I noticed the game will apply updates but then afterwards go through the entire files. So, 7GB update then now 115GB...I'm not really sure other than maybe go into your PC settings. Find "Storage Sense" And see what you are able to remove or "clean up"

It definitely does. SSDs load/streams textures much faster, making gameplay seamless. HDDs hinder performance and a lot of times make games unplayable. At least for me anyway

I experienced a crash. Something to do with runtime...but the game was frozen. I was not able to alt-tab out of the game window. Even Alt + tab + delete then clicking task manager did nothing. I had to repeat the alt + etc. and restart. Is there a way I can get out of the game that I missed? So I can get the crash info to the devs

if a program is frozen like that, something pretty weird is going on with your PC. you should be able to just printscreen or snipping tool the error message. client does not save error logs after it closes

taking a screenshot on windows is win-shift-S to open snipping, or printscr to copy to clipboard, which you can paste into most things that accept common image files

Exiting the crash message automatically copies to your clipboard as well, if you're not frozen next time.

Since Evolved, every time Ark needs an update, it practically needs to re-install the entire game to "patch", which takes quite a while. Why does this happen? Is this just a poor design from Wildcard, or is this an issue on my end? Ark is the only game that has ever done this.

I am stuck continuously crashing as soon as I load in. I died and respawned on my bed and cannot make it into the game without getting home screened. This happens to my tribemates as well. You could try a server restart after adjusting dino count, but if that's not enough, you can try the simple spawners mod to add more creatures

Anybody know how to fix a graphical issue that causes a crazy amount of saturation? I’m on Xbox so I don’t have access to graphic settings and the only commands I have used in the past are to remove volumetric fog and clouds. I’ve done a hard reset but it didn’t help

I wish Ark would work directly with steam on things like patching and disk allocation. I can't use my ssd for patches because I don't have double the game size' worth of space on my ssd, so it uses my hdd to patch. Takes hours instead of a few minutes

It somehow runs the patch through another available drive that has space if your SSD doesn't have twice the game space

It still installs on the SSD, but it processes the patch through the other drive
