My personal take on a TLC Liopleurodon, the base variant is non magical and somewhat rare to find in the wild. It is passively tamed and is non aggressive towards players but will flee if approached on a mount, it lives in fairly deep water and is ignored by other creatures until tamed. It can be ridden bare back or with a unique saddle.

It’s abilities once tamed include a buff at lower depths, like an opposite effect to the Basilosaurus minus the damage. The buff will increase damage resistance and increase the rate of healing. It is a very mobile mount that can move similarly to a Tapejara and is much faster than it’s current game counterpart, this makes it a good tame for dodging attacks by larger targets such as Mosas. It attacks with a simple bite which while modestly powerful can be enough to take down most smaller sea tames with little problem. In addition once tamed it has the ability to grab smaller targets like players and Ichthyosaurs, able to snatch riders off of mounts. When saddled it gains an extra seat for a rider and a forward mounted harpoon cannon which can shoot both tranq and normal harpoons making it an effective mount for damaging targets from a distance or even knocking out an opponent, it however trades the snatch ability with the gunner ability once saddled. It’s health is around that of a Megalodon which makes it weaker than much of the other creatures in the oceans, unless it has an Ascendant saddle and a health boost it likely won’t be able to tank dinos like Plesiosaurs, Mosas, or Tusos.

It has a magical variant which has the abilities of the original Liopleurodon and is also a temporary tame, it is identifiable by it’s shimmering aura and it’s prominent unicorn like horn upon it’s head. It does however keep the abilities of the TLC Liopleurodon minus the ability to saddle it up, it does move faster allowing for players to traverse the map better for drops and along with increasing the rate of drops nearby to almost triple.

I wish liopleurodon were more realistic and instead of having a timer and being a temporary tame they would behave more like plesiosaurs but way faster and they spawn higher up than them they also wouldn't give the boost they do instead they'd give an insulation boost and gain more speed the deeper they go into the ocean

the magical liopleurodon is a reference of an old internet meme, its kinda forgiven for having an unrealistic ability like that plus the magic oil is kinda OP... extending the time might abuse it

at least it give the reason why people should go to the ocean, just tame a lio and do underwater drop runs

Even running the red drops on Ragnarok is a better way of getting loot, I want the Liopleurodon to fill in a new niche as well as keeping the old niche through a special variant. It’s just useless atm concerning the meta of Ark, I just want it to fit in as something new and useful for people playing the game. Something that’s both an excellent PvP and PvE asset. Liopleurodon needs TLC attention desperately along with the Quetzal, Bronto, Gallimimus, Giga, Pachy, and the rest of the ocean creatures.
