You can turn off dynamic downloads but you won't see anyone else's custom cosmetics except your own and nobody else will see it either

if you spawn at a bed go and upload your character and then save and quit, copy your save file to a thumb drive and transfer it to the pc, you need to replace the PC save folder befor you launch ark again in PC

all your stuff should transfer and all you need to do is download your character on the pc

the save folder contains your progress, your maps and stuff

If you dont have the pc set up to play ark download the game, but do not launch the game until after you make the file transfer

I think astraeos is just so big that the map is really struggling with the rates, plus there is so many buildings on them, between massive bases and foundation/pillar spam. It's a lot for the game to cope with.

if you have the 3060 12GB the game should work OK with optimized settings, those being :
advanced graphics : medium, shadow quality high, global illumination quality : high, foliage : high, water / fluid interactions can also be turned on but everything elso should be on low, the 3060 really isnt enough for 1440p though, so in the "video" tab (IIRC) i recommend that you set DLSS to performance mode upscaling IF you really want to play at 1440p, if you dont mind dropping to 1080p then quality mode will suffice
the game Will look better than AS-E with those settings and it should run at around 40-50fps (wthout FG) with the settings i mentioned IF you have a 3060 12GB
if you only have a 3060 8GB or less then those settings i mentioned will not wrok out for a great experience

The characters and their ownerships / tribes are separate, so if the character you overwrote was the one in the tribe, then it worked as it was supposed to. If you mean you also had another tribe on the second character or the second character was already in the tribe then that is indeed odd. (You can't have more than one character on server at once but you can swap them in and out)

Okay well at least on ASE it was bugged and randomly applied to some bosses and not others. Like on Extinction they apparently hit their stride and the debuff applied to all of them, and on the Center it applied to all of them. The amount of grief I'm experiencing is inconceivable. I died on ark server 8078 and my ps5 completely bricked itself. Only way to restart it was to unplug the chord. It depends on how much you want the nice graphics I'm able to get the game to run at a stable 40-50 fps with my GeForce GTX 1650 Ti with 16 gigabytes of ram but it's closer to 8 because windows background apps are eating 8 at most times on lowest graphics so whether it's worth it depends on if your more interested in the game looking good or all the new features

those seem to be saved locally so your progres persists between servers. reinstalls can remove them or bad crashes can corrupt the saves

Up breeding rates,imprint quality and resource harvesting reduces overall grind by what ever amount you up them by just be careful not to set it too high

Legit I have been searching for 3 hours, scanning the entire map. I found that new giant wasp thing, 2 quetzals, and a giga and I still havent seen a Tapejara. What is going on

There are other maps that they spawn more often and in specific places. A lot of dinosaurs only show up at certain times in waves almost. Like you'll walk out and there will be 30 pteranodons in the air, or now everything is a brontosaurus

You could find one with a gene scanner possibly or you just fly around till you hear a Tapajara because they are very loud

Ive spent 3 and a half hours at this point, found a unicorn. Still no Tapejara. Isnt it correct that Tapejara is supposed to be more common than ALL of those things?

kill wild dinos is an option a server might implement at any time or sometimes once a day it might also be a cache save file that gets cleared once in a while

Some wild dinos don't last 10 minutes and some could last half a year depending on how long the cache persists and how little you render the area

If you have something wild definitely tame it rather than letting it wander because it will despawn even if you had it safe in a cage or something

huh.... So If I said I found a wild Quetzal a while back but I had no means of taming it but I made a note of its location. And then I went back to it when I actually had the means to do so and I searched for a while and I cannot find it. Is it possible that it just despawned?

yea no uncorrupted wild animal kills a quetzal so despawning is the only reason they disappear other than the fact they can fly a good distance and reach the other side of the map if they are in render

Bob's Tall Tales has a gene scanner gun which can track down almost every animal. Thats the first thing I'd turn to if I was hunting something specific

some spawners spawn packs, but it is never more than 2-3 at once

or ground dinos are more susceptible to attacks from predators, meaning more of them die off. then the flyers that spawn in can usually get away and survive

i recommend setting the option to wipe dinos on startup, it stops stuff getting imbalanced/weirdly overspawned over long periods

Im running through the heavily forested areas with my carno. Was using Ptero but it got murdered by that giant wasp thing that spawns in the swamp. Because of course Id run into that rare-as-hell thing before I encounter the, what should be the, much more common Tapejara.

the tape will land and walk around like a ptera, just its spawn area is heavily wooded like i said, so theres a lot of trees in the way

that take up like a quarter of the map

only way to get new higher level quetz is to kill the low levels and hope

brontos tend to be targeted a lot because theyre big and share spawn areas with large carnivores like rex and allos

when they die they arent guaranteed a new spawn either, it could be a new bronto herd or something else

so the number in the area will fluctuate
