This is just a function of the client trying to talk to the cf api and steam to authenticate. Any comms interruption between endpoints will cause that to happen. Opening/closing the client is the easiest fix for it.

For best speed and most efficiency period for island ase. Theri on a raft for wood in the swamp. Takes 2 people. Use a grinder for thatch and flint. Doed for stone, anky for metal. Good metal sickle in a grass fiber location for fiber, or again, theri.

I've never been a big fan of the center, I don't really like the artifact caves and it's very big and spread out but there's a lot of areas with nothing in it. I never liked the fact that on pve resource caves are buildable either so people would always block them off.

The render distance for instance was turned down and made dynamic months ago, as a „temporary fix“.
When servers are filling, it’ll drop to about a brontos length.

if its a DLC (as in steam/xbox/playstation store) then no
if its just a premium mod like omega ascended or the premium maps, then they will need to add it and everybody will need to own it to play (much doubt it'll work this way)

The best dino will be the one that will be most useful to you. If you want to go to explore the sea I recommend that you tame the basilo, if you are starting and need some metal try to tame an argentavis. A rex will also be very good because you can use them on a boss fight
