Basic Summary: Five gods related by ichor came across a planet that was showing signs of sapient life. To help the resident humans achieve greatness, these gods constructed four beings that would each help in their own way. This is where shit goes VERY wrong. These all-powerful creatures would begin trying to kill each other over how to make humanity great. The fighting got so bad that the gods needed to seal all of them away in a different dimension before they destroyed everything. The gods would build portals deep underground to lure the Titans into their eternal prison within the Otherside. Early humans would soon discover these portals and get curious, prompting the gods to create Sculk to kill them so they wouldn't risk letting the Titans back out. The gods would then take all of the world's magic with them and place it into another realm they called the Overworld, as they felt that the quarrel between the Titans had traumatized humanity out of engaging with anything supernatural for the rest of its existence.
Now that the Overworld had plenty of magic to go around, the gods began sculpting the realm into something resembling the various ecosystems and geography of humanity's home world. There were many small differences, as the dominant species would become humanoids with enlarged noses, tall craniums, and very little hair. New portals to the Otherside were constructed deep underground just in case the Titans began to fight, as their on-and-off battle would shake the fabric of reality itself and risk the creation of tears that could allow the Titans through.
Despite its multiple violations of conventional astrophysics, the Overworld allowed its diverse array of species to thrive. The humanoids would spread out and inherit the land and build what it pleased upon the soil.

Then, the gods each built their own realm to widen that gap between the Overworld and Otherside. Five dimensions were born from this decision, each with varying amounts of effort put into them. Their names were the Nether, Undegarden, Everbright, Everdawn and End. The last one was placed above the Overworld instead of below due to its creator's fascination with outer space. The realms were then linked by portals constructed by Overworldians
After humans figured out how to open portals to the Overworld, they would become chutes through which their undesirables would be dropped to fend for themselves. These exiled humans would start their own settlements and explore the land in the name of discovery. However, many exiles would be killed by the various horrors that lurked in the dark. Many Overworldian natives were startled by the a new race appearing out of nowhere, but were more-or-less willing to leave them be if they behaved themselves.
The thing was, the exiles could not behave themselves. They would raid and plunder many Overworldian villages for their resources. By the time their conquest had slowed down, the Overworldians had lost most of what they had just a few short centuries ago. This embittered them to the point where their descendants would dedicate their entire existence to pushing the exiles out of their former territory. They would undertake centuries of research into the arts of magic, conjuration, and necromancy. The master of these summoning arts would start a dynasty of Invokers that led the Overworldian-descended Thrytians to reclaim some of the land their ancestors had lost. The less magically-inclined amongst them would take to brandishing crossbows and axes, murdering wandering exiles and building their own outposts to watch for potential enemies. Even after mastering the dark arts, the Thrytians decided to wait for what they saw as the right time to attack every exile settlement at once.

The Primal Titans began to fight again, causing thousands of tears in the dimensional fabric to consume unaware lifeforms from every dimension. These rifts would either hold what they caught in a limbo between realms where a year's worth of decay would happen in an hour, or let them loose into a different dimension where they could disrupt the local ecosystems. The Thrytians figured out how to harness these gateways against the exiles, but the results of their labor proved very underwhelming. Still, the Thrytians continued to show exiles the same cruelty that their ancestors showed to theirs.
After the extra Realms of Exile were completed and eventually fell into ruin through neglect and folly, the two remaining gods constructed places of power where skilled adventurers could prove themselves against the Titans. The challenge proved too monumental for any mortal man, so a hero who could hope to take down the Titans had to be constructed by a god's hand. One thousand ambient souls were compressed into one and placed inside the body of a superhuman that could die, but not STAY dead. As YOU are what this god's hand has created, this is where your journey begins.
