Dear Ark Devs - I must have hunted TWENTY cats yesterday to only find TWO that were green. This taming mechanic is dumb. Please make it so that orange and red cats are tameable. Maybe for a red cat, you might have to use ghillie armor and maybe a golden fish. While they are eating it, you would sneak up and pet them. For an orange cat, maybe just drop any fish, have him eat it, and then sneak up and pet. Green would be the same as now (it's quite easy, actually). Come on, right now it's dumb that we can't even tame red or orange cats at all. It's mostly just hunting a green and then feeding it. Hunting is tedious. Make it more fun!

-evolved has more mods, much much lower hardware requirements so it'll run good on basically any potato you have, costs less, looks worse in terms of graphics

-ascended has quite a bunch of QoL features, better graphics, much higher requirements (minimum rtx 2060+I would say ryzen 5 3600 for optimal 60fps), built-in mod workshop that works for both pc and consoles, crossplay between consoles and pc, also has all Evolved's DLC for free

not directly. typically that indicates you have run out of video memory. the map is loaded when opened, so if all allowed memory is used already, you get that.

if you are on PC and have >8GB video memory, you can tell the game to use more via one of a few commands

on console, messing with that typically just crashes the game quickly

hello everybody im playing on conquest on a pc and i can join every single conquest server but just so happens i cant join the server where our main base is. when i join the server message doesnt even disappear before my game freezes i cant tab out cant do anything until i pc restart and no my pc isnt bad just a couple weeks ago i was running rust mid settings and ark mid settings both on 80 fps its more than enough plus any other server i can join and run about easily i dont even get to click a spawn location/bed on my home server im talking i join and last 2 seconds if even before a freeze and pc restart needs to happen can someone give me some help as to why this happens and how to fix it if i can even fix it. i can join every other server number/map/region but i cant join 1 server i cant join 1 single server on the whole game and it just so happens to be the server im based on ive tried everything i mean everything i cant find anything online to help me with this issue. validate game files deleted and redownloaded game graphics drivers i mean ive done everything and its clearly not an issue with my pc when it lets me join servers with higher ping on that same map its just doesnt let me join my main server with the exact same map anyone know what to do other than delete ark and never come back to it?????

Zero issue getting eggs. I can clean the trench out, get out of render and then go back and there are eggs, but very few wyverns. If they are self deleting then its happening very rapidly. I've also noticed they migrate up and out of the trench towards the center of the map. Its like auto pilot. You can chase them and get their attention if you're fast enough. If not they do go out of render and often disappear.

Seems very similar to how the gachas were spawning in the walls and such. And the trench wasn't like this originally. Least not that I can recall. The flying out thing happened, thats a long established glitch, but the adults being MIA is more recent.

I tried playing Extinction when it came out, but found it completely unplayable because my shadows kept flickering. ascended is the remake, then. functionally the same game, but with a lot of QoL improvements, much better (and far more demanding) graphics. it is not finished and is missing a lot of later maps still. evolved is a finished game, not getting any more updates. pretty old and jank. it does not have crossplay and only supports mods on steam

i was lucky with my first experciance, some dude on a dragon saw me on the beech and stole me and dropped me off in his base, i guess to mess with me at first, but i told him that i had just loaded the game the first time ever and he was cool, so he ended up explaing the game to me and the genral basic to thye game, gave me a F & M dragon and a platapus and tools and armor and told have to have it, so i stayed on that server for couple months like 2-3, and he found me again, caught up, seen my progress and all that, then a bunch of people ended up building around me and kinda destoryed my motive to play cus i didnt know where else on the map to move and didnt know hot to move all my stuff, so i just ended up quiting

Yes and no..... it will eventually get better just right now its both yes and no. If your on the series s you can only have up to 21 mods that does not make you crash.....but depending on what mods. But if playing through steam you will be good just the optimization is kind of trash at the moment until they eventually release whatever engine they decide to bring out for this game.

anyway, to answer your question : the ROG allies "Z1 extreme" versions GPU is about 10% slower than an RX 580
now, when i last played ARK on a PC with an RX 580 i was getting 30fps~ (back when the game launched) at 1080p (70%res scale) thus your Z1 extreme ally will probably get around 25fps at equivilent settings
but you might as well drop the resolution to 720p on a screen that small which would probably get you 40fps~
but i havent seen a test of it in ARK specifically
so i ultimately recomend that you install the game run around a bit and see if you are happy with the performance you get

That's not an CPU, I get the names can be confusing but if you've got a 8th gen CPU, you definitely need to overclock it to get something out of it in ARK.
