sometimes the venue is inconsistent so you need the flash constantly adjusting for you

sometimes the ettl is inconsistent so you need it as is

just make sure you get plenty of sleep and give it your all, and edit them in order after all three are done so youve got less to worry about.

ttl is pretty consistent for me, maybe adjust your metering mode. can always just compensate it too, i usually start out -.7 then i can raise it if im not getting enough light.

id rather start with a slightly dark subject and fix it in post, than overdo the flash.

controlled environments = manual mode
constantly changing lighting/ceiling height/subject distance = ttl

if there's any other kind of light around you'd need a stronger flash to kill it off by underexposing
