both are reasonable if you first pour a bit of room temp water to dissolve the instant, then mix in hot water.

for an instant alternative to coffee itself:

• Leroux Instant Chickory [2], mixed with carob powder, a little Ceylon cinnamon, and a bit of hot chocolate powder.

this is good at night, if you want a slightly roasty drink with less caffeine.

I don't think there's much of a draw down speed difference between the neo and standard v60 from my experience. All my brews are usually within 2:00 - 2:30 with a 5.5 to 6 setting on the ZP6 with 12g dose, 220g water. Brews taste pretty similar as well, but I haven't bothered doing a side by side comparison

Seeing a lot of the after careful consideration messages my blood started to boil. I am not a small business owner so I get that I have no skin in the game of losses and sacrifices of a full lost day of work, of paying employees during that time, no revenue and stupid people’s review bombs.
But making a donation of profit from the day ain’t it, there are protests that will happen as they always do, every other day you can find a different group in DTLA protesting in front of the detention center. There are people in the streets that that can use help and support and we people dont need to be in third spaces tomorrow. They need to be motivated not comforted and placated. @cedar otter I’m glad that you’re supporting the movement that your standing strong in the face of it all and it makes me wanna support shops that are shutting down more than those that stay open.

I can see the very divisive line between the shops that are staying open and those closing and I hate that my some of faves are staying open. Actions should be loud they should be heard they should be felt in your fucking bones.

Yeah, usually needs pretty early rotation. There’s some with rotating stones but most of them are lackluster tbh.

Supposedly the pizzaolio from Breville works pretty well without rotating though

But I haven’t tried it. My koda 2 is pretty even with the updated burner but even it requires two or three rotations.

Yeah these things cook fast. I’m considering one of the propane models though. It takes 30-45mins of constant pellet feeding to get the oven up to temp, and continued feeding while cooking, so it’s expensive in that regard. The flavor the pellets contribute is really tasty though

But with Kinu POB I can do 1:3 or 1:4

so you can TURBO something to like 1:2.5 but a soup would be 1:3.5+ ratio for me

and soup would also flow faster

all my turbos are shorter than 17 seconds but not all of them are soup

Echoing what’s been said. I don’t do that many turbo shots anymore, I mostly do soup style shots with light and ultralight roasts. For me, usually 1:4-5 ratio is the sweet spots, generally between 18-25 sec. However, with coffees from Hydrangea, for example, I’ve had incredible results with a 1 barr, 30 sec shot at 1:3 ratio.

That’s why I like soup shots - they are so forgiving, and you can really get great tasting shots with a range. A lot of it comes down to your flavor preference at that point.
