so you just use those few weeks making cakes and putting them to the side and once they all need to eat you feed them and any extra put back up then continue the process

at some point you should hopefully get so much extra that you wont have to worry about being too low on them.

1x taming and max lvl 150 takes 22 cakes to tame vs a lvl 5 who takes 4. and the middle 85 takes 14

tl;dr on creature breeding is that each stat, before mutations, is inherited from one of the parents. if you get a baby from a phiomia with 13 hp and a phiomia with 56 hp and no mutations occur, the baby will either have 13 or 56 hp

the reason i waited between my first bump up to 1.0 and the wipe was purely because i was not confident i could handle all 100+ dinos, now that i can handle them, i did the wipe
also, what map are you playing? the spawn rates depend very much on the map to, i think with the island being the worst for high level spawns

There are a thousand way to start playing Ark. the one part you cant skip is leveling up (: my suggestion would be just to learn the game while you level up and then worry about strategy after you are a high enough level for it to matter
