#Table missing Excel download button

Hello Franz! I'm AppsmithBot, here to assist you with your Appsmith queries.
To restore the Excel Download button in the Table widget, you need to ensure that the "Allow download" property is enabled. This property controls the visibility of the Download button in the table header. When enabled, users can download the table data as a .csv file or Excel file by clicking on the button?5:0?Appsmith Documentation.md?.
Here's how you can enable it:
- Select the Table widget in your Appsmith application.
- In the property pane, look for the "Allow download" option.
- Make sure it is toggled on.
If the button is still not visible after enabling this property, please check if there are any conditional visibility settings applied to the widget that might be affecting its display.
Let me know if you need further assistance!

the "Allow Download" is toggled. The CSV Download button is there, just the excel button is missing.
It seems that the Excel download functionality might be experiencing issues. There have been reports of Excel files downloaded from the Table widget being corrupted or not functioning as expected?5:11?intercom-support2.json?.
To address this, you can try the following steps:
- Ensure that your Appsmith instance is up to date, as updates may contain fixes for known issues.
- If the problem persists, consider exporting your app and sharing it with the Appsmith support team for further investigation?5:15?intercom-support2.json?.
If you continue to experience issues, please let me know, and I can assist you further.

Hello Franz! I'm Amelia with Appsmith Support.
We have temporarily removed this option to download the data as an Excel file due to a breaking bug with number columns. We will reenable this feature once this bug gets fixed: https://github.com/appsmithorg/appsmith/issues/38995
Could you please add a comment with your use case to this GitHub issue to it to help us prioritize it?
In the meantime, you should be able to download the data as a CSV file and convert it if needed. Let us know if you have any further questions.
I have found a workaraound. If you use the old table widget (copied from another APP), then the “Download Excel” button is there again.
It seems like you've found a workaround by using the old Table widget from another app where the "Download Excel" button is still available. This suggests that the feature might have been deprecated or altered in the newer versions of the Table widget.
If this workaround is suitable for your needs, you can continue using the old Table widget. However, keep in mind that using deprecated features might not be supported in future updates. It's a good idea to keep an eye on Appsmith's release notes or documentation for any updates regarding this feature.
If you need further assistance or have any other questions, feel free to ask!
