eventually you get better at pointing and if you have a better camera its more likely itll actually find the bird

if you can find somewhere where theres lots of birds flying in a predictable direction you can just keep trying over and over and eventually ull get some good pics just through random chance

I like to go on a dock where theres lots of swallows flying around and trying non stop I can get about 1 in focus pic per 100 and one sharp pic with a good pose every 1000 pics or so

I saw a video yesterday of a technique. Put a large branch vertically in a field about 1m away from a feeder. Put a popup backdrop so that the backdrop fill the frame between the two items. Then when birds come in they fly and land on the branch then fly -> feeder and you get photos mid flight to the feeder
