Hey! I have an issue with my Ek-43. It seems to me that after every cleaning the grinder is aligned in a different way. Even the chirping sound is different each time. Any ideas what might be the issue?

From my observations it's not only after the cleaning, but also when it's in use for a few days. It's a cafe setting and the grinder probably grinds up to 1kg of beans during busy days. I do a cleaning once a week. Maybe that's not enough?

It looks like nobody has responded even though this thread has been open for a while. Maybe one of our <@&1020401507121774722> could help?

Check the tension on the set screw for the dial. That’s what actually determines your zero setting and is totally separate from opening the grinder up. This can come loose and drift. Careful tightening it. You can crack the plastic and then it won’t be able to tighten. You’d have to buy a new piece.

Do you open it up when cleaning? Know that there’s two ways the carrier can go on the shaft. If you don’t put it back the same way your alignment changes

Yeah, mark it with a sharpie while they’re together

Thanks! I'd never think it's not symmetrical.
