Also, the megatherium is the best tame in the game for gathering chitin, you can use it to ground pound through any cave. Pearls would be best found atthe bottom of the ocean BUT theres a "bay" with small icebergs in between the snow and jungle biomes on the west side with a ton of pearls in the water. watch out for megalodons...

if you want a good all around tame for water get a basilosaurus. you do need to kill off the mantas around it, but other than that they re passive tames. they re immune to eels and jellyfish and they passively produce oil, are literal tanks and deal decent enough damage
