boss ai causes them to attack the biggest target, which means if you bring a yuty and 19 deinons the broodmother will target the yuty and not attack the deinons. in consequence, the deinons stop broodmother from reaching the yuty and you get a near guaranteed win

"lostisland" in there is only a part of the path they had the source code in when compiling the game. nothing specific to you.

that's a very rough and mangled piece of the error tho. any chance the reset includes "AInstancedFoliageActor"?

go to <install folder of the game>/shootergame/saved, find the savedlocalarks folder (or similar name) for your map, try swapping the .ark file for an auto-backup. @stiff topaz if you're online you can prolly phrase this better.

So if i get a 1/20 on a female, i breed it with a male and hope to get a male with the mutation, and then breed that male with another fresh 0/20 female.
Correct?
So what happends if i get a 1/20 on both sides after that? Do i breed it on to a male, and then breed that male with a new fresh 0/20 female?

that confused me for a very long time but to skip the "why" explanation because its very complicated ill just give you the steps of the "how" to do it

so basically step 1:

tame a whole bunch of whatever animal you want to use for breeding

see which stat is the highest on the dinos, so for example you have one dino with 100 health and one dino with 80 health, you want to use the 100 health one for breeding instead of the 80

and then you do that with each stat

so basically you just breed a bunch of whatever animal you tamed together until you have a dino that has the highest stats of all the dinos you tamed

thats the very basics

you now have a male and a female with the highest stats, these are your base pairs, YOU ALWAYS KEEP THESE NO MATTER WHAT

you probably want to get like 10+ base females and just one base male though

here comes rule #1 for mutations: NEVER breed a mutated dino with another mutated dino. You always breed a mutated male with a clean mutated female or a mutated female with a clean male, the only exception is when you are completely done with mutations and have multiple chains you want to merge, but we'll get to that later, again I cannot explain why you cannot breed mutated with mutated until the end because its long and hard to explain

so now you decide what stats you want to mutate

usually it's health and damage, but it's your choice

anyways you now breed one clean male with a bunch of clean females (the more females the quicker it is) until you get a mutation in the stat you want (lets say you only want to mutate health and damage in this case)

and you keep doing it until you have a baby with one mutation in health and one in damage, these will be your 2 chains

if you breed the health (for example) chain baby (lets say male) with clean females, you eventually get a second mutation, this mutation is in a random stat again, so maybe you get weight this time, you ONLY want to continue the stat you started with, so dispose of any babies until you get a second health mutation, and then wait for a third etc. this is why it's called a chain, you only want the one you started with

now you do the same with the damage dino and any other chain if you wish

until you reach 20/20 with each chain (or higher)

Pretty much everything else can be muddled through and worked around. Breeding 2 mutated Dino’s together will put you at your mutation limit and cap a lines mutation counter in just a few generations. If you breed a male and a female that each have mutations the offspring will have the sum of their mutations in its counter whether they’re in the stats or not.

It was even a male. But let's assume it would have landed on a female, what then? Would I separate out the newly mutated female and keep mating that one specific female until I get the new higher stat on a male or do I just discard that mutation and aim for only the ones that roll on males?

At least I faintly remember hearing that "you should only ever change out the male, but never the females".

yes that is correct, but if you get a mutation on a female then you can breed it with the unmutated perfect male, get a male with the mutation and use that instead.

I got a dino with 31 melee an one with 29HP then decided "this is decent enough starting point and I'm sick of farming free range chicken eggs".

After that I actually went out and tamed a bunch of 5-15 ones and started by breeding those until I created a Deino with 0 stam 0 weigh 0 oxy 0 food and 0 speed.

Then I decided I'll start working on melee first so I started mating my 31 melee deino with the nil-d out female until I got an 1 male and 3 female offspring with the high attack Deino's hp and melee and 0 in everything else, at which point I decided to apply euthanasia to the wild high melee parent.

Then I started mating them until I got a double melee mutation male, which I immediately replaced my old male with, applying euthanasia to the old one.

I continued breeding and now I'm at the point where I got yet another melee mutation, bringing up melee to 37 but it's on a female.

At the rates I pumped my breeding settings to I'm producing eggs at a nearly faster rate I can stuff my incubator with, and I'm using 2 sets of quick presets to auto stuff the incubator with 10 new eggs and to move unneeded ones into a garbage with ann with 1-1 click.

A question about color mutations tho. How do colors work when breeding. Are specific colors from parents always go to the same region or can they show up on other regions on an offspring without requiring mutations?

In general, how hard is it to create a nicely coloured dino if you put away dinos that have "cool and rare looking colours in 1 or 2 of their regions" but otherwise have no reedemable qualities?

Can't find them anywhere. No deaths in the logs, i've checked every vault and every cryo fridge. Can't find them. I own the server too. Where can I possibly look for them?
