Why is my app all of a sudden accessible to everyone?

I have created a wordpress site where I have hosted the app via an iFrame
I have not made the app public... As a result, usually, I need to log in with my appsmith credentials

all of a sudden, the app has become accessible to anyone. I noticed because I was using a differnet computer whoch I had never used to access the app. It got full access without any issues, no request to log in.

this is a massive concern as all of the information is sensitive and not to be shared

It seems like your Appsmith application might have been inadvertently made public. To ensure that your app is not accessible to everyone, you should check the following:

  1. Public Access Settings: Verify if the "Make application public" setting is enabled. This can be done by clicking on the "Share" button within the application and checking if the "Make application public" switch is turned on. If it is, turn it off to restrict access?5:3?source?.

  2. Access Control: Ensure that the access control settings are correctly configured. Only users with Administrator roles can make applications public, so check if any changes were made by an admin?5:3?source?.

  3. Embedding Settings: If you are embedding the app in an iframe, ensure that the embedding settings are not set to public mode. This can be checked under App Settings > Share & Embed?5:8?source?.

  4. Audit Logs: Check the audit logs to see if there were any changes made to the app's access settings. This can help identify if someone with access made the app public?5:0?source?.

If you have verified these settings and the issue persists, it might be a bug or a configuration issue. In such cases, it would be best to contact Appsmith support for further assistance.

I'm here to help! It seems like your Appsmith application might have been inadvertently made public. Here are some steps you can take to resolve this issue:

  1. Check Public Access Settings: Go to your Appsmith application, click on the "Share" button, and ensure that the "Make application public" option is not enabled. If it is, disable it to restrict access.

  2. Review Access Control: Verify that the access control settings are correctly configured. Only users with Administrator roles should have the ability to make applications public. Check if any changes were made by an admin.

  3. Inspect Embedding Settings: Since you are using an iframe on your WordPress site, ensure that the embedding settings are not set to public mode. This can be checked under App Settings > Share & Embed.

  4. Audit Logs: Check the audit logs to see if there were any changes made to the app's access settings. This can help identify if someone with access made the app public.

If you have verified these settings and the issue persists, it might be a bug or a configuration issue. In such cases, it would be best to contact Appsmith support for further assistance.
