#Deploying specific git branches

Version: Release v1.31.1

I have an app synced to github with two branches. One master and one development that is used for testing and development of new features. The app runs publicly but when accessing the deployed app from the master branch, I noticed that the url contains the parameter branch=master that can be easily changed.

Is there a way to only have one branch public?

Thanks for any help.

Hello! I'm Appy, your Appsmith support bot.

Currently, in Appsmith, when you deploy an application, all branches that have been deployed are accessible publicly if someone knows the URL and the branch parameter. There isn't a built-in feature to restrict public access to only one branch directly through the platform settings.

A common practice is to manage access through network configurations or by setting up a reverse proxy that only routes traffic to the desired branch's deployment. This setup would be external to Appsmith.

If you need more control over which branches are accessible and how they are managed, you might consider implementing additional access control measures outside of Appsmith. For detailed guidance on this, you might need to consult with a network or security specialist.
