in broad strokes, if you want to play ASA better than on console, you want a reasonably modern 6-8 core CPU (ideally AMD, since intel is currently a trainwreck for gaming use), 32GB RAM (main memory), a graphics card with 12GB or more video memory and upper-midrange performance, like an RTX 4070, 5070, RX 7800, ect. minimum something like an RTX 5060 16GB or Intel Arc B580

Guys I tamed this one tiger thing that jumped me in the red woods called a thylacoleo, after like 2 deaths and a trap I was able to tame it!

I would highly recommend checking dododex for taming. It was a total gamechanger for me when I started using it. (Not sure if I can post a link in this channel but you can google it).
You can input which creature, which level, your rates... and it will tell you which food and how much to use. As well as how many tranqs you need, depending on which weapon and which dmg % you have on it. And if you need any narcs (for dinos that lose torpor fast).

Plus higher the level the creature, better the taming effectiveness/more taming levels, the better stats you can get.

If I remember correctly, only the 'original' herbivores spawn there. Like from 2015 Ark.
So there are only a select few species to be found there.

If you are having issues with servers showing up, try unselecting Xbox servers only at the bottom of the screen after you click join game. It worked for me after not being able to see any servers populating and I’m in my rag server now.

My server was feeling bland, so I changed player DMG from 1.5 to .8 and tamed dino DMG from 1.2 to .8

Then I realized, it was because I turned levels up too high on shinies. I turned them down, downloaded a mod to fix their current stats to be lower values

Let's hope all this makes it feel fun and dangerous again

Might just be time for a fresh wipe tho tbh and just make shinies spawn at 150 static to prevent this in the future

I only know of Nitrado and GPortal. GPortal doesn't offer the ASA only ASE and nitrado as mentioned doesn't have any servers available for the Australian location. Nor do I have to ability to set up and host my own.

it wouldn't cost you anywhere near 1000s, these days you can get a 2nd hand mini pc for like 160 or sometimes less which won't be noticable on your electricity bill, spend a little extra to upgrade the ram to 64gb which is more than enough for atleast 5 servers, get two of those and your set, or if you've got somewhere to put it get a 2nd hand tower pc and upgrade the ram to 128gb which could handle all your servers. You'd save like 3k+ a year lol

So, you put a berry (best mejoberry) or carrot in your last hotbar, then walk up to it not too close or you'll scare it away when ur close enough start crouching and try to walk up to its back till it says that you can feed it a carrot. Then feed it the carrot and quickly mount it by clicking E then you'll be riding it, while its running around wait before it starts buckle like doing some motion i don't know how to call it then quickly press E to feed it the carrot. Then just do that till its tamed.

Also if you don't feed it when its buckling you'll get kicked off of it and possibly unconcious, and next time you'll mount it you'll lose taming efficiency and taming progress.

I can't even unselect the xbox only server option because 90% of the time its greyed out. i spend about 20 minutes at a time just trying to get on before giving up for an hour or so to come back and try again.

If you’re on Xbox and can’t find your official server, try this workaround — it works for me:
1. Go to the server menu
2. Click on the “Unofficial” tab
3. Uncheck the “Xbox Only” filter in the bottom right corner
4. Switch back to the “Official” tab
5. Type in your server number
6. Hit Refresh
