I think the difficulty rating is more related to the missions. Though the bog missions appear to be deceptively brutal.

Any levels you apply to a tame will not carry over in breeding. Only the base stat after tame completion will.

The first thing you wanna do is understand that levels are irrelevant.

When you tame a creature, the stats it has immediately after the tame completes are its base. The base is what is inherited by its offspring and can only be raised through mutations from breeding, and mutagen from gen2.

Kind of. Most stats are useless on a lot of tames. Health and melee are the only stats of any real value in most but not all cases.

50 points in food or oxygen on a rex are 50 wasted points.

That’s 50 levels worth of points that have no value at all

Before you start breeding I suggest looking up a basic guide to explain how the mechanic works and then when you have a grasp on that look up a guide on mutation stacking.

Dododex. Download it on your phone, then when you knock out a tame you can open its inventory and see it’s values. You’ll add these values into Dododex as well as it’s level and it’ll calculate exact stat distribution.

I do love it when this topic comes up… It took me ages to work out breeding an mutations, there I was initially pumping all the lvls into Melee and the other in Health… then breeding thinking the Baby would have amazing stats 🤦‍♂️ When really a lvl 1 could have better stats than a higher lvl because it’s all down to the Base and Taming efficiency 👍🏼

Basically it’s better to find the best lvl, best stats (using dodo or wiki), you will need to find a tonne of dinos, merely saying that don’t focus on just the level

Add on the 50% bonus you get from tame effectiveness and it’s huge.

on the face of it, it sounds like you're being silly but working it out i think there's a half truth. If your electric is very very expensive then maybe.... Hmmmm. You would need a 200W processor running 100% full time to touch 50 cents a day (imagination numbers).
$10 for 30 days = $0.33/day.... 200W = 0.2kWh = 4.8kWh/day. $0.33/day / 4.8kWh/day = $0.145/kWh
If you're paying more than $0.145 per kWh and your server consumes a constant 200W, it's cheaper to pay for the server at $10/30days
Note that it's unlikely a server comes close to 200W and it's the wrong time of night for me to be thinking of these numbers

Ark is funky when it comes to loading structures and having stuff fall through. Your problem is going to be made worse by adding more structures, a base with 10,000 structural pieces will take a long time to load properly once you enter render distance and stuff that's meant to be sitting on-top of one of those pieces will be more likely to fall through the cracks as it loads up

No, the wiki is just worded weirdly, its talking about the PvP nerf with damage. EnableCryoSicknessPVE is for PvE to disable cryopod sickness entirely. EnableCryopodNerf is a mainly PvP nerf to release dinos and having them take more damage.

you can tell that EnableCryopodNerf is not about the same thing because they both start disabled but PvP still has cryo sickness by default.

okay, the cryopod nerf changes so the first dino you let out (the one that is awake) gets a debuff that makes it take more damage and deal less damage (depends on settings). it doesn't effect any dino after that until your player loses the Cryo cooldown buff.

so the wiki is talking about the awake dinos not having the cryopod nerf when its enabled by default as there are 3 more settings that need to be changed.

so to go over all the settings
EnableCryoSicknessPVE is a PvE only setting that enables cryosickness, disabled by default.
EnableCryopodNerf is a setting that enables an extra cryopod nerf to dinos that aren't being effect by cryosickness for a debuff to damage and taking more damage.
EnableCryopodNerf, CryopodNerfDuration, and CryopodNerfIncomingDamageMultPercent are settings to change the above one to actually work.
