The boss portal can spawn inside the wall on the ice temple map. Sorry if there is a maps thread, I couldn't find it.
Side note, the teleport to boss crystal is never given to the player the first time they enter a map. I either have to exit and enter again or exit a harvest/obelisk inside the map.
