Yup, not recommending any nikon z prior to expeed 7. go for z50ii instead for not much pricier.
Agree z apsc lens is very limited currently, might need to check out first if what they prefer available both native or 3rd parties

cheaping out with ftz adapters is only make sense if they already have bunch of F lenses lying around
