if u get really close to the water even with waves it'll look nice

i had my 600 touching the water pretty much today

It just wasn't happening with the lake's edge

or rather I wasn't dressed for being in mud and potentially going in

grizzled nebula
#

don't need to go in

I agree it looks better

grizzled nebula

i hang the lens over the bank

grizzled nebula

that's nothing

that's basically the same as what i had to deal with today

its about 1 meter, or 3ft in my units. I'm good I do not regret trying to hang over it kek its all soft mud

some eurasian blackbirds are nesting near my home

#

and two common kestrels

#

the field just has so many ticks so i dont really wanna go there

undone slate
#

well that feeder has been made with a 3D PRINTER

naive fiber
#

this isnt the best design I dont think

tough hull

yes I can id fine

#

this is a bluetit

#

also hence the question marks

undone slate
#

i mean it's not bad

naive fiber
#

photography wise I mean

undone slate
#

idk

#

So, from what I searched, this was the best.

#

but if you have one better you can send me on DM

naive fiber
#

I saw this once

tender galleon
#

have yall seen the bird buffet on instagram

undone slate
#

yea but i can't do that with my 3d Printer

undone slate
#

well

#

I have a dog, I think the dog could destroy that...

tender galleon
#

is 3d print feeders good for birds

#

like microplastic stuff idk

#

i prefer mine made of wood

undone slate
#

It is special plastic for outdoor use.

naive fiber
#

these types of designs are nice tbh

tender galleon
glossy sage
naive fiber

I made mine of wood as well

tender galleon

i have 2 house shaped feeders

naive fiber

honestly looks better but you get the issue of warping in rain

PETG?

undone slate
dusty fog
glossy sage
#

Outside moisture and the sun will dry rot PETG causing it to become brittle and flake apart

#

PETG is porous and absorbs moisture like crazy

undone slate
glossy sage
#

Its probably fine for a few months to a year

#

If you're wanting something you'll never really need to replace use wood or a pre-made plastic feeder that uses an industrial sealed plastic

undone slate
glossy sage
#

PETG also grows bacteria really easy so make sure you're cleaning it probably weekly

#

Wood absorbs and eats bacteria so its not that big of an issue with wood stuff

undone slate
glossy sage
#

I don't know who they is or what you read

undone slate
glossy sage
#

And then read what link?

#

I used to repair cosmetics on boats with a 3D printer and used ASA plastic

glossy sage
#

Yes

undone slate
#

PETG offers better resistance to chemicals, oils, and UV light compared to PLA. This makes it more suitable for outdoor use or applications involving exposure to solvents.

glossy sage
#

Compared to PLA sure. PLA is cheap bad plastic

undone slate
#

ASA is also good, but I think both are fine.

1 - stop reading AI overviews
2 - do what you want to do. I can't stop you. I'm just telling you the down sides. If they didn't exist everybody would be doing it

undone slate
glossy sage
#

I don't really mess around with food related stuff and materials. For example like why you should not use plastic cutting boards and should use wood

glossy sage
undone slate
glossy sage
#

That looks like an overview? Youve cropped out any important information

#

Anyways I wouldn't use any of those plastics for outdoor usage long-term. When it comes to food though I definitely would not personally use any of them. I do not enjoy having to clean extra stuff

tender galleon
#

wouldnt trust ai overview on that kinda stuff

glossy sage
#

Aren't you asking about a bird feeder

undone slate
#

oh okk

#

But I think it's an economical way to make a feeder, so you don't spend money.

glossy sage
#

I mean you are spending money. Plastic and energy costs aren't free

undone slate
#

but I spend less money

#

Besides, that filament has many uses, not just as a feeder, and since I have it, I'll take advantage and make a new feeder.

glossy sage
#

Here I can get enough wood for a small hanging feeder tray and liquid nails for < $10 so meh

undone slate
dusty fog
#

3d printing being economical is news 😂

undone slate
#

Besides the fact that I already had that filament, I think it was more worthwhile to make it myself, as I believe the birds would eventually come anyway.

undone slate
glossy sage
#

And you probably don't want your birds getting sick and having diarrhea all over your stuff and you

tender galleon
#

this better looking for photos imo (shitty pic)

glossy sage

I put some whole peanuts out the other day and they were gone before I could even get my camera out of the camera cube

Cuz I have only seen them twice since I got into photography? Or more likely noticed. I have prolly seen them before but not noticed. Now I saw them one time out my school window and one time on a street next to a church

tough hull
# undone slate not bad 😭

The bird is in shadow and a branch is blocking it. Nothing I would post in galleries, more likely a keep because it’s my first shot

glossy sage

Rock what are you using to edit

undone slate
glossy sage
#

I've never used Darktable but looks like it has a decent denoise on it

undone slate
#

well, idk if my photo has a lott of noise

glossy sage
#

It has a lot of noise

undone slate
#

idk

#

But I'm still not sure if it's worth editing this photo.

glossy sage
#

See how this looks like its speckled? Thats noise. Its all throughout the photo

#

A major improvement would be denoise for you

undone slate
glossy sage
#

It is a pretty bird and you can't make your camera amazing. I think a better aspect ratio, denoise, and fixed lighting and it wont be half bad

naive fiber
#

It'll look better

undone slate
#

idk if you have seem them

glossy sage
#

I like your goldfinch in that photo Rock

#

I think ya just need to improve the processing on the photo

undone slate
#

so that's the problem?

tough hull
undone slate
#

oh if that's the problem ok i will denoise it

naive fiber
#

Wait it doesn't shoot raw

tough hull
undone slate
naive fiber
#

No does it or does it not

tough hull
#

You can’t denoise jpeg

undone slate
undone slate
naive fiber
undone slate

my camera can't do it

tough hull
naive fiber
#

I'm manifesting an upgrade for you

undone slate
#

But can I get a good photo with my camera?

naive fiber
#

You could

#

But it'll be harder

undone slate
undone slate
naive fiber
#

Because you have a tiny sensor

undone slate
tough hull
naive fiber

1/2.3 I assume

undone slate

Do you think my camera is better or the P1100?

naive fiber
#

P1100

#

But neither is good

#

P1100 can shoot raw and has a better lens

undone slate
tough hull
naive fiber
undone slate
tough hull
#

Isn’t it like 3000mm optical?

undone slate
naive fiber
#

Yeah

#

I haven't seen good results out of that focal length though

tough hull
#

Bad quality or lack of ibis

undone slate
#

But my camera and the P1100 have the same sensor, I think.

naive fiber
#

Same size

#

I doubt the same sensor

undone slate
#

then the quality would be similar

naive fiber
#

With the noise that your camera has I doubt it

stable mantle
#

So i went down the local pond and saw something i didn’t think would be there at this time of year yet 🤔

naive fiber
#

I think the p1100 will have less noise

undone slate
#

So a 3000mm camera has better quality than my camera?

naive fiber
stable mantle
undone slate

oh ok

I opened photoshop and drew a gradiant in the top left thats white and a linear gradient at the bottom thats black and made the red on the head brighter
