play the game. Switching my game resolution to 1920x1080 fixes this, but I'd like to play the game using my monitor's actual resolution.

not really. that is your GPU freezing/crashing, which is usually due to stability issues of the hardware, but can also be due to a bug telling it to do impossible amounts of work, at which point it just keeps working until windows decides it is doing something insane and bonks it over the head

if it happens regularly under specific conditions, it is probably a hardware issue of some kind

if you are using any "performance boosting" launch args/ini file edits/commands, try without them

ahh okay it's just weird my wife and i started having our games crash in specific spots when we added some mods to our server

both separate computers with the server running off my machine

something that fixed it was running disk cleanup and clearing the directx shader cache there.

she was running launch args (the usual 2 that are on google) just a minute ago and i just removed them

other than that haven't touched any ini edits or commands

we tried all the fixes for the bug that we could find including disabling any overlays like msi, steam, nvidia.. turning on low latency mode > ultra, messing with the registry.. so on

disk cleanup will never fix issues with a game or really much of anything, all it does is remove unneeded files. cleaning directx cache would wipe any corrupted shaders, which is not a good sign, since it means something corrupted them to begin with - memory/CPU failure, drive issues, ect

So I am trying to get a dedicated sever (se) to work but no matter what I try it won't show in the server list at all but joining via steam "Game Servers" Menu I get the error "unable to query server info for invite". I am port forwarding 7777, 7778, 27015 on the router for both UPD and TCP and also on the host pc (Both on in and out firewall settings in windows). I have used the netstat button on xampp, which shows a bit of activity on the wrong ports from shooter game and glass wire (free) shows activitn (10's of kB worth). I am stuck of what to do as it seems more of an app issues then portforwarding

I’ve got the Xbox app version and the steam version. On Xbox I’m on epic with no commands getting 60-70 FPS. On steam I’m on low settings and it’s sooo bad but I don’t get why. Is it just bad on steam? Surly not everyone’s playing steam like that

DLSS3 framegen was removed because it was proving very unstable and presumably too much work to maintain, FSR framegen replaced it. the option being removed is a little odd, but probably because it involves a bunch of other settings (ie, framegen needs vsync to be on to not look horrifying) and players inevitably dont understand and mess up more technical settings. less room for people to step on the proverbial lego

Yes I have been able to port forward for Minecraft servers, Icarus and Satisfactory servers with no issue (from the same device), I am not aware of any other CGNAT or stupid nat as there is only the one router here and its setup for port forwarding correctly

Hoping someone might be able to help me figure this out. So after the recent Ark Ascended update on Steam, I crash so often I just stopped playing. I've tried disabling mods, but that seems to make no difference. This happens to me on singleplayer, a nondedicated me and my husband play on, and a nitrado server a friend has. I can play sometimes for 5-10 minutes, and sometimes I crash 2 minutes into loading up the server. Claiming a baby with a max leveled (+88 skill points) Gigantoraptor which has all it stats in a single stat will give you up to 6% extra stats towards this stat.
For example, claiming a lvl150 Baby will give you the following stats in average:
75 Stats in total
5 Stats guaranteed into the chosen [75 * 6% = 4.5 ==> 5]
11.7 Stats into every stat (including the chosen one) [70 / 6 = 11.67]
16.7 Stats into the chosen one [5 guaranteed + 11.7 = 16.7]

Well, if you play PvP mode, baby murder is an option. Otherwise, maybe grinding alpha crabs by kicking them in the backside a lot after a few compound bow shots.

Although the Center seems to be manufactuing alpha raptors at a steady clip and those are trivial to kill with a GR secondary attack.

So to clear it up, I have 4/5 devices im using

Host desktop (Headless) - Firewall off - No AV (windows defender) - Server seems to be running fine but no network activity on the right ports
Host Desktop 2 (Headless nuc for testing only) - Firewall off - No AV (Windows defender) - Server gets stuck on core count
Laptop with the game installed not able to connct via steam (says cant find it) and nothing shows in game and the open command does nothing
Desktop (My main desktop), The game and the server files are Not installed on this device and I am using it to remote into the other device to sort them out
All of the above are on the same lan with port forwarding to the right rules, I will Not disable firewall on the router at all

I am stuck for ideas and have nerly wasted 2 whole days on this with no luck

Hoping someone might be able to help me figure this out. So after the recent Ark Ascended update on Steam, I crash so often I just stopped playing. I've tried disabling mods, but that seems to make no difference. This happens to me on singleplayer, a nondedicated me and my husband play on, and a nitrado server a friend has. I can play sometimes for 5-10 minutes, and sometimes I crash 2 minutes into loading up the server. it is either damaged/misconfigured hardware, or a bug with the game graphics giving the hardware an impossible task that results in the game freezing

it is your "internet", at least your connection to the server. your downspeed throttle has basically nothing to do with game performance. moving fast means tons of stuff is being loaded on your client as you travel, and it can result in data bottlenecking briefly on the server, client, or actual connection

ue5 netcode is interesting, let's call it, and has a lot of really harsh restrictions. the servers are doing a funny balancing act to not desync/disconnect people constantly

ASE has a habit of crashing, possibly due to running out of memory, when trying to save and close. save in advance with the saveworld command in the cheat console, then quit

saving uses a lot of memory. consoles do not have a lot of memory, or any emergency buffer

the game tends to be running close to the limit on console to begin with

ASE's engine is.. yeah. a mess. different kind of mess

it is a huge open world game with a very open-ended number of characters, though. it just unavoidably uses a lot of memory

ASA is far better optimized in most areas, but still has some very interesting bugs

Alright. Here is a weird one for you all. And if you know the answer. It would be awesome.

So I extended my server, which I normally use the comp to do all settings and crap. But nitrado said to just do it on the Xbox. So I did.
Now doing so completely wiped (or set up a new map) to the map I was on.
So I contacted them and they reloaded the map off of a saved point for me so I got all the stuff back. HOWEVER!!!!!!!!!
When I loaded in before they reset the server to give me all my progress back I had to do a new character.
So now when I log in it brings me in to the new toon and not my proper toon that I had before.

So my question is this.
Is there a way to select which character you log in on? So I could then log in to my actual character n not this new one ?????

playing ASE and I'm playing with the "Improved Egg Incubator" mod and for some reason every time I log off the mod gets removed from my mod list which then completely removes the incubator in game

It was a bit nerfed recently you learn the skin and make it the skin goes into the right hand side I think and then you apply on the left just just look around on both sides of your inventory

We found through experimentation and research in ascended you want the Anki and the doedicarus to have as high a level of melee as possible over 800 was best, early game the best pick you can get but switched to an anky as fast as possible, I normally carry them in my pocket or with an Argy, either cryopod or Dino balls

Is anyone else getting this weird lag spike every ten minutes or so (havent timed it for science but feels that roughly). Started happening about a week ago. It mostly happens when I access my (or any) inventory - the game will freeze up for around 10-20 seconds (a hefty pause) and this will be followed by around 10-20 seconds of rubberbanding where I wont be able to move from the spot if I try - unless I stop and stand still, wait a bit, then try to move. on ark asa I built a tree base in the Redwoods, I attached an elevator with a medium platfor on it, when I get on it and go down the elevator goes all the way to the botton with no issues when I try to go up it only goes up 1/3 a track each time I hit up and wont go all the way to the top without hitting E or clickin up 50 times.. any suggestions, I rebuilt the track a few times to make sure everything was setup right

Anyone else have an issue with their premium mods on ps want you to repay for them? My father got ill I had to take care of him for a few weeks when I came back on over half of the mods I paid for are now wanting me to purchase them again it’s both map and skin mods, (not just certain creators but a few different ones). I have tried restore purchases and resetting my internet. I do not want to redownload ark on my ps it’s a 26 hour download (I’ve had to do it twice since ASA launched).
