Went to Hiro Nori in Long Beach and their tonkotsu was very rich, surprisingly clean taste, greens selection was also pairing nicely, noodles chewy. Overall, I liked it but Moto Ramen in Culver City is still on top for me 🙂

I'm skeptical on the wireless stuff. It's very dependent on what is between the box in your house and the tower. I've seen some people report decent numbers, up to as good as what I get with cable. But some numbers are bad.
Also they had a rep come around our complex. On my porch he asked me to do a speed test from my phone.. That's like the worst spot in our house for wifi the test would show nothing.

If I was rich though, I'd 100% get a plan like that and set it up as a dual WAN. So that our Internet could failover

was relatively calm here, although it does seem the AQI is (as predicted) getting worse (and is probably blowing around more toxic ash).

in Pasadena, the mountains protected us at lower elevations, so there were some minor gusts.. but nothing large.

I do think that generally during red flag warnings, we're supposed to stay off the streets so emergency vehicles can make their way easier.

(also in one of the reports, they warned the ash may be slightly abrasive, so N95/P100 and goggles may be worthwhile if closer to it.. but if we can stay indoors, we're doing so.)

Generally we see bigger air quality hits out here from fires in wrightwood et. I was surprised the air quality hasn’t been bad in Rancho this time around given the relative proximity. I’d guess it to be the direction of the wind. Regardless, happy you folks are ok at least. And hopefully things get a little more controlled soon.

yeah, my sis was worried for us here. she moved to NY 2 years after 9/11, and she swears even 2 years later, the remnants there worsened her allergies, gave her a bit of asthma, etc.
