I can bring it to the meetup again and you can tell me what you think. Not in a rush because it's kinda fun having big cones and big flats. It seems slightly less blendy than the 01s Mizens with more acidity in the presentation (I'm also pretty mid at tasting espresso so take this with a grain of salt).

I like the Mizen's better but I also only paid $900 for it and it has all the gadget upgrades (blind shaker, slow feeder, etc.). I put mostly SEY though it and didn't have complaints considering the other option was a new Niche.

The grinder might also lack the torque required.
The design is interesting, with such a long floating shaft that's not secured. Also it tightens the same way the burrs spin, with no way to run it backwards, so unseizing it could be tricky. It feels like they lazily slapped a motor onto the HG-2

It definitely lacks the torque required for light roast at the lower RPMs. SEY light african coffee will stall it in the bottom ~half of the RPM range.

For retail price, it's insanely overpriced and I wouldn't trust weber to be helpful if there's an issue based on how they handled all that drama. For 60% off retail, it's a pretty great grinder 😛

More power for light roasts and better performance with stock burrs. If you have a preference for ssp hus or something like that the 064s is probably fine. Something like Dak is light enough that I’d personally opt for the better motor though
