The mod drops dino inventory into yours. If the dino's inventory is too full, it might be to full for you to pick up without going black.

groundclutter system, which is a whole.. thing. bespoke and strange.

you should probably join the actual modding discord, and look over some of the mapping tutorials

there are tons of inobvious things and weird noobtraps

short answer for grass is you add a groundclutter actor and configure it with meshes that are assigned to particular landscape layers, but can also be further masked using color channels of an image corresponding to the landscape

it will then spawn the meshes on any surface within view that has the right collision type (iirc ground and groundterrain?)

Finally picked up ASA, frame Gen is okay, but I noticed when I open a menu it turns off frame Gen until I close it, which produces way less fps in menus like the inventory

no. stop focusing on the fps number, it is meaningless. there is no way to use framegen in a menu, since it has none of the motion data used to simulate movement in generated frames

You're actually cooked if you think it uses motion data, it's simply a frame generated on the last X frames based on what is expected to come next, it's no different from mid journey where the input is the framebuffer data from the last 5 frames

not even remotely how framegen works. the "AI" in it is marketing babble, not anything like generative AI images (which are thousands of times too slow to be used in such a way, and also just.. dont do that. they cant predict things that way).
DLSS3 uses "AI" pattern recognition for denoising (error recognition, basically) after generating a frame. TSR and FSR3.1 do not use any kind of "AI" or neural tech at all for their upscalers or framegen. the core functionality is using the same scene depth buffer and motion buffer that TAA uses to identify objects in the scene and predict where objects in the scene would move over a specific amount of time

and if you, apparently knowing nothing about the field, dont trust someone who does, think about the fact TSR and FSR run on basically any GPU, regardless of it having any "AI" capabilities, including the nintendo switch

regardless, framegen and upscalers looking terrible when applied over UI is a common complaint across many games with modded/poor support (ie, the devs did not officially support the tech and prevent it from being used on the UI)

Not a fan of the bob's skin clutter that appeared in my crafting tab all of a sudden.
all of the bob's skins are in cosmetics already. (and for no material cost opposed to the ones in crafting area)
No need to re-add them to the crafting section as well. and especially ON TOP if you disable folder view, meaning you have to scroll your way to a pickaxe crafting recipe at lvl 1.
If this is a feature to promote bob's 2 dlc or something I'd like to at least get an option to disable the new skin engrams with 1 line of code.. as now i have to figure out a ton of engram names and add a huge section to the game.ini

A lot of players have that issue for different reasins, i have a pretty decent PC i run ASA on mostly low settings. I disabled several of the animations and mine is working pretty well on solo but have occasional crashes on an unnofficial server.

your PC specs are important, make sure you meet the minimum requirements of this graphics heavy game

Does anyone understand difficulty rating well? I have DifficultyOffset set to 0.2 and OverrideOfficialDifficulty to 4 and we're still seeing 150+ Alpha raptors roaming the starting areas of The Center making it impossible to make any real progress, it feels like 🤔

By my understanding of those two settings, the max level of wild dinos should be.. 24? (0.2 * 4) * 30 and that's definitely not happening

But besides that, 4 should make the max level of dinos be 120 not 150, so what has gone wrong here

Difficulty is something that can be changed, if it becomes too easy we just roll difficulty back up once we have a base established, don't sweat it

that is because if you tame a dino, you get bonus levels, and after that you get level up levels.
the lower the dino level, the smaller the gap between your dino and the wild ones will be, so the harder it is.

for level 60 dino's you would do override 2, and offset left alone.
wild dino level is 30 times override if you leave offset at 1

That should cap the wild levels at 100. And then, so you don't see wild creatures anymore above that level, use this command when you play:

if lowering max level id go with this as its not as drastic as level 70 max and after taming they would still be ok least til you get hang of things

or adust stats per level so you get more melee and hp per level you put into character so dinos remain same but you get little tougher

or even tamed dino stats per level settings you can increase the hp your tamed dinos get per level making them little stronger or absorb few more hits

we have had to tweak these on old servers when we used stack mods and carry weight increase on players sometimes required balancing tamed dinos or dinos would be useless and couldnt carry the increase character weight so by increase weight on characters we had to balance dino weight so dinos could carry more then we could making them still useful. played on other ppl servers where they have infinte weight an dinos not getting increase or balnace and they were pretty much useless when you can carry 10x what anky can lol

Hi I play ASA on Xbox X but recently, things have been not working properly for me on the Center community server. If I drop anything from my inventory I can't pick it up, I can't pick up any structures or decor without having to use a pick up gun, and when I split anything stacked in my inventory one half disappears. Which I have did my best to work around those problems. BUT I just got on Wed and all my vaults, Smithy & fridge are empty "to me" but it's actually food & materials in them I just don't see it.

and not sure if you can get them on other maps, if you have not been on those maps

there is not specifically a "performance update". there is an engine update to ue5.5, which will improve performance in some cases, slightly. the community has just wildly exagerrated what it will probably do

if performance is not changing at all when you change graphics settings, the issue is most likely CPU performance

Happened to me a couple of times. Couldn't find a fix other than creating a new character and using console commands to level back up, locate the old character body, force myself into its tribe and take all my stuff back.

Problem is with the game not creating the character file on the destination server for a while so, if you log out before the server creates the file, you lose the character. I prevent the issue happening by learning a new engram every time I move to another map. That forces the game to save the character file.

At least, that's what seems to happen to me, and that's how I get around it.

Just talked about that. Can't be cerato, i an additions creature so they don't get explorer notes, you get the dossier when you tame it so it wouldn't show up missing, and I already tamed a cerato in vanilla

and people still get ported to host if they enter a cave

only way to play without tether is having a server, either renting, running it off your own equipment, or finding one to hop in on
