In my pants
@tough hull would you say the 200-600 is too heavy for a hike
wdym by rf?
Thats the canon mount...
Surely not
If you're climbing the mountain with that and the camera falls off
š¤£
if i were to carry all my gear it'd be like 8kg (bag included)
I think itās alright but not if you have it around your neck all the time
and what astro lens do u have?
Before Spain I will get a backpack holder
I went "hiking" with the 100-500, 600, r6ii with grip, tripod and head for hours today
And the 24-105
Light work
i think id opt for monopod and/or cheap tripod though, that would bring it down to 6-7kg
to be fair i didnt take anything else into account
stuff you would actually need to hike š
My gear is around 10kg but I use an actual Osprey hiking backpack with Osprey camera cube which distributes the weight better than any bag ive ever had
10KG
š
Nonono
@grizzled nebula this?
I'm saying if the branch is too long and it has already fallen off
Then just cut it to size then
Oh yeah
Thatās alr
I highly recommend my setup if ur into hikes
It seems very small to me.
im not looking to buy new stuff sadly
no money
Feel that Goose
Yes it's a small lens
I don't know what black magic it is
Get like these holders that hold the camera here on a backpack
It's the same size and weight as my 70-200
And is it better than Nikon's 180-600mm lens?
Idk what they are called
Yes
Neither is better
The RF 100-500 is a fantastic lens. New, small, light, top of the line glass and coatings
They are both very similar
Optically
But put weight into account the 100-500 is better
100-500 is sharper im pretty sure
Not extending further out with its zoom is nice too
Apparently it's sharper wide open and the 180-600 is sharper at closed down at f8
no
both are good
and they have their advantages and disadvantages
No where have you got this from
And what is the best lens available for wildlife photography, regardless of price?
Why is the 180-600mm lens bigger?
You lose 100mm of range but the 100-500 is lighter and isn't a telescopic zoom. for me, thats the winner personally
Wildlife is such a broad category there is no best
I've been trying to snag a fantastic deal on one but haven't seen them drop below $2600
Exactly
more focal length and internal zoom
Internal zoom š
internal zoom is so nice to have
I could do a lot of things if I had the R6 II Mark, was it the R6 II or the R6 III?
wtf
This is why I wanted the 200-500
Then apparently it's ass
YUMMY
Is great if the lens is small. However on a wildlife lens, at least for me, really annoying to have a lengthy boy hitting me as i walk since i attach to my backpack clip
Google them?
And one question, the R6 II runs on batteries, right?
Nah
AI remove on the sky or sensor/lens dirt?
like every camera, yes
no, solar panels
that'd great
Japan is turning footsteps into electricity to power Canon cameras
my a67 runs on fusion energy
F14 is weirder than the iso here
no you need to feed it grass
It would seem rather impractical and non-sensical to me
idk
same that my dog does, out n in
maybe a small solar panel will be good
My chickens also
Good for what exactly?
charging while i'm taking photos
idk
Panel would be 2smol
The size of a solar panel you can realistically fit on a camera will probably get you around 1% extra charge per hour or something
weren't you going to get the z6iii
Your camera really isn't holding you back from taking great photo's, it's your skill
i wouldnt jinx it too much tbh
the r6ii is good but id rather have the z6iii
They told me the R6 II was better
š
tbh it somewhat is but there are different things he should improve on yes
i have skill
I've also been doing photography since January
so yeah
yeah thats pretty short
In some ways yeah, but judging from their pictures I've seen so far the camera isn't the main issue by a long shot
lowkey i would recommend something like canon 5d II and 100-400mm L II
yeah, especially stuff like backgrounds
Their lack of RAW files makes their editing dang near impossible and cropping is not really viable at all for them either. I can't wait for them to get a camera though and ask us what every button in DarkTable does
mhm
But i get good photos sometime
i guess entry level mirrorless would be fine too
yeah if he wants to hop to mirrorless
Cheap DSLR and a sigma art 600mm zoom lens
No its nuclear
this one was pretty decent but its still somewhat boring, the goose isnt doing anything, there's no scenery that would make it more interesting
It would be great for photographing birds at a feeder or birds that are next to me.
Yeah it surely doesn't help indeed. But most of their pictures suffer more from a lack of knowledge, skill and creativity than a bad crop or edit
Thats like 90% of #š¦ć»creatures .. me included
its 150-600 contemporary or sport
That's not long lol
or 60-600
Contemporary*
i know
?
I meant contemporary
ah
That's why I say I progressed in a short time.
you have more to learn
what
I mean like
things
If u have the money just learn with a better camera
I took the bluetit photo in 2 and a half weeks of bird photography
true
-# I don't think they make money though
but iirc he doesn't rn
yeah if you want to impress viewers and make the photo have a meaning you need to focus on the moment more. get good angles, make the subject 3d and give the photo a story. its not just snapping a pic tbh
i dont think so
When did you start with photography?
When I was 6
You're still very new to this hobby, there's so much to learn, especially in bird photography that it's not really transferable in a single message. But your knowledge on how to approach birds, what spots to spend your time at seems to be the biggest problem rn.
Okay guys i found my next cam for wildlife
Totally lightweight
BBC has a couple of these
ayo what esports event is that?>
It's 30k a lens
ZLAN
yeah
get hired by a nature channel
Damn I wouldnāt lol
i started last fall and using a 10 year old dslr
Something in my phone's lens
Yeah teeny tiny sensor. Mine way better. My highest iso is 104.000 or something
Is this an esports thing
3 SWALLOWS JUST FLEW PAST MY WINDOW WTF???
Yeah for the ZLAN event
Swallows are winter birds here
Yes
Up north yeah but not south
Swallow season ended a short while ago
What
Thatās crazy
They arrived here like a few weeks ago
lol
Yeah peak was april
yeah we do
Don't see them though
They mainly live in central London
There's a nest in an art gallery near me
David Attenborough helped to introduce them there after they got extinct there
Nice
Yeah he did
Red kites I don't see much off which down south
if there's smth bad
ugly bird imo
they're so cute
Dude everything is cute to you
also spiders
man
this is
so cute
little dinosaur
Itās too much zoomed in plus sharp background
I have black kites, short toed snake eagles and kestrels in the area where i live
I see so many red kites
Isn't that a good photo?
i quite like it
Black kites mainly for me
he just said
It would be but too zoomed in
but why?
I went to a sanctuary a bit ago which is 8h away from me
Hella rare here
if you like it its good
I have seen one so far
Yep
And red kites I have seen like 30 or more
Wow holy shot
Nice
english birds names are quite strange
Yeah
It'll start for me in October/November. I saw one the other week flying around, not sure why its still here
yeah coal tit in finnish is kuusitiainen which means spruce tit
In German a peregrine falcon is called wanderfalke which is if you translate the individual words a hiking falcon or like migrating falcon
Kestrels are turmfalken which means towerfalcon
In Spanish, names tend to have more meaning, I think.
Because they nisted in towers, but now mostly houses
For example, the black kite has the name of a tool that has a dovetail (the tool is called MILANO in Spanish).
Dovetail tool I haven't heard of
Tits are meisen. Kohlmeise=great tit, Langschwanzmeise is long tailed tit, Tannenmeise is Coal tit, Blaumeise is blue tit
Joint yes
God why is everything so long
idk if it's called like that
probably not
anyways
Oh interesting in German the red kite is a Rotmilan
i'm gonna go birding
Nice
It isnāt
You know whatās long?
Rinderetikettierungsüberwachungsschutzgesetz
I don't think I'll find any birds, but oh well, I'll go see if I can find a log (I won't find one).
WHAT'S THAT
Some law about monitoring bull etiquette thing idk
i wish i could take this photo
I made up my mind
but it's impossible
I'm never learning this language
Hahaha
same š
i'm only learning english
i like english
and it's probably the best language
The harder a language is the easier it is for the people who speak it to learn new languages
it's good
Languages must be hard
it sounds better than spanish to me
Isn't English one of the hardest languages to learn because of the bullshit grammar
and i'm spanish
English has so much irregular shit
yes
Not hard
german bias
Like you just gotta memorize which is irregular
not at all
well
And not 30 laws which have to be applied to every word
bye
From Germanic and romantic languages it's easy
bye
and it very much depends on which language is your native language
If I was a mandarin speaker I would be like
čæē®ē“ęÆč”ęÆ
Apparently mandarin and Hindi speakers don't know their "the" in English
Which makes sense
Like The has a ton of different translations in German: Der, die, das, dieser, diese, diesesā¦
Atleast german is uniform for the most part
unlike french
just with a butt ton of rules
im thinking about learning Norwegian
might go there when i study for a semester
sorry aarvs
Yes
I hate u
I speak German and English fluent, French and Dutch well enough to communicate in most situations
I speak English so fluent, people ask me if Iām British sometimes š
I hate that
lmao
english is just easy like that
I speak a mix of it ngl
i try to lean British
I spent 12 weeks in the US so far
but im kind of used to American English
damn
I can unde Britās worse than Americans
doesnt really matter to me
Man I felt so tuff in kindergarten because I knew like five English words
Lmao
I still wrote sch as "s"
I still remember which my two fav words were : five & snake
no differentiation
five is a good word
Ye
bro this language sucks to learn
I had English as my second language at school so I had it first in 6th grade and in 6th grade was the preparation for the bilingual geography classes which you needed to have had English classes in fith grade before which I hadnāt but I was good enough that they allowed me in the course lmao
france is a cool place and all though
Definitely
pretty cheap flights too!
France and Germany probably are the top countries for technology
And britian
We have airbus all together and the coolest cars
France has Bugatti, Britain Rolls Royce (very tuff) and Germany has Mercedes, BMW, Audi etc.
But in general my favorite in Europe is Finland
Damn thatās a lot of reflection
I have been trying a long time but the lighting is so shit always
Yes
I love Finland
So cool birds
So cool animals
Yee perfect conditions
When capturing birds in flight do increase f stop ti get a deeper focal plane? I tried taking some pics of a raptor but i cant tell what's wrong. Idk if its haze or just bad straight up bad settings
Ill send pics later
id shoot wide open otherwise at 1/4000 u'll be a trillion iso
Thatās gonna be important
Nah
I personally for swallows go 1/2500-1/3200 at f9-11
insane
I always shoot wide open too
no need to stop down for sharpness with the 200-600, and focal plane is usually big enough
mmmmm sharpness
and that bokeh
- the reflection in the eye
perfect
this would be 6400 iso if I was f11 and it was daylight n sunny
cameras also generally af slower when stopped down that much
Depends lol. When I shot the ducklings I used f9 because they moved so fast and up close it was hard nailing the focus since too often the camera focused on the body and not on the head.
How much is this cropped?
Yeah well 50MP you can crop a lot so more is in focus at starting point already if you focus further away
I just go f9 if I want the whole subject in focus and thatās when they are up close
I don't find the need to stop down for more dof unless I'm basically at min focus dist and gl doin mfd bif
I need 400 2.8

I was mfd for ducklings lol
I had sharp eyes and slightly out of focus beaks
So annoying
F9
Could I take a good picture of a Fischer's lovebird in a cage?
we were talking about bif tho
what's bif?
I just said it bro
no
probably not
ahh yes
why
because its in a cage
What about big birds like swans in flight? I mean you can get focused body and out of focus head very easily lol
The other way round itās nice yeah
and
But sometimes you want the full bird in focus
is this a good photo
No
why
Cage
Yes
unless you have a very specific aim about like conservationism
and know what you are doing
Not allowed in a lot of contests too since they donāt allow pets or zoo animals
thats like the only option here
At least the contests I know about
why
wdym
Because they arenāt native there obviously and itās not in its natural habitat?
Lol š¤·āāļø do whatever yall want
Lmao
So you actually get online
Did you do any bird photography in the previous months?
Yup! I saw a northern parula!
Let me go find some pictures to share
Here's a few from the past weeks
I did indeed
Do yall just randomly @ me to see if I'm still alive lmaooo
idk i just thought ill do it
if you look it up this is the only time i tagged you
it is in an obscure place
Sadly
We need to bring the birding wonders to the masses
Along with the immense debt in the wallet
Lmao
Well I dont really use discord anymore
what's that?
Eastern Rosella
nice
Your first message here in 2 years
A couple in that old batch. Sigma 150-600 C, Tamron 150-600 G2, Sigma 120-300/2.8 and Sony 200-600.
Looks so clueless
the sea is nice with the colour
chirping nearby
wait wtf never noticed these baby gulls!!
Just got photos of a red wing blackbird in flight. Hoping no rolling shutter
sick
cool bird
why
oh ok
š¦āā¬
blacbird
no
i can't see the red
It looks too much like a robin
thats not aarvs is it
what the fuck does that have to do with the image i sent
no no no
i was answering mango
wait
replying
he didn't send an image so..
wait
v
Instead of reading aarvs I read mango
i wanna see a spoonbill
SAME
i went to camargue last month to try and see them but didn't manage to find them unfortunately
Damn you don't have like 5 different breeding colonies around your house?
L
what in gods name is trhat? black bvaby swan
bro i should go to bed i cant type on computer no more lmao
Juvenile eurasian coot
They look funky as hell with their red heads
baby moorhen
never seen those babies lol#
not around my house lol
I just packed most of my stuff for sweden
everything is a few hours away
wait really?
ye
yep
man i'm fucking tired š
they look cool
not only you
baby coots have a fully red head i believe
red yellow
and there were only moorhens lol
@wide flint send the image in fish photography
i saw 1 greebe but couldn't get a picture
what kind
mf kept diving
little grebe
they're cute
if they see you and its a bigger body of water, they are gone man
they swimm like fish anbd very fast
first time i saw one up close i was 1m away and the moment i took the shot it heard my D3100s mirror, dove down and i did not see it again
there are around 8 of them at my birding spot
it was a little pond but everytime it turned my camera towards it it would just dive again instantly
annoying that there was a fence
you gotta hide and cant move
they key thing is when you see it, wait till it dives for food (not because you scare it) then you get your cam ready in the direction where it dove down so when it comes up you can take the shot
worked for me like that
well kinda
anyway imma go to bed now so gn
gn
I have photos of baby coots, gallinules, and a sand piper somewhere on my pc
they like to fly low over water catching bugs
Ok so were do I find red kites
My AF with this lens is very frustrating. Ive seen peoples results with my camera and a newer lens so ik its me. Its always too far forward with this lens pain
idk the sky
Pretty broad
Thatās pretty helpful
Who else is from the uk here?
@dark ermine I may be hallucinating here but you are right?
I canāt remember lmao
This snake feedin on a baby European sterling nest
Watched it slither straight in the youngins hole
Pause that sounds wrong
Ok I actually couldnt work out what this means in context
We watched the snake slither into the young European Sterling's nest, which is a hole in this palm
two versions but happy with either
also seen another jay picking up nesting material
Right that make sense lol
different birds than usual, need to find them again
i like the wider crop better
Breedin season. Gettin them nests nice and plush
Mc Wren
So here's a few, it looks like I've straight up missed focus, but while taking the pictures it was locked on to the face/eye and I'm at 1600/2500 for most of these with ISO 250/500. I've cranked up the shadows cause the RAW is way too dark. I don't know if it is an AF issue or haze or something else. I took a picture of a stray cat that popped up, and AF tracking, etc., was working perfectly fine.
Also these are heavily cropped/screenshots
yeah, got sunburned myself so can tell in two ways lol. didnt think of it as it was cloudy earlier, but it is springtime
all the new warblers as well going around
this was shot with a cloudy background similar to yours
i darkened it in post and added tint to make a fake sky lol
that is one clean picture of a baby coot. Whenever ive tried the fuzz just throws the camera off
sorry, whats ettr?
expose to the right
ahhh
shooting against a cloudy sky is always pretty annoying
fair enough, I think i was excited to get a shot of the kite. Was annoyed things didnt work out but its nested near my house so ill try again some other time
nice pf
moorhen*
quality is quite horrible lol
ah i thought coots and moorhens were the same
for the subject its decent imo. even if ive steadied myself theres something about the fuzz on the chicks that just fks with my camera. I got some adolescent pictures which ill post later on. (I think theyre of moorhens)
the landscape was beautiful
and the gulls were cool
pheasents literally everywhere on this island
birmingham....Alabama š
this shot is beautiful
thank you!
quick and dirty edit on this one. just wanted to get something out c: hopfully will get some better shots soon
gn
how many mp is this crop?
i think it's just too far away
How do you figure out cropped mp? Can you do it from LR or is it from the image properties? And yeah i guess its too far to get any thing worthwhile :I
both
if u go to lightroom and press "i" it'll show the dimensions
basically u multiply them then divide by 1 million but u can also just add a decimal after the first digit and multiply them same shit
so this photo is aobut 3.8 x 2.5 = 9.5 mp
im sorry but is this bird feeding that other bird??
i didnt know birds kept doing that outside of their nest phase
Boop
ducc
THATS A GOOSE BRO
Too much cropping and missed focus
my bus stop birds
Curlew????
@tough hull So what are the main reasons why they recommend the R6 II instead of the Z6 III?
A few rough shots I managed to grab. Annoyed I couldn't get clearer shots but didn't have my gear set up for birds. I was walking down a major road with no tree cover or water nearby.
Ah okay. Ill let you know later today, im interested myself.
Damn, all my photos I took in Korea are super blurry. My 300mm just couldnt reach
Raw precap I prefer. Plus itās cheaper. There are also better high end lenses I would like to have.
Who lol
I mean aināt it good if they wanna buy it?
Ofc it is, would be super sick if that works
Yeah lol
I am doing a paid photoshoot in a month lol not wildlife and Iām kinda worried imma fuck up lol
Itās a youth award ceremony or something idk and they wanted a young photographer lol
which crop?
1
how much are they offering
and how many
Not sure yet
they want my kestrel pics and said I should tell them a price
Yeah
Well did they tell you what educational purpose
Like in a textbook or something
you should probably consult some of the people who make money with their pictures here
Nooooo
forgot it was right next to me and i hit it with my knee š
thank fuck i have good reflexes
I didnāt last time
Yee a Website/App for learning for your hunting license
Lmao that happened to me on saturday
had my 200-600 on the floor next to me on its lens cap, knocked it over with my knee but caught it
lesson learned
Fortunately it didnāt break
I will lay out carpet in my room though still this year
I do so much with my camera gear also in my room like packing, cleaning etc. I donāt wanna risk anything anymore
I wanna go photograph the bee eaters again on wednesday, not sure yet tho because it might rain and I might not even have my car
I wanna go see them tomorrow maybe
Take pics
I got no school on wednesday so would be perfect, rain would be kinda meh tho
Replicate my kingfisher pic but with bee eaters maybe lmao
take my tent with me
Just chill there the whole day
Cant see it for now
What focal lengths you got?
No school on wednesdays????
only this wednesday lol
Oh wednesday
Warra autocorrect lmao
In my last year of school i had about 40 days off due to teachers being absent
Lool sick
1- excelent
2- i like it
3- i don't like it
i have a little baby bird sitting in my tree
he doesnt know how to be scared of humans yet
free pictures
I only saw it once in the woods and it ran away. I don't know how you managed to take that picture. Is it cropped?
But why does that camera have fewer megapixels?
it's mine
Oh really?
barely cropped
Pretty nice
Was it a coincidence that the crow landed so close?
And how did you get that gray background?
i always put my digital signature on the exif that's a proof that shot is mine
yep
not really it was curious about me they are very smart
and for the background it's just grayscaled it and played with the light on lightroom
wdym
Nice work!
and do u have a a6400?
It has impressive quality.
They come in a group one creates a diversion and the other steals what I have in hand and at this moment it was a sandwich
(hopefully they didn't steal it)
the lens did mostly the job
wow
I mean, we don't really know that intelligence is
they are really smart birds
I call ability the way one does things or how one plans things
No it doesnāt
If itās about megapixels go Sony
I only want quality
that's all probably
a7 V has 32.9
and good ISO levels
Thatās all modern cams
corvids can use tools (even create tools), have complex social bonds (they mourn the loss of friends or loved ones for example), they feel joy and can play just for fun
not all i think
Do you know where I can buy it second-hand and what the minimum price is?
All newer ilcs from the bigger brands
and why is nikon more expensive?
what's ilcs
Idk I gotta continue learning physics
Interchangeable Lens Cameras
why physics?
Ok
BECAUSE I have a test upcoming
So does the r6iii
ye, both are pretty much the same camera
R6iii has opengate
What do you think about me buying your camera instead of the Z6 III?
Ye idk the price on it
š
A7V has too? Iykyk
30fps
Idk bro
R6iii has 40 fps
š¤·
But it block the camera when buffer is full
Wonāt be full
Iāve got CFexpress
If I had a7 V ofc
lol
@grizzled nebula idk if i already ask u this
Do you have any landscape photos of the Milky Way?
I have yet to find a situation where buffer size hold me back tbh
How big is it lol
I say this because I want to know how the R6 II performs.
A 7 IV has like idk 14-15 images for buffer I think
In the contrary, having to roam 30 images everytime I precap is quite cumbersome
No
u should try
Its good
i think
I suppose
Yeah good as any other camera
Only problem is that many programs donāt take CR3 files
Meaning you gotta convert them properly
But isn't it raw?
I haven't learned about astrophotography yet.
CR3 is raw file
astrophotography programs
So what should I photograph with a camera for that?
if i could
wow
with the r6 ii
If u want easy astro with canon u need a dslr
why a dslr?
Holy shit https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-31711446
But you mean easy, I don't care about the difficulty.
omg
Cause they use cr2 which most softwares can take
And why can't mirrorless cameras do that?
Do you think they could with an update or not?
Wasnāt the guy that shot this on this server here?
really?
Cause they use cr3 which 90% of astro softwares will not be able to use
so, that's the only issue
Previews lookin like I mightve cooked
I met the winner of the Sony youth photographer of the year on another server
These are tons of photos stacked on top of each other using a very wide lens like a Samyang
If you wanna do things like these (credit to @bright willow ) you need a whole telescope setup
how do u prove that?
I would say that most photographers are not here
professionals or advanced ones idk
telescope...
šø
š š
so expensive
maybe in a few years
but not for now
All of photography is expensive
astrophotography a lot mroe
More
if u want only landscape photography i mean
Wildlife is somewhat on the cheaper side with landscapes because you don't really need extra gear for it besides body and lens
However, landscape if you get into filters š
u only need camera and lens
Yeah
cameras should be cheaper
there's a lot of missed talent because of that probably
meh
idk š¤·
I get out of the house to take photos because I enjoy it. I don't care what the pros are doin too much and who they are
Its the same autofocus and sensor. The R6 II has upgraded battery life, IBIS, and dual sim cards
but u take really good photos
only that
R8 is lighter I guess as well. If you can spend the couple hundred extra I'd go a R6 series
Canon usually R(lower number) -> higher quality series
You don't need to start at the best stuff
You can buy an old DSLR with an older telescopic sport lens and get great results
They have similarities but the r6ii is better
R8 is more than enough for what you want to do
canon r00 when
@magic crown #š¦ć»creatures message
This photo somehow has made me like a raven (I think they are ugly)
but the beak š„²
120mp, 240fps burst
Canon r
Canon s
Yes "only" that stuff but the battery life upgrade is huge, IBIS is massive, and dual sim cards is a nice to have
Battery life + IBIS makes the R6 II way better than the R8 IMO. I have to bring spare batteries with me and have them full charged every trip
Ibis is nice but not super special
Not having ibis must suck so bad
If you ever wanna record something on the go I imagine its very very nice
Most video shooters i believe dont want ibis
A few times I wanna just get a quick video of something and then replay it and every micro stutter is painfully obvious
Yeah well many people have discord nowadays and itās not 100% obviously lol
Not really
More like 100-200photos max
Or this guy sucks at editing
How is that "not really"
Thatās nothing
I did 5.7k
For a single landscape subject?
Thatās a lot
ha?
Hydrogen alpha
Aka infrared
If you have a modded camera you do 100-200 shots very often for these amounts
Thats the milkyway bro
It has Ha
On a good night you can get the milkyway even with an iphone in nightmode
I digress, its still photos stacked together. I was talking about the technique not arguing on what "a ton" is interpreted as
davinci resolve
Take a look at Sonyās masterpiece in super-telephoto performance!
This exemplary 100-400mm super-telephoto zoom lens is built to give you the reliability and control that pros demand, all while remaining portable enough to take anywhere.
It is the ideal choice for capturing wildlife, birds, sports, and more with stunning clarity. With a cons...
damn this new lens is really strong on most point
Yeah but normal Milky Way everyone can do
looks pretty sick
The astrophotographers always do more
just a bit short
100 shots is not a lot for them
I have it, no clue how to use it
Also I wanna borrow ur 100-500 ok, tired of this RF -> EF adapted AF
yeah 500mm will be better
lol what lens do u have again
Tamron SP G2 150-600mm and firmware upgraded
honestly the takeoff precapture isn't perfect but it gets the job done sometimes
I really hate bugs. Why did I capture this, I don't wanna look in my library now
so u could take a photo with the same quality as the r6 ii?
They're so cool
This depends more on the lens and environment but yes? Its the same sensor
A cheap <$1000 DSLR can take a better photo than a r6 ii if it has better glass
yeah but i think the price of lenses between r6 ii and a cheap dslr camera are similar
I watched a buncha reviews and it seems the way to go is to have this + 400-800. Its not really worth putting TC on. With a 1.4x its about equal sharpness with 200-600.
Stupid dragonfly the bird is chasing stole my autofocus
looks like it focused on nothing lol
i think the best combo is 200-600+aps-c body
that's make a 300-900mm wich is quite pretty good
Nothing is really in focus, but it didn't even attempt the right object
. Unlucky

only 400mm
for me at least 500mm
yeah 500mm will be better but still a good lens
1
id like to see a 200-600 gen 2 with upgraded stab and sharpness I think that would be peak. 400-800 is a bit much a lot of the time
I like the pine
yeah
yeah maybe one day who knows
400mm is still a decent amount
But most of the time you'll be cropping
if ur in a zoo
idk if nat geo photographers do that
Only with small birds
Big birds you may not
You will most likely always crop with small birds
nat goe photographers have camera setups they didn't have to personally pay for
lucky people š
So don't compare people here to them
yeah
They earnt it
idk if is there a big difference between 720mm vs 500mm
Obviously they would
They get it for free because they get sponsored by the company
This is 400mm
nope sorry
Alex may
Idk I think I remember seeing some
Love Ospreys but they never land anywhere near me
this is at 600mm + huge crop and its flying away from me so high
They troll me, I want a good Osprey photo
is that your photo?
what's that
dirty sensor?
Could be dust on the lens, sensor, or in the air
might be sensor dust but need to look at another photo to be sure
Looks like just something in the air, swapping between photos it disappears
maybe an insect
Could be. Could be an insect, sand flying around, seeds, anything really
If this photo was viable (it isn't) I'd just use remove tool and stamp it out anyway. Artifacts like that aren't an issue these days
Maybe
Idk
This is a pretty hard question
yeah
I finally dun did it. Got a small bird launching into flight captured + a handful of extras these are just the first 3 I've looked at so far
nice photo but pretty dark bird
Its a RAW file not a JPG like ya used to
Can raise/lower shadow data to show more/less. The blackbird is pretty black though š
oh ok
YAY
nice photo then
@tough hull but i'm seeing that canon has more expensive lenses
so why is people recommending me r6 ii now
Because you saw aarv's photos and said "I want the R6 ii instead of the z" one day
nono
They recommended that camera to me when I wanted the Z6 III
Canon's AF is top tier. The price difference between proprietary brand lenses isn't that huge
If you wanna go the Z6 III, go the Z6 III. The cameras are similar
We can't make every choice and research for you
yeah but i'm getting confused because people before were telling me- buy the z6 iii, and now the r6 ii
idk what to do
and the cheaper option
damn wtf, just found out my tripod + gimbal head new are worth 1.2K euros
only?
WAIT
that's a lot
