i found some entries that suggested downgrading to .10 otherwise you run into even more issues with Rocm, pytorch and a bunch of other things
so i mainly tried going back and forth, doing like rocm 6.3.x instead of 7.11 that needs python .10, then finding out the env still wont create, redoing the whole thing with different versions and so on and on and on ugh.
either its issues with creating the venv, or not having the gpu register properly, or OOM crashes

You don't wanna install stuff in the base os python. I use conda, because you can do conda create -n myenv python=3.10, then install everything on that one. Don't need to mess with the base os python or venv stuff.

Yeah, it's as easy as create, activate, then use pip or uv. The deactivate, if it doesn't work delete the env. No need to touch the base python at all.

are you running any specific UI btw? that works reliably? I tried several from comfyui to the very basic fooocus and trying to find one thats mainly stable. i like the versatility of comfy and that you can export/share json workflows but id rather have something that works reliably and fast over sth that has more variety/options

training on amd is apparently even more a nightmare than getting it running, like somewhat impossible or slow i never really looked into it, i usually do multi layered workflows only (and therefore basically having to rely on uis, im not going to invest the time it takes me to set it up without visual and convenient uis xD
im planning on trying to train though, one day. In theory i got good computing power with the 24 gb of vram etc but utilizing it sounded like somewhat of a nightmare and after running into these basic issues already ...

Primarily because I can't think of any places the train would ultimately.be useful. A track from herbivore island to the mainland is one thing. Maybe I could have a train run all the way from my spot in the sunken forest to the surface. There just isn't an extreme need for vehicular mobility, whether we're talking about the train or the extinction garage cars.

Get far enough in either and you really don't need either if you've got no qualms burning element or using a dino.

Nope there is a bug going around after doing missions that is deleting items from inventories

they eat a ton of raw, but will eat it consistently. The blood packs are best if you are in render, but because of the cooldown on them, like snails and veggie cakes they bug out when you leave render and they may not eat them. So you can do a mix of meat and blood on troughs and if anyone renders your base they may eat the blood, but the meat should hold them over if no one is rendering.

I did a missions around an hour ago, I went back to base to breed my ossidons, I pulled them out of the cryofridge, Took the cryopods to my breeding location, took out the ossidons, bred them, cryo'd them, went back to the cryofridge I took them from, hit transfer all, and they all went poof.
