Many years ago I read about a very fleshed out Dornian Heresy. Basically all traitors were loyalists and vice versa.
Roboute stayed out of everything voluntarily and made his own imperium. Funnily enough the art made for the M41 ultramarines looked quite similar to primaris marines, as Roboute had a quite good relationship with the tau and traded technology.

I recall there was a third party thing written for the first edition of WH40k that introduced the idea of female SM. Not officially GW, of course, but it was back when they were a smaller and much better company. The sort that appreciated free publicity, instead of sending a army of lawyers to siege your home.

Do kinda of like first edition to be honest. It's rules were bizarre, but it's lore felt more open.

Especially considering the first edition of WH40k was compatible with that time's edition of WHF and that GW encouraged you to mix the two together for fun.

Back when I played, black rage would make people from squad be transfered to the death squad, and the red thrist would make you sometime charge forward no matter you're unit and what you were trying to do, (which was a bit frustrating on like devastators) but your blood angels had +1 strength in melee when they were charging because of that too

So their thirst for blood would litteraly make them fight harder

hence

they'll probably fight less hard against necron since no blood

My mom is a dentist, and at a young age I was helping her around her practice that she owns. Whenever I would work there, I was helping patients out by sculpting their dentures/taking impressions; even making mouth guards for em! So I love sculpting!!!

I like to go with relatively neutral colours so it doesn't stand out too much on the various game mats. Personally, I use grey gravel, but it shouldn't matter too much as long as you aren't doing a snow scheme or, say, vibrant green.

Khorne used to be more picky before they flanderized him. It used to be that he would only be pleased if you killed someone that was worthy of a fight or a coward (Khorne hates cowards). You'd piss him off I you tried getting his favor by killing little school children, for example.

It's possible khorne of 40k is fine with psyker, with edition he has distanced himself more and more from the fantasy version. In fantasy, he just hate magic. Khorne major demons are so resistant to magic you can consider it almost an immunity

There ya go. Print as many as you like, no supports needed. Each one holds 6 pots and they spin nicely without any sanding

would recommend some extra walls as all the weight is on those center pegs, so thickening it wouldn't be a bad idea.

I printed mine with 10% gyroid infill, but infill shouldn't matter too much. The centre peg has a small small hole in it so it should print the top layers nicely even with 0 infill. You can also stick a wire/thin rod through it for extra sturdiness

I have 3 of them stacked right now, I would think that at 5 stacks it would get a little too wobbly, so I recommend 4 at most. Also considering making a paint brush holder topper to also store your brushes... but I store mine horizontally so idk

I did a full edge highlight along each panel line with an eshin grey over the black, so I don't know if it shows on camera that well

But yeah, I agree that black armour is hard to make pop. You lose the definition of the details... I may try priming with a white and using black contrast paint for more shades, then a stark drybrush over that. Gonna have to buy more models tho ;)

I can't speak as to chaos in particular but you can usually stock up on units compatible for both a KT list and a future 40k list for a while. I'm playing admech killteam rn and the vast majority of the units i'm getting rn are gonna be useful for my future mostly planned out 1k point 40k list

Definitely make sure to plan out a list though, at least vaguely. Battlescribe is v useful for that, can also search good lists for your particular army online

That's chill, I don't understand them fully either, my only understanding is they're groupings of particular types of units (HQ, heavy support, fast attack etc) you put together to give yourself more command points. Basically just a way for the rules to incentivize balanced army lists by rewarding them with command points whereas unbalanced army lists that dont adhere to detachments won't have nearly so many

you can probs find a copy of the main rulebook online somewhere or you could just buy it, my understanding is 9th is pretty much just 8th with some small incremental changes and not a total overhaul so that shouldn't be much of an issue

But so long as you're adhering to a decent balanced list when you're purchasing your models you should be fine. You can start editing it and changing your list to be more optimal once you've collected it and have some experience playing with it

Could you elaborate on that? Because minimalism could either be in technique or paint scheme.

A minimalist paint scheme could use just a handful of colours, but has effective contrast and variation.
A minimalist technique could use just a handful of methods that could give the model lots of depth.

You could also argue a "minimalist" model is just a basecoat and nothing else.

if youre getting too much thickness, I don't think you're thinning your paint enough. You shouldn't be really getting any texture from your paints. Try adding more water to your paint and do multiple thin coats, and maybe pick up a wet palette.

You should be able to get like upwards of 5-10 coats on a model with minimal texture if youre thinning properly

Some paints are notorious for being chunky, just requires more patience

yeah remember that it's better to have your paint be too thin than too thick. To thin just means you might need a layer or two more to get a consistent shade, too thick will permanently mess it up

you shouldn't be able to see the texture imprinted by your brush in the thinned paint, if you can then it's not thinned enough

Eh... I have pictures of my models that I am not proud of showing because they are from the time when I tried to apply a lot of colors. + Thinning does not work. It gets so thin than it only colors the crevices that the models have.

what paint/colours are you using?

If the colour is only geting into the crevices, you've thinned it down too much, into a wash consistency. You just need to put down a brush full of paint onto your palette, then dip the tip of your brush into the water. then hse the brush to pull the paint you put down bit by bit.

clean off your brush, then load it with that freshly thinned paint

tons of videos on youtube will show you how to properly thin your paint, its easier to see it than to read about it

I went for stag, because of the 6.5 creedmoor, at the time here in canada most AR platforms are scary so they're banned. I use it for hunting. Only other option was black creek and they have a massive feed/ ejection issue they won't address.

Some GameColor Bonewhite, after a few layers a nice coat of Agrax Earthshade and once that is dry, one drybrush of Bonewhite again :)
