so you'd be... 0.009" out of infinity

you can usually disregard all this information because no one buys M39 to use with LTM lenses and you can't mount it very well without crossthreading

and J mount was a thing for like 7 seconds

i think we should clarify the whole FL FD mount thing because it seems a bit ambiguous rn as it is on the site lol
how about we only have FD on the ones that came out after the F1 (first camera with FD mount), and everything before that as FL

uhh the three canon film cams we have rn have both mounts which is confusing lol

pretty sure the only difference is that FD has two pins for communication between the camera/lens while FL only has one

FL lenses on FD cameras need to use stop down metering (you need to stop down the lens using DOF preview to get accurate metering)
FL lenses also have no "A" auto aperture setting, so auto aperture/shutter priority stuff just doesnt work

FD lenses on FL cameras work fine, the second pin in the FD lenses is just ignored by the FL body
most cameras can meter wide open just fine

and in case you're curious, FD and nFD (new FD) have the same compatability, nFD just has a release button instead of having to twist the breech lock
