Hi All! I recently upgraded the stock df64 v2 burr to SSP HU, but now it won't able to grind if I put even 3 grams of beans (with RDT) at once at around 16. The grinder stall very easily which I never experience with stock burr. I tried to remove declumper but that does not work. Also wonder if burr alignment is related to this as I have a hard time finding the right alignment and the burr starts touching each other at 10.

HUs are very thick burrs so you’ll need to grind coarser probably

If chirp is at 10, and you’re grinding at 16, that’s a ≈70μm gap. Go to 23ish and try again

Thank you! I tried with 23, still stall but it works at 25. But the grounds are too coarse I am not able to achieve even 2 bars. So I think I need to find a way to grind finer without stalling. Any idea I can achieve that?

Are you sure you have the burrs the right way around?

I put the burr marked with top as the stationary burr, and bottom as rotatory burr. Is it the right order?

Apart from that, I am not sure the burr alignment is right. I bought a food grade marker thinking it is safer but cant really wipe well when testing. I am waiting for dry erase marker delivery in coming days, hope it can get a better result.

The ssp burr is labeled <EP, Red>. I guess it is a new version of HU as I was ordering HU. EP should stand for Espresso Purpose and look very similar to HU. Not sure if related!

Look like HUs to me. I’m 90% sure top is stationary yes

Does it stall only when starting up or does it stall in the middle of grinding?

Is your exit Shute clogged or meticulously cleaned?
