it depends, like the west around cape town (western cape, and partly northern cape) are very mediterranian and the more east or the more north you go the hotter it basically gets. there are some "semi-deserts" in it, so it varies greatly
from what i recall, california could match the more fertile regions for sure, especially the mountain ranges seem similiar to the mountains we got.

and yea in ZA (and even more so in the north, close to namibia and botswana) its usually dry/wet season too, its more fitting than winter lol. except Western Cape and Northern Cape you wont get really cold temperatures anyways, Eastern Cape and Kwazulu Natal are the perfect spots for "winter" since it usually never goes much below 20°C^^

Attempting to run a dedicated cluster backed by proxmox debian VM's (one map per VM, 10 total machines with one non-map obelisk NFS master). Things are fine for a while, but then at a certain point, I end up bootlooping.
ZFS/SSD Backed, 48GB/Ram/VM (though they never go over 36 before dying. Not debian's OOM killer either afaict). Possible permissions issue, definite talent issue. Attempting to NFS obelisk and ini's has been a success on those parts.
Tends to happen after rebooting the server instances; regardless of if a player ever even connected to the server, let alone set foot on the beach.
Trying to be as official-like as possible (official dynamicconfig rates, currently fear evolved mod running on officials and that's it)
Capable of building my own toolset to mitigate issues (assuming I can identify the issues), but frustration is quickly surpassing the dedication level and fun factor.

Any pointers? Magic hands? Tarot readings?

Systemctl status reports process exited with code 0. Proxmox memory graph shows spikes - where the server loads and loads 30GB worth of gods knows what then just falls over dead. No logs, nothing helpful I've been able to find other than an occasional exit for "Code 3/NotImplemented"

i got a pretty decently sized island near swamp on an official center, same spot i held on ASE official for like 7 years or so lmao
best spot in the whole game for breeding, due to the spawns. can cap a carchar (including walking time to troughs) in less than 5 min or so

i liked the initial idea that wildcard did in ATLAS (and yes it was wildcard before some smartass tries arguing its a diff company, it was all the core devs that worked on that game, besides ark)
you had claim flags that would decay faster the more you placed of them. could only build within those flag radius´. and the most fun part was, after decaying, you could claim enemy flags and their whole bases!
the whole decay system needed a bit more tweaking, since it was still too long with 100+ flags but the idea was the way to go imo

I have a side quest for if you play rag, fly above the jungle cave, then travel to the swamp castle cave, or linger around viking bay beach area, but dont do this immediately joining the map, wait like 30 to nearly an hourish or so then go in a exploration and see if you dont crash

Yes, just single vacuum chambers across the oceans... the doors are open on the sides so its clear and you can pop in and out. Put benches etc. You can also walk on top like a bridge

I already made sure Disable Dynamic Downloading is ON, and I also clicked Uninstall All Mods.
After that I restarted/closed the game, but unfortunately the Fear Ascended mod still won't download on PS5.

i have not seen anyone pin down an exact cause. only happens to some people. probably due to slow internet in general, but disabling cosmetic mod downloads should help
