whoever thought that putting a white mini on a white background was a good idea needs to rethink their collage skills
Whoever thought AoS was a good idea needs to rethink their career
😮
burn
aos is a mess... They have made elves with hammers... Elves... With... Hammers... FFS
What's next, flying dwarves with swords?
Well I think it's named a Cutlas
I honestly really like many of the new AoS factions
though they do not look right put on the same table as the unupdated fantasy factions
i'm waiting for a skaven codex not from 7th edition
I just despise the Fyreslayer
oh yeah they suck
@dusk hill the issue of elves with hammers probably stems from how elves are commonly depicted as more elegant and graceful, focusing on finesse rather then brute strength
tl;dr tolkien elves wouldn't have done it so it is forbidden
i'm a sucker for unconventional fantasy so yeah i don't see the issue personally
I bet next is humongous BROAD & THICC daddy male elves
Im pretty sure its less to do with tolkien and how warhammers in general arent really considered elegant weapons like Ifrit said lol.
Then again, cow-elves.
An abomination between an elf and beastmen...
LMAO
Like, I don't mind going for animal motifs but cattle animals like bulls or yaks don't really fit the elven aesthetic for me personally. I feel like I'd have less issue with it if those goddamn helmets weren't so atrocious.
and they will be a furry faction
i also feel elves would better suite high craftmanship 1h warhammers
It would fitting well for the Empire of Man
a bec de corbin would fit elves aswell
In real life warhammers are... might disappoints you.
They might look puny but they were highly effective.
Bonk and crack at the same time.
have a spike for make some hole too.
Indeed.
I saw several in a museum once.
The look kind of small but the guide assured us that they were quite heavy and since they were designed to the used from horseback, they were absolutely deadly.
Helmet of not. The best outcome was a heavy concussion that knocked you out.
i think the technical term for that type of very small-headed hammer with a bill on the back is a "lucerne" but i might be wrong
but overall elves with hammers does seem kind of dumb being that in both warhammer and tolkien, elves are extremely snooty and wouldn't be caught dead using something so simplistic a dwarf could use it
there's even an elven sword used by Gandalf in LOTR called Foehammer
but it's a sword...
actually i think "the Foehammer" is its "title", per se
iirc the name is Glamdring
cba to google it
anyway, overall elves do tend to favor speed, nimbleness, elegance, agility, precision, and such like that
and a hammer just doesn't really hit that
imo
dark elves in warhammer use crossbows though? maybe they don't care?
The Hammer is a Squats weapon
i think hammers are cool but i don't think they were actually used very much in the olden days
probably more typically as a tool-turned-weapon in practice than a large amount made for footsoldiers but i'm REALLY not the HEMA guy so i'm probably wrong as hell
would love for an actual HEMA person to chime in on this if one exists in this discord
your platemail might protect you from slashing but a proper smack from a flanged mace (which is pretty much designed to pierce / rupture armour) would still crush your skull
so then the function of helmet was to keep the remains inside one pot
Pole axes typically had hammers on the back
so essentially a long-ranged Bonk
or they had the spikey bit which could pierce armor or hit into the seams and drag people off horsebacks and so on
@ruby jay the brits used a lot of warhammers during the 100 year war
give em to the archers n just bonk people that get too close
bonk
i don't know anything about the hundred year war rip
i knew a guy who was a massive history buff but history bores me unless it's about guns 🙁
ah yes, guns, the things that happened after the great bonkening
god left this chat a long time ago
history of archer 101 - "hey bob, you see that guy over there? I wanna stab him but still remain standing here*
loads trebuchet with malicious intent
fuck him and everyone near him lmao
and when we wanted to get further and further away but increase our kills:shots ratio we stole the fun sparky stuff from the chinese to kill each other with
ain't that wacky
fire has been weaponized for a long time now
i meant black powder
explosions in the hands of man was a pretty big deal
since previously all you could do was basically like
hope the enemy got hit by a lightning bolt i guess?
but just big fuck-off rocks from a trebuchet were pretty destructive in their own right with kinetic energy alone
technically explosions are just very, very fast burning
oh right, i should not try to brain on mondays
i have a buddy in jail who's really really big into explosives
it never works properly
he's not in jail because of explosives though
anyway he'd probably have a shit fit if he read that comment lmao
i don't know that much about it myself but explosives are pretty scary
there´s this story about people storing fertilizer and then the fertilizer having a bit of a leak of fuel oil which essentially led to a town having a literal mountain of ANFO in it
and then that thing had a wee bit of an oopsie and then it kinda suffered a critical existence failure and ceased to be
yeah i think that's more or less what just happened in Beirut, Lebanon
the port authority are fucking retarded for letting that happen
that was a really big deal
in america, as far as i know, it's quite difficult to get fertilizer with ammonium nitrate in it anymore
1 because safety and 2 because terrorism
yeah, that´s true
but the history of explosives is actually quite interesting
since they were a bit of an unsung hero during the industrial revolution
mining became much more of a thing because of it, for example
and that provided access to lots and lots of good stuff
I just spat my drink
lol
wut
Sorry its just you saying that so casually
named after the guy who invented dynamite
I just lost it

what if i was typing it super carefully
Maybe THEN we could have avoided this disaster
lmao
but jokes aside thats actually really interesting
yeah
irony at its finest
well
dynamite wasn't ever intended to be a weapon
in any capacity
it's really good at making really big holes in mountains
so you can drive trains through them
and steal gold from them
angry dwarf noises
angrier dragon noises
technically there´d be no more wars if they´d be devastating enough for certain weaponry to be used
but that´s part of the MAD theory
MAD standing for Mutually-Assured Destruction
strictly speaking, i think most explosives were intended for construction (or destruction of nature) rather than killing people
I mean
to be meta that was the invention idea of MANY things
But in the end; People suck.
a lot of things kinda originated from military purposes
that is also true
C-4 is rarely used for the purposes of killing people directly
even in military use it's for like
breaching walls or levelling buildings
but then we've got the super awesome cool stuff
that shoots explosives at really high speed towards things
like i said last night
i REALLY wish i could have an M3 MAAWS
or an M72 LAW
carl gustav in bc2 was so annoying
i really miss bc2
even with hearing protection, people who operate the M3 or its previous iterations are only allowed to fire (i think) 6 shells a day because the concussion wave from firing it alone has severely detrimental effects on the operator
that thing is a serious piece of equipment
it actually might be 3, or 6 for being within a certain radius of the operator
By the way, I love Thunder hammers. AOE big BONK.
didnt expect to indirectly start an argument about warhammers from posting a high elf model
it do be like dat
Ended up getting a quote just for my lapua and its 1200 bucks

Gustav was great with the tracking dart
Wish bf4 wasnt so full of hackers now too
tabletop simulator has been such a lifesaver since all the LGSs in my state are locked down

1200 dollars is quite a lot for customization, I legit wouldn't spend that much on a firearm in almost any case
It's CARL GUSTAV you Jävla punk ass skit unge!
xD
i'm not really sure why people started calling all rocket launchers and recoilless rifles "bazookas"
even calling them RPG, while still not quite correct, is still better
I just find the word bazooka very kiddo and memy, just been saying it all my life
lol
anyway but yeah technically the Carl Gustaf is a recoilless rifle, meaning that it uses a full jumbo-sized cartridge that blows the projectile forward down a rifled barrel and blows the back out to relieve pressure rearward, hence "recoilless" but not really completely recoilless of course. this is in contrast to a rocket launcher or an RPG wherein the munition continues to accelerate under its own propulsion after leaving the tube and is typically fin-stabilized. Big Carl is basically just a really huge single shot rifle.
I just like that I first blows, and drills a hole in the wall/plate, then sends the charge into the bunker/tank and then blows up inside
yeah there are a few munitions like that
i think the standard High Explosive munition is set to explode a short amount of time after impact
so it should theoretically penetrate like
plywood or something
then detonate a few feet into a room
that goes for 20mm at the very least
but then there are also munitions the military was working on a while back, not sure if they ever put them into working
where one can set them to detonate a certain distance from the target
so they would theoretically fire it through and open window and have it go off in the center of the room
this was the XM25 i think
a very needlessly complex endeavor
easily beaten by the Neopup PAW20
XM25 didn't pass experimental stage iirc
cause you can just get airburst rounds for launchers
the issue being tho that they have higher collateral
XM25 was just another military industrial complex/defense contractor money pit
a solution looking for a problem
The XM25 was deployed in the Middle East for field trials
Which is further than most weapons get
Personally I don’t really see why they cancelled the project
It seemed like a solution to having to call in an air strike in almost every engagement in some place like Afghanistan
THAT is probably the part the military industrial complex didn’t like
An XM25 was projected to cost 35,000 dollars with its rounds at about 55$ a shot.
Seems way more cost effective than an A-10 strafing run.
agreed
but also way less cost effective than if they had just bought PAW20s
¯_(ツ)_/¯
the biggest thing one learns being in the military is that it's rarely about what makes sense or what is efficient or cost-effective
it's just this way or that way because someone way above you said so
and their reasons are usually horseshit
There was no way they would adopt the PAW20, america doesn't like none american equipment
just look at the adoption of 7.62 and the M14
i mean we use plenty of non-american stuff
the M249 and M240 are both Belgian
by FN Herstal
The m249 is being fully replaced
the beretta m9 that we've been using since 1980 is italian
and the 240 they don't have a replacement for yet
yeah i'm just saying whether it's american isn't the main issue
military arms acquisitions have always been about nepotism
not literally nepotism
i mean like
But yes it is very very common for american decisions on military equipment to not make sense because they prefer "home grown"
which is why they adopted what is basically just a 20 round M1 garand in 7.62 in place of like
the Fal or EM-2
my point is it's all about people with power mingling with each other making huge decisions just so that they can have their group of friends get richer and more powerful
very much so
and damn the consequences 7 degrees of separation down the line
when some random grunt has to use a SIG p320 and he drops it and it shoots some guy in the head on its own
The P320 is actualy pgud
yeah i have one
it's just that it's dubious whether they've fixed those
extreme problems yet
From the movie "Pentagon Wars". Bradley Fighting Vehicle design and development. Any design engineer will love this scene.
ive seen some insane ruggedness tests with the thing
and yes gail
lmao
i love that vid
This video perfectly encapsulates how the military designs things
cary elwes is amazing
Or like the fact they made the F4 Phantom without an actual inline gun, so it originally just had missiles
but the missiles couldn't track well enough to shoot down migs reliably so it may as well have been unarmed
the entire subject of military acquisitions is extremely frustrating to me
when it comes to small arms at the very least, we in the US would be best off doing what we've been doing and just slightly modifying the AR-15 platform a thousand times and using the same old M9s since the 80s
but now the talk of replacing the M4 is getting louder than it's ever been
and the M9 is already getting replaced, that's confirmed
That's cause the m9 had massive reliability issues initially
it was already being replaced with the glock prior to p320 adoption
ye cause its hard to replace all the arms of the US army
which is why they are stuck with garbage like the bradley
yeah that's part of the problem
how do you replace 10000 IFVs that are useless if you don't know the next one wont be worse?
they're gonna finally give us these damn SIGs in a million years and then have to create a new training program for them
and then come to find out
after widespread use
that X Y and Z problem make it just not feasible
or something
but it's too late at that point
So far in field trials it's done fine
its hard to not perform better than the berretta did initially
i'm not familiar with the initial trials but i've never heard anything bad about them
the 92FS is a fantastic gun, its only real weak point is just how oversized it is
when compared to any modern 9mm it's a brick
additionally there is merit to the double-to-single-action system
striker-fired has its merits as well
i heavily prefer DA/SA but
striker-fired is fine for military use with the manual safety
it's also a lot easier for someone to learn how to shoot accurately with a SAO striker-fired handgun than a DA/SA handgun
the only reason i don't like the SIG being the new duty weapon in general is due to the fact that despite the EXTREME and potentially deadly malfunctions that happened both in military trials and police use, and despite the fact Beretta offered to straight-up trade all the old beaten-up M9s for M9A3s for free, they still decided to give SIG the contract, again, like i said, because of the good ol' boys club
the problems have seemingly all been fixed but it's as if they intended to use it regardless of how the trials went
with the M17/M18's manual safety and the changes made in the """voluntary upgrade""" it very well should be totally safe
sig even has a class-action suit in the works right now because of at least one of their guns being unsafe despite their insistence they're safe
used to have a link to it, don't now
it just absolutely reeks of meddling and favoritism
and corporate incompetence on the part of Ron Cohen
all this angry ranting aside, i do think that the P320 series are overall good handguns, i just wish mine were in .357 SIG instead of 9mm but i bought it used and i'm not really trying to keep it. if i can't sell it i'll probably convert it
palmetto state armory is selling 1080 rounds of korean surplus .30 Carbine ammo for 390 bucks
Anybody order something from gw recently and had a mental wait time till it was shipped?
Ok have an gobbo chef i onlx have a screenshot of cause my cat turned my pc off and i forgot to save it
But she cute tough so i cant be mad
damn
anyways have a scrap git
neat
tnx
Quick drawing.
Wait an ork player? Pics of army plz I live for that shizz
@lilac acorn you mean me?
@deft gorge yiss!
I could never find that image of the council of 13 that had a rat in the middle
Only a tattoo on a dude

I want it as a tat too
I'm working on an angry marines drawing but its gonna take me a long time to finish
In the meantime, servo skull
Also techpriest
Angry marines are the best chapter
he be rockin da table
ouh DAMN I was patiently waiting to see how this would look painted :)
Looks great!
Is the 2nd Pic your Armageddon army?
@wary adder Very nice. Keep it up!
Thanks! :D
Haha, nope, but I don't blame you for thinking so. 😉
Second picture gotta be at least 15000 points woah. First Pic is nice tho, 2000 points scary
The Imperial Janitors are ridiculous, absolutely brutal, one-man armies. I don't necessarily think all their units are worth the points but in the right hands the tiny model count army can stand toe-to-toe with anything.
So, yes.
Interesting
I was thinking they were probably intended to be big chunks for larger point limits
To me it seems inefficient to make your team 3 units when the enemy can have like 10
It's a tricky balance to be sure.
They're throwing out a lot of attacks and have term honors (2+ save I believe). They are a tricky army and I'm not sure how well they preform now that Imp soup is gone.
I only used them to support my Imp Knights army so there's a reasonable chance I don't get the eccentricities to running Janitors as a self-contained army.
pretty much
the custodes <i own the codex since relese and play them actively> are some of the more balanced Points to model ratio armies
most of their strength comes from tactics such as Unleash the Lions, where you can split 10 man squads into 10 squads of 1 man
my project came to an end
and now my grots have oversised meat balls with fangs and guns on their side
Just assembled my first ever mini.... wish me luck painting

Good luck, chief!
I have needs
needs for speed?
heresy
The Captain General of the Custodies is great at card games
New knight concept, Veteren Exitus.
Really nice... It look a bit like the description of an imperial army regiment
The G9K Division Kill
i sort of got the idea of combining a kriegsguard with a knight
Thats what I was gonna do when I take out an Engine today
Some sacred oils, holy incense, blessed batteries. Sanctified wrenches. The works
anyone any ideas how to make this lil guy more 40k-ish
Tech bits and wires, mostly.
idk he looks pretty fantasy to me
yea but i wanna use him for my grot rebellion army
so im searching for ways of making him look more like 40k
put a radar dish on his mushroom hat
i would but its his brain
heck
ye kinda sad
now thats a good idea

Smol boi
Fun fact I accidentally bought the whole gacha box of these things so I have all of the characters and many duplicates
😓
Lmaoo
God i would literally coom if we got to play as an AdMech unit
Same
AdMech: so where's the toaster
Imagine if there's an STC for a toaster
What's the little pitchfork on his back@sage dawn
a mechadenrite
i might be wrong
but
ad. mech. dudes typically have robot tentacles like doctor octopus
yeah i was wrong
Antenna?
that's super cute tbh
the detail i like the most on skitarii is the lil incense thing hanging off the bottom of their backpack
It begins
POV: you asked the local dealer for some Eldar bath water
Update: first models ever painted
I think I need to varnish it, the paint keeps rubbing off
Are you using citadel paints or some other brand? How thickly did you prime it? Because if that blue is your prime color, its on a bit too thick. Other than that, great model for a first timer!
I primed it with spray macragge blue
@swift arch im gonna say something really confusing
Not all gw spray is a primer, but all gw spray can work as a basecoat
Try keeping your can at a forearms length next to your chest.
From your elbow next to your side it has to sit just your forearms length with your model at straight angle to that can, then adjust to where the paint looks a bit wet whenever you spray it on
Sorry lol I used a spray Testor brand grey primer, with spray macragge blue basecoat I think it might’ve been too much
Next project!
1st model ever for me
this is the getting started 8th edition marine
it toke one whole year to come to my country (paraguay) from the US
now i just need the frikking paint and brush and also no fukd this up
no big deal if you mess it up, it happens to everyone. Gotta fuck up before you start getting it right
my first model was an atrocity
i really like the looks of the intercessor
Lord Omega
just primed this boi, what do you think about it?
a bit too chalky i know this is my first time
General question: How would you equip Intercessors for an Ultramarine army? Bolt Rifle, Auto Bolt Rifle, Or Stalker Bolt Rifle?
I paint minis live at ttv/akalonian.
I try to teach while I paint, help new people out. 🙂
@misty pollen I think you're priming too thickly. Don't think of primer as a first coat of paint, think of it as the canvas that an artist would apply paint to.
The model will most likely still look fine, but you might see some paint clumping issues, and struggle to define the smaller details.
General question: How would you equip Intercessors for an Ultramarine army? Bolt Rifle, Auto Bolt Rifle, Or Stalker Bolt Rifle?
@swift arch Depends what you want. In general though, bolt rifles are going to be your best everyman.
Well I didn't even prime my first mini, so you're off to a good start
@dusk osprey don’t ultramarines get a bonus to rapid fire or something? I haven’t started army building/have the SM new codex but don’t want to build my Intercessors and. OT have them be good
Idk off the top of my head. Sounds right, though.
Pretty much no matter what you give them they will be good, though
The auto rifle gets you an extra shot and more mobility, and the stalker rifle gets you some serious anti armor, and the bolt rifle is a comfortable mix of the two
Sweet! Good to know that all of them are good in one way or another
what do think about it
Are you thinning your paints?
I can't tell if it's just because of the primer, but your paint is definitely a little thick. Fantastic for a first model, though.
My first model is a goddamn atrocity
thanks, not thinning really much i think i need a lot of practice
have no idea how to continue with the helmet
and not fucked it up
On my models I use a very fine detail brush with a very small amount of red for the eyes, but honestly you don't have to do the eyes at all. I'd recommend using some shade to give the model some depth, unless you're keen on keeping the marine looking like his armor just came out of the forge world.
Agrax earthshade or Nuln oil should be your go to washes
In this video Duncan goes into detail about how to thin your paint and the reason for doing so.
how can i do the shading with the colors i have now
-Violete
-black
-White
-Gold
and a plastic palette
awesome video thanks!
You don't. You shade models with an ink-based solution, not a paint. You could do some edge highlighting, but it's kinda advanced for a beginner and honestly white highlights are really hard to do.
There's 4 common types of shade: Strong tone, medium tone, Agrax earthshade and Nuln oil. A pot of any should be less than 5$
You can pick them up from most hobby stores, and the latter two should be in any GW. Alternatively, you can order them online for a meager shipping cost
You can pick them up from most hobby stores, and the latter two should be in any GW. Alternatively, you can order them online for a meager shipping cost
@dusk osprey
thats the thing actually, i live in the third world, there is no "hobby stores" here 😦
the mini i got its from the magazine i bought like 7 months ago
Ah, that's quite the pickle. Regardless, if you can have things mailed in, you should be able to get them that way.
yeah, SUCKS to live here
i live in Paraguay, a third world country in southamerica
I'm familiar. Yeah, not an ideal location for an FLGS I don't think.
where you from?
Canada. It's pretty swell, other than the cold
Plenty of hobby stores near me, most of them know me by name lol
Canada is awesome for i heard
Plenty of hobby stores near me, most of them know me by name lol
@dusk osprey
thats the dream for me
sometimes i dream to be borned in another place
in another time
then i woke up in this nightmare shithole
Motorized remote controlled Land Raider that I built from using Games Workshop's model. Designed all the electrical schematic and software myself. A lot of w...
Murdoch sketch.
@misty pollen technically yes you can
You need a magnetic field under the table, directional weights and an electro magnet in the tank
Someones done it with an eldar vehicle before
that's pretty neat
whos murdoch
@warm dust oc of mine
good drawing
Someones done it with an eldar vehicle before
@hoary ermine
thats awsome
Yee
Foking GW doesnt sell their foking products on southamerica
i want to buy them i cannot
what do you think about this
look at this guy
before its get banned
dayum, it's so nice
GW (((lawyers)) still gonna get him
all his older work got banned too
i manage to save these 3 files
and some bolters rifles one
and this one bc its funny
Spess Mareen
That's squat astartes
One of the kill animations has to be a * BLAM *
Me making a tape-based "phone holder" so I can film a miniature getting a coat of primer.
I'm trying to make a tutorial-like video to encourage people to not be afraid of getting into miniature painting.
It's going to be as goofy as my phone holder, but hey! 😄
still waiting for kholek mini
thought the 1st is some primarch or yet another custodes
With that hair and body, its definitely a custodes. Just needs more oil
SFW ONLY (as per the global server rules). Share your hobbies and interests! Well, i like killing rats and chaos worshipers :v
I also like toasters
You had me until toasters
gotta simp for them, because the machine is inmortal :V
it do, how do you think machines work? because reasons? no... Because the omnissiah makes them work
Idk chief sounds kinda stupid
also, how do you think ork stuff works? BOOM omnissiah
they say its WAAHG but its just omnissiah
Aren't orks psykers
idk
All orks are psykers
but they have a small presence of it in each one so not all of them can just shoot lighting out of their fingers
Its how the WAAAGH mentality among them works to begin with
Orks arent really communist though lol
Im not sure uniting to beat the shit out of people counts.
i mean, i know how they want to accend and stuff, but the WAAAHG is from all for all
Yeah its the same reason why i dont people calling Tau communists
When their system isnt even close to it
And is literally based on the "caste" system from real eastern countries to begin with
lol, (im just memeing btw) but yea, saw the emperor text to speech, he describe it as communist, but its just a normal dictatorship
also cowards, not engaging in glorious melee combat

not sure if this is a meme too but the eldar do that to everyone lol
Tau trusting the DARK ELDAR though is another deal
bruh
Tau tried to talk with orks... Tau tried to talk with the Death Guard...
I should update myself about tau's lore. Did they try to contact necrons ?
Because now, seeing them try to tell billions years old phareos that ensalved their own star gods to join them in a cast system would be downright hilarious
Probably yes... It seems that they meet them already
Worth noting that new necron lore has them having already destroyed their star gods, they rule themselves now
Tau in general will always try to diplomatically approach a new race before trying to fight them, but new lore does have them as less naive about it afaik. Orks have long since been considered DO NOT TRY TO DIPLOMATICALLY APPROACH and idk if they ever tried that with death guard
you can be fairly diplomatic with blood axes
You also gotta remember that the necrons always win 👀
yes
now now now, i can say that necrons don't always win, they just never get board wiped
the only time they will lose is by forfeit and never by straight up being tabled
i have won against them with tau once
i don't know how, i don't know why, but my 80 kroot carnivores were on some sort of performance enhancing drugs
despite being brought in to be meatshields, they wound up taking out a lot of necron shit on their own without much help from the other tau
1 - 2 canoptek wraiths (can't remember if one or two), 3 canoptek spiders, an annihilation barge, a destroyer lord, and they put a triarch stalker down to one wound
don't fuck with the kroot
wE wEiLl CoNSuME tHEWir BoDieS
i also found out about the wild shit the kroot have in their old chapter approved stuff
sucks that it seems GW is moving toward murdering the kroot off entirely
||Or feed the kroot the "what you want to fuck". Then they will be look like them. Bamn, a fuckable kroot. Now go, enjoy your kroot||
I heard that necrons were really strong at range, not as much as tau, but necrons were harder to kill, so something focuse don melee would kill the necrons... It may also why it seems that SM in the lore always try to go in melee with necrons... Not that it say much, pretty much every SM want to go melee after all
necrons are really strong period
high range/high volume of fire has been really good for me, basically the more ranged dakka you can get with good hit chances, the better
but with that bullshit quantum shielding ability you probably don't want high damage output, chip damage seems a lot more effective if you can get in more than one wound in your turn
this one triarch stalker refused to die because i would deal more than 1 damage and it would roll low enough to ignore between 60 and 95 shots per turn
Get fucked lmao
yeah, my kroot carnivores still chipped it to 1w and then the necron player forfeit because of how much i had already destroyed with kroots
this with 9e necron rules or?
i have two named kroot carnivores after that battle, along with 17 other survivors
whats sm
space marines
ah righto, and jeez
Boof
heavy intercessors are like
good morning fellow nerds, whats popping?
5 toughness, 3 wounds, 36 inch range
i'm still new to 40k, but from what i know the space marines have been busted in the past
kinda to be expected when they get so, so many of the new releases and rules
all the new releases are more SM stuff
only thing i have issue with is that the kroot have been so neutered over time
nobody else is getting new rules till next year lmao
necrons getting a buff seems ridiculous
they already have some crazy ass abilities that can sometimes straight up give godmode
I mean theres a reason every faction is seperated into "Xenos" and "Armies of the Imperium"
then above them is the SPACE MARINES section lol
IG players on life support
kroot mercenary codex being left behind in 3e makes me very sad
and with the newest dark eldar codex they seem to want to get rid of kroot altogether
DE dont use kroot
Yeah they dont
they use other creatures like ur-ghuls
aka pretty much mindless beasts they can whip into firefights
no, they don't use kroot
i mean in the newest de codex it literally says they genocided the kroot homeworld and arranged their bodies to say "welcome to the feast" as a message to the tau, and they continue to do this across all kroot worlds
Oh yeah dude dark eldar love fucking with kroot
especially the haemonculi who want to know their neat cannibalism powers
makes me sad that the kroot are just being buried slowly
so is everyone tbh
I kind of wish the suits at GW admit they dont care about anyone but Marines
its very sad
Bobby G does not approve of foul Tau Xenos
I am kroot
no hold on
Haha I get it
not against the tau, i was the tau, against the necrons
dw fence we all feel it
i have literal named kroot carnivores after my battle against the necrons, those motherfuckers made sacrifices and were the bulk reason we won
IG are missing even standard inf equipment
you cant buy melta or plasma in store, have to order online and it only comes in metal
oof, that seems pretty fucked
Fellas does anyone have that pic of the body types of emperor and primarch and custodes and all that, I think it's interesting how the custodes are
cant get heavy meltas, flamers or plasma cannons for IG either
but nowadays kroot are missing two separate sects of kroot, and all of their usable weapons, plasma gun, meltagun, bolt pistol, splinter pistol, shoota, slugga, literally only weapon kroot have is their rifle now
@deep saddle Yeah i do, will put it in the lore section
kroot mercs get paid in weaponry, so it seems silly to me that they can't even get a pulse rifle when working alongside tau or not have access to other weaponry
welcome to the kroot, weird bird creatures who don't urinate or defecate, reproduce through backrubs and evolve like a slow version of tyranids
but refuse to eat tyranid bodies for fear of being a part of the hive mind
Yup, they are used to sniff out genestealers infected people
yeah, the receptors for i guess seminal fluid is on the backs of females, while it's produced through special pores on the palms of males
But only after they get to eat some geestealer IIRC
hey at least it ain't actually sexy to us lmao
Can I unread this please?
They are really angry chickens, or birds if you want to meme, what did you expect?
OH NO WE'VE BEEN BUSTED
kroot time
@river turtle thought you'd like that kinda thing
The arbites are here, hide yourself!
They were badass in a couple of the Caiphas Cain novels
they also wound up walking upright and understanding machines by eating orks that crash landed on their home planet
Working with OUR GLORIOUS HERO OF THE IMPERIUM
i love the fact people are upset the book art doesnt reflect the contents
when thats the entire point
weird propoganda pieces that arent right
i do have to say, kroot would not eat genestealer, they can taste the taint in other bodies and will refuse to eat it, they outright never want to eat anything tyranid because they fear that they'll be absorbed into the hive mind
^
And they won’t eat other Tau
if they eat a part of an infected person they taste the taint and spit it out
I dunno dude my dark crusade campaign says otherwise
they won't eat tau out of respect to them because they know they don't like that sort of thing, and they were saved by them so they want to respect that
well that would make sense but uhh
1w
unless eating corpses gave them an extra wound
jokes aside yeah what you guys said is true im just making a meme lol
would be wild
Yeah, kroot made an agreement to not eat tau
CAIPHAS CAIN USING A BOLT PISTOL, HERESY
Orks on the other hand are quite liked...
Yeah tastes like mushrooms
just noticed that lark? lmao
Mmmmm mushrooms
i still want to know what a kroot blank would look like, they're technically the only other species to be capable of having blanks
or, i guess tyranids too
ah, well, then it is just up to the kroot then
Blanks can distrupt the synapse
since they do have free will and can evolve it from eating a blank
Even so
there's no history of it
if a nid got a blank status he'd get insta eaten by their brethren
It is an interesting theory
because they would be "un-tyranid'y"
on a side note with regards to that
but there's nothing saying that the kroot can't eat a blank and gain their powers
@plush swift can kroot be psykers if they eat a psyker?
Pretty much like how orks kills genestealer infected orks?
How come no one in the imperium is trying to make more and more blanks to combat Chaos?
which is much more hilarious
probably actually @hasty sorrel
@swift arch because someone did try
don't think they would have much ability to control it themselves, but it doesn't seem impossible
How come no one in the imperium is trying to make more and more blanks to combat Chaos?
Because Big E proihbited experimentation on the blank gene after several failures
A genetic one, so couldn’t you make more and more?
@river turtle can I unread the message from you where skippergate was "fixed" but it wasn't really fixed for another year and a half
the kroot could actually be a race as varied as the imperium just based on their ability to evolve through nom
they may have tried to use a necron artifact to do it because the blank gene is a necron bio weapon
it didnt go well
I miss Pariahs
It was retconnected, it isn't a necron biological weapon anymore
It is, but no one know how it happened or how to replicate it
It actually is the next step on the evolution of humanity
the thing is
nobody knows how to handle it
and Big E isnt around anymore
And Big E keep the experimentation to himself
i know how to replicate it, just not in humans lol
so that dream went down the crapper
i know how to replicate it, just not in humans lol
Grey knights can become blanks
RIP my plan of blank wall around humanity
RIP my plan of blank wall around humanity
And that is where you are wrong, i already made some interesting theories on how that would happen
i say again, kroot can technically become blanks
on a side note
recent IG notice from GW seems to point at blanks being more common?
that or it was a dumb joke bit
as with most IG posts
Yeah that might be it
Most of the time the regimental standard is a joke, but with a tiny bit of info for future releases
I never knew that huh
During the psychic awakening there was quite a good ortion that talked about blanks, like an eldar, an SoB and some stuff
we never actualy get good IG lore directly from GW
Oh yeah like people saying the Guard are just fodder
Or just bayonet charge everything
hang on ill get the blank one
You mean this one? It is always near me, for hope
The truth is that with all that warp stuff going around a lot of peole found out they were psykers, but a lot of peole found out that they are kinda resistant, and it make sense since being a blank is the best protection from chaos
The Krieg + dog pic 😭
Yeah the only downside is people dont like you
Which is okay, who needs friends anyway
People with a soul don't like you... But what if we are all blanks??
jurgen best boi
Exactly my... Banshee?
:3
Caiphas can beat anyone in 1 on 1+Jurgen combat
When in doubt melta those fuckers
And on top of that do you know what happen to people in the necron nexus? They kinda die, but that affect people with soul... Being a blank would make you immune to that too
Yeah the nexus stuff was a bit weird
like AGAİN retconning faith powers
and making them something else for no reason
I could go on and explain how and why being a blank race is the best outcome for humankind, but big e want humans to be psykers... Just another of his errors
Honestly
I get why
lightning is cool

But being a race of blanks sounds WAY more OP
But being a race of blanks sounds WAY more OP
Necrons are kinda like that, the problems is that they didn't fight the warp with their mere presence, they needed tools and created the blackstone
@green cave null spheres are cool
Considering they had lost their souls id say yes they did
A blank that kills lucius may be the only way to kill him definitely
Nope remember
isnt it a extremly rare mutation? like EXTREME rare and ur lucky if u find 1-2 individuals/ planet
Lucius cant die because bullshit plot
and the writer can just go "slaanesh wanted him back!"
pmuch dante
and ye dilara thats why i like
dont touch any major SM or chaos lore
that right there
Yeaaah you and everyone else who hates the guy trust me
also yeah blanks dont grow on trees
its one of the reasons why they are held above psykers in terms of importance
if you are a blank the inquisition are going to kidnapp you in your sleep
isnt it a extremly rare mutation? like EXTREME rare and ur lucky if u find 1-2 individuals/ planet
Normally yes, but the history of the sisters of silence say otherwise... If you believe some of those stories anyway
and either pull you apart to figure out why
or use you as an anti psyker/demon weapon
Which is the best role tbh
especially if you get to be a golden lady
ultimate baes
i wont lie
Janetia Krole, what a badass
my heart lies with celestine and the gemini
sigh
But to be fai all sisters of silence are badass

Imagine being a simple woman but every one in the imperium fear and is in awe of you

I mean, sister of silence are the only other force that can freely walk the imperial palace, the other force is the custodes
Imagine also to being a simple woman" in that being no genetic improved or similar stuff, and being one of the closest advisor of big E
Its one of the reasons why i hate the stupid plot point of
"Oh yeah the sisters just disbanded idk"
It was explained that the imperium distrusted them, and they simply said "fuck off everyone"... Still they keep doing their job on the black ships and fight other threats... Until the time where guillman returned and said, where the hell are the sisters? And who the hell was so dumb to send them away?
EXACTLY
it like...
comes off as the writers actually forgetting they existed?
then being like "ah fuck it bring them back"
But since we all kow what happened when a lot of blanks were gathered on terra we may understand why the imperium want them to GTFO
then being like "ah fuck it bring them back"
They were also used during the war of the beast, although those sisters really hated the imperium for what it had become
lol
hard and hardened boob plates

Heyo!
I tried slapping together some material to make a 2-part tutorial for people interested in painting miniatures like(but not limited to) the GamesWorkshop miniatures.
There are usually 3 reasons why people that are interested back away from this hobby:
1) It becomes expensive.
- True, but you don't need to buy everything all at once.
2) Don't know where to start or what to do. - My guide covers a little bit of that, but I am always willing to help guide people that are interested.
3) Actually worried that you will mess up the paint job. - In my guide, I intentionally mess up everything multiple times over and then prove how easy it gets fixed.
If you were ever interested in miniature painting but a bit too worried about not being good enough, then maybe this will help.
I don't care about views, likes, or clicking some stupid bell to get notifications. All I care about is helping people that are interested take that first step. :)

- Don't start with expensive miniatures.
- Get all the right tools.
Cutter, hobby knife, and file. - Use plastic glue, not super glue.
- Shake the primer very well.

you guys heard about warchief?
Will be interesting for sure to see what unfolds with that
thx
Can anyone recommend a good varnish that won’t ruin the detail on my miniatures?
i think GW do their own?
Have seen v good results from the army painter varnish we have
They’ve got a brush on and spray version. I’ve just gotten into the hobby and I’ve read horror stories about varnishing, so I’m soliciting all advice
My Intercessors aren’t finished yet, just Base painted. Same with the Dread
I use uhh
Testors dullcote
It's really matte and I've never had any fuckups with it
Tho I can only find it in these dumb tiny cans
Yeah I was wondering too is anyone tried the Munitorum spray varnish from citadel. I wonder if it’s harder to do
Is the spraying easy to do? I usually base spray my models so I’m just hoping I don’t put it on too thick
Oh we talking about base coat? Mb
No I’m talking bout varnish. I’m used to spraying but I’m scared to spraying the varnish on too thick
Wonder it’ll it easier to paint it on
I wouldn't paint it on, you won't get anything near as clean a coverage
You can play it safe by making fast spraying passes
Just make sure you start the spray off to the side before sweeping over the model so you don't blast the shit out of it
I already dinged up my Marneus so I want to seal them
You want to start spraying and then sweep back and forth fully going past the model on each direction so the spray doesn't linger on it
Take it slow and err on the side of using less if you're worried
As long as the mini is clean you can always add a little more later on
Don't do it in a dusty or windy environment or somewhere you just vacuumed
And you don't want it to be too humid or too cold either because that will affect it
That can make it come out looking milky or speckly
I'd recommend shooting a price of cardboard as a test and letting it dry for 15 minutes so you can inspect how it comes out
Also, I know it's not warhammer but I thought I'd share the last thing I painted:
Pretty happy with how he came out, tho I regret using all the white on him because it makes the glowy parts stand out less
Nice work!!!
I love the base, I want to try that on my models once I get them painted
Yeah, I need to add grass to that one
Also thanks haha
It's pretty easy, just some white glue and some medium and fine grit basing grit plus a few tiny chunks of cork for the larger rocks
Much easier to do before attaching the model to the base
Damn dude, that's a kickass model
Thanks man
It's from warmachine, the minis aren't as high quality as gw faire but they're pretty neat
They've got a steampunk aesthetic which I dig (also explains why I have a bunch of kharadron overlords that need painting next)
CYBER PIGEON!!!

What country Ur from?
I see you have chosen a nice chapter tho
I used to paint those marines and even made the candles out of miliput
Sons of the Phoenix yes?
Yep

and i thought my country was the most pussy country of all latin america
Wait, is Warhammer is illegal in some countries?
i would expect that in China or Thailand, but not Paraguay
ur country is trying to protect you from the dreaded plastic crack @misty pollen
@elfin yew what factions do you play ?
Right now I only play AoS with Legion of Nagash. Waiting on new Xeno codexs to get into Tau for 40k
as per the name <<
fduhnfun
Although I'm considering Necron too. Not sure how much I'm into the only-shoot-phase stuff
Necrons would be a good choice
Yess I heard their new stuff is great
They already got their own codex and they are balanced af
I also considered getting IG and just playing them as Gue'Vesa, one of my favorite fluff pieces
My only experience with AOS is Underworlds
Where i play Magores Fiends
And the Gobbos
Yess
40k I play iG and I have an eldar kill team
I'm building my LoN army right now but thinking about building Maggotkin of nurgle too
Really love their uhh
cycle of corruption mechanic
I think It's called in AoS
I cannot say for AoS sadly
